It's all about percentage....the owners gave them a percentage of the deal when the deal was placed many years ago...football has become an extremely lucrative business.
They gave a percentage of the overall revenue back then but now they are making so much more money they don't want to part with more and more.
Again, I believe both sides are villains and could care less, they could never have another season and I'd still be happy the Packers won.

Just heard today that the Packer players may not get their rings because of the lock out.

Just heard today that the Packer players may not get their rings because of the lock out. They will get them the second the lock out is over, its not like they will NEVER get them. People need to relax, right now nothing is allowed, once its settled, its back to normal. All we are missing right now is free agency, there is still time for that

Sorry Ralpho. There is no place for a voice of reason when the season is in jeopardy. Where are the replacement players??

Sorry Ralpho. There is no place for a voice of reason when the season is in jeopardy. Where are the replacement players?? Theres no need to whine like a child when its the middle of March and NO FOOTBALL IS BEING PLAYED. Seriously, the Super Bowl team wont get their rings? REALLY? It's March, no one plays for 5 months, make your snide comments bout replacement players, but you idiocy about the rings just adds fuel to the fire about the THE SKY IS FALLING type feelings a lot of people are saying right now. The draft is a month away, relax.

I'm not going to lie... This whole situation is really turning me off to the NFL.
I understand "nothing has happened yet," but I'm just burnt out on hearing about it.

I just wish Obama would fix this. Instead he's filling out March Madness brackets. What is his problem anyway?

Welcome to being a baseball fan after the strike and potentially, the NBA going through this in a few months too. It sucks, but its business

Peter King is reporting a slight rumor that at the meetings a first round draft pick was offered to the Philadelphia Eagles for QB Kevin Kolb. Rumor has it that the team was...............
The 49ers.

I can't wait for the draft to get here, that way I finally will now who Carolina is gonna take. I've heard Newton, Gabbert, Peterson, Dareus, Fairley, and Bowers. I'm tired of all the damn speculation.

By the time we hit day 35 or so of the NFL lockout, I demand all analysts and anchors who discuss it to have beards like Tom Hanks in Cast Away.

My question is with the lockout and whatnot, how can teams sign their rookies from the draft if you can't negotiate contracts? If I'm correct, that could be a huge problem.

The teams have their rights, so its not like the players can get away. Sure it might cause longer negotiations, but it wont be a huge problem. They arent free agents.

He did, considering he played soccer as a kid.

He did, considering he played soccer as a kid. Well yeah, I figured that. I was just saying, he's still pretty good after not playing for that long (according to ESPN.) Haha.

Didn't he have a couple of nice kickoffs in a preseason game before?
