I don't see why some people aren't seeing the dead on likeness to Andre. It is easily the best Andre head ever. The body is just an Elite Big Show, but the head is absolutely perfect. I can see why people don't like the Savage head, but the Andre head really couldn't be any better. Yeah, I don't get it either. The sculpt was amazingly dead on perfect. I'd even say it may be the best sculpt of a deceased wrestler ever done.

The Andre torso looks chubbier whereas the Big Show one is more thinner/defined

ya it, is they cancelled something we want and continue to make dollar store quality rings so i win. Well I am sure it just didn't make financial sense at this time to do another large scale ring so soon. I believe that this will come back in the future. In the mean time, Don't forget that you can customize your rings to look classic. and The Jakks RSR looks great with elites, better than the esr if you ask me.

If nobody except us hardcore collectors on this board buy a mass-retail product, it's a failure. There's no sense in Mattel wasting money on producing an expensive ring that nobody except us is going to buy. Don't be so selfish, kid.

no knowledge of a prototype,or even pics of one. the only thing they ever showed was the Andre figure, saying it would come with the ESR. shortly thereafter it was cancelled, and then awhile later we got the word Andre was going to mattycollector.com. but I'm fairly certain they never showed us the ring.

Then legends 7 got cancelled. Its normally annoying when i see ppl bumping super old threads.....but at least u have a reason. I actually had the same question a couple weeks ago, and couldn't find any pics of it. So i assume there was never even a mock-up made.

I still think there's a market for a ring sized somewhere between the standard Mattel rings that are being put out regularly and the ESR. Like an 18 by 18 inch ring. At least the Jakks RSRs are still available second hand on the Bay. I'm still upset that I put so much faith in Mattel to produce ESR accessories such as cages, HIAC, MITB, EC sets, that I sold my old Jakks stuff. This was right after the original ESR was released. I blindly thought that since they released an ESR they would follow it up over time with accessories for it.
Unfortunately I think the longer it goes the less likely it will be that Mattel will put out anything other than the way too small rings they are releasing.

There was a picture of the Legends ring in an issue of WWE Magazine a while back. It was a promo for Defining Moments, and had DM1 Savage posed on the corner of red/white/blue ropes. *edit* Found it:

Back in 2011 Mattels WWE line wasn't NEARLY as popular as it is today. If they were to release any type of real scale ring today it would fly off the shelves! Kids and collectors alike are sick and tired of these mini sized rings. And it is really unfair for those of us who weren't on the matty bandwagon back when these were in stores.

I could have sworn I remembered seeing a mock-up of it when they released images of the Andre figure, but I know for a fact that I saw a version of the Bret ad with Savage.
I've never seen that ad with Bret, though. Very cool. Was that from WWE Magazine, too?

I always thought this would be a good thing for K-Mart to release as one of their exclusives. They seem to have a big one every year, and this would be a perfect place for it. Really make it great by putting an Announcer Vince McMahon in there with it, and everyone would be happy.

I just don't understand how they consider it a flop when almost everyone has one. Every video I see on YouTube the collector either has one or has had one at some point.

Legends 7 was shown on/in the Walmart Steel Cage playset I believe.
As far as the internet knows, only one person actually has Legends 7.
