I`ve read in a post that 80`s elite scale ring with Andre was cancelled!... with no more stands, discontinuation of EG`s, legends cut 4 per series also have they even started prodution on legends 2-pack series 2?... Obvious buget cuts!!!... My solution is get rid of Flex Force all together!.... I`m sorry but the Flex Force line is crap. What do you guys think Mattel should do to maintain what we want in our figures?...
p.s. Sorry just frustrated with the lack of positive news

They have such a strong brand in being the largest toy company for one, and partnering with another strong brand like the WWE. They came out of the gates firing on all cylinders and now with all this bad news it's just fizzling. I'm sure Jakks fans are having a good laugh right about now *sigh*
too much product depth - if you've got successful Rumblers aimed at the younger demographic, then cut the Flex Force garbage Mattel.

Ah yes. Another thread about how Mattel is letting us collectors down and need to do something to make us happy and regain our faith in them. Mattel is still putting out good figures, trying to push the limits on what they can do, and bring out our old favorites.
I am usually very critical of Mattel but this time I have to stand by them. The retail market in regards to wrestling is changing as the WWE's audience changes. Unlike G.I. Joe and DCUC figures, wrestling toys are still driven by kids buying them. The basic lines, flex force and rumblers stand to do better than Legends and Elites. If they do not do well at retail they get cut. The upside is Mattel has ways of making the figures and offering them as direct sales online. Nothing to worry about or get upset over.

I haven't heard that the Andre ring was cancelled. It's still scheduled for a 2011 release. The Flex Force line should seriously just be dismissed, though. In the Jakks days, you had Havoc Unleashed. But those were cheaper and available at Dollar General and such. Now Flex Force are about the same price as Basics. So they aren't gonna sell well. Scrap the line, please. Just scrap it, Mattel.

Ill say the same thing about Mattel that I said about Jakks....
If you stick to two styles (Basic/Ruthless and Elite/Deluxe) and stop with the silly ass Micros, bendies, cartooney, 4 ft figures and other meaningless crap, you're finances wont be struggling as much. Seriously Hasbro and LJN had 1 line and very few little odds and ends. They didnt try to pump out 48 different lines and styles.

Mattel tried a little too hard and now they are facing money problems.
The Entrance Greats didn't need to come with the stupid music box.
Flex Force serve no purpose. It's a basic figure with less details and most of them have no knee joints.
Rumblers are cartoony and don't appeal to the general consumer.
Mattel should be allocating all of their resources into making the BASIC/2-PACKS LINE and ELITE/LEGENDS LINE as good as they can be and ensuring that we have appropriate accessories with both of those lines.
But Mattel stretched themselves so thin that we don't even get stands anymore and some of the lines are already being reduced from 6 man lineups.
Can it be too far away that Mattel starts not painting the backs of the figures like Jakks did the last 2 years of their run?

I have to say, The Entrance Greats had to have their music box, because one thing that makes and entrance great is the superstars theme music. Even though the Flex Force sort of appeal to the younger kids, I think the kids want the basics more. I do agree that if they scrap the ridiculous lines that no one buys, then they won't be in money problems. I think Mattel will realize that they want to keep us happy and they will NEVER loose detail. I think they'd scrap lines before they lost detail. As far as the stands go, I could care less about the, and the 4 legends per series is great because I can afford the DM line now too.

I can live without the Legends ring and the cut from 6 to 4 so long as we keep getting quality Legends figures made. I can't get over how great Orndorff and Demolition are from Wave 4!

The bottom line is that Mattel needs to just focus on the WWE line being REALISTIC. Anything that they make that does not accurately portray something that actually happens in the 'WWE Universe' is a waste of their time and money and a waste of our shelf space.
I don't want to see crap like a spin off line of the wrestlers as astronauts, or what the wrestlers would look like if they mutated with an animal that fit their personality. You know some idiot at Mattel is sitting there going "hey! Let's make a Randy Orton figure with a VIPER head!"
Bottom line, give me figures that look like the wrestlers look.
Flex Force is the first thing that needs to go. It's a basic figure with LESS detail and LESS articulation for the SAME PRICE or more if it comes with an accessory.

It is hard for a store to restock if it's shelves are loaded with product. Useless/old product

blame the collectors for not buying up all the legends. the legends line is the one suffering due to the line not selling not cause of Mattel.

I believe that Mattel has outhyped themselves. Creating new molds for every new figure is great but very, very expensive. And if they reuse them, people complain about repaints. Years from now I can see Mattel being cheap like Jakks. Us collectors may not like it, but its just reality. No company can keep doing what Mattel have been doing and make a significant profit.

I for one believe that they should get rid of the FlexForce line as well. I get that they are geared towards the kids, but they are mainly really just shelf warmers for the most part. Mattel's figures are so amazing, I don't see the need for these to be honest.

FlexForce has no impact on the budget for other lines, morons. Mattel's FlexForce budget is set according to projected income from the FlexForce line. Same for Elites, Basics etc. They're not going to take the FlexForce budget and put it into the Elite line and keep the Elite line the same price. If you're happy for them to put the FlexForce money into the Elite line and up the Elite price to [Elite + FlexForce, so about $25 per figure] then fair enough. Personally, I prefer things the way they are now.

Cancelling the Flex Force line would save them enough money and shelf space at retail. Giving them more shelf space will allow for more basics and Elites to be put out on the floor, therefore, allowing them to sell better. It's not all about the money, it's also about getting the product on more shelvesinstead of taking up that space with a line that practically noone wants.
