Yeah season doesn't start for about 2 weeks but we have some stuff this weekend maybe some predictions for Speedweeks and such. Not many fans on here but we have some.
Reminders here: This weekend is the Rolex 24 @ Daytona Also this weekend is the Toyota All-star showdown @ Irwindale Then the shootout two weeks from Saturday!
Also, for people coming in here to ask "Why is this in the sports board?" just don't. I know you don't think this is a sport but while you are saying crap on a message board they are risking their lives. So stay out of the thread.

With Nascar changing their points system. I have no idea what the hell is going on any more. Ill watch the big races like Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, Coca-Cola 600, Pepsi 400 but I probably wont pay much attention to the rest. Nascar has completely sold out their hardcore loyal fans that made them one of the most popular sports and has turned Nascar into a near broke joke.

Here's to another season of Kasey Kahne standing no chance again, since Johnson's gonna ing win, points change or not. Again.

So they did officially change it? I didn't hear the announcement. I know what the new system is.
I also saw on ESPN that they are nearing a change on qualifying. If the official qualifying session is rained out, the order will be set by practice speeds. If practice AND qualifying is rained out, then the order will be setup by points.
In any case, I still will be pulling for Dale Jr. because I've been a fan of his since he came up in 2000 and I'm not about to turn my back on him now. And SMOKE! Let's go TONY!!!!

Whats the change in the points this year? They should just give Jimmie Johnson the trophy in Daytona.

Whats the change in the points this year? They should just give Jimmie Johnson the trophy in Daytona. 1-43 scale. Winner gets 43 points, and each position back descends down, all the way to 43rd place getting one point. Winner gets 3 points for a race win. Leading a lap gets 1 bonus point, and leading the most laps gets another point. Total now for a win is possible 48 points. Chase format: 1-10 set by points throughout the season, final after Race 26. Each win will net that driver 3 points for re-positioning. Positions 11 and 12 will be determined by the 2 drivers in points position 11-20 with 2 most wins. Example: Dale Jr [never gonna happen] has 6 wins, but a bad stretch up to Race 26 drops him to 19th in points. If he has the most wins of drivers in points position 11 through 20, he'll get the 11 seed.

I STILL CAN'T belive Junior got the pole for the Shootout. 'Tis a shame, though. Me and my girl are fans of Dale, too, and it's sad that he's had sucky seasons from '07 or '08 onward. Hopefully that changes this year. I'D LOVE TO SEE him win one for his Dad. Hard to believe it's been 10 years already.

Everybody wants him to win this for his dad or win that for his dad. Its too much pressure to put on someone. He won the 400 right after his dad died. I think that should be enough and Junior should start doing things for himself. If not he's going to end up just like Kyle Petty.

The King was, and still is, possibly THE greatest driver in NASCAR. Should be a good race today. Starts at 6:00, right?

I will never forget when i was in the garages in Vegas and saw Richard Petty and someone actually said Hey King we need you for something, since he owned the car. But this was a pretty good race can't wait for the 500.

That was one of the worst races I've ever seen. NASCAR really needs to do something about these two car drafts.

Decent race tonight. Flattened that Jr. did not do so well after winning the pole. Glad to see Kurt Busch win it, and not Johnson.
