Tim Tebow is a great athlete with a cannon arm. He's smart and has great size. He came from one of college footballs most revolutionary offenses. So did Alex Smith Your point is? Tebow was a late 1st round pick, the teams second 1st pick in the round as well. Smith was a 1st overall pick and the franchise put their whole chips into his stock, he failed. If Tebow doesn't work out, who cares, because quite frankly nobody expected him to be a franchise QB, unlike Smith.

Alex Smith was the first "true" spread offense Quarterback to excel and come out in the NFL draft. It was going to be a hit or miss because people were still not real familiar with Urban Meyer's Spread. Clearly we've seen what Alex is/has become. Tim Tebow is/was absolutely no different. One of my closest friends is a huge Gators fan and all he talked about was how great Tebow was and how amazing he was going to be in the NFL. Tebow, mechanically is a carbon copy of Alex Smith. I told everyone when he came out he wasnt going to be a star or even a starter in the NFL and that he didnt have the mechanics to be one. Also, you say that nobody expected Tebow to be their Franchise QB. Please remind me what other team has ever drafted a QB in the first round and didnt expect them to be their future QB? Ill hang up and listen.....

Colts pick up Kerry Collins, and in return surrender possibilities of playing in the Super Bowl.

Do you guys think the Lockout has already left its mark on the players? Looking at the Giants injuries, almost all of them are tears except Amukamara. Thomas and Witherspoon tore their ACL's, Austin tore his pectoral and Johnson ruptured his Achilles Tendon.
Could there be a connection with the lockout? maybe not, it just sucks all these guys are going down so early.

I think it's a direct connection with the lockout. In fact, thats one of the things a lot of people were worried about was the amount of injuries in the pre season games based on the conditioning or lack there of.
The only good news out of this is for those hoping to get a spot on a roster.

What was I saying about Tebow? Now you are ruining any trade value he has. Broncos arent making the playoffs and they just blew a former #1 pick for no good reason. LOL! You must have me mistaken with Kliq. NO GM is listening to a damn thing I have to say. Tebow played REALLY WELL the end of last year. He is a proven winner. Calm down, chief. I agree with the rest, but let's be realistic. He played decently on a horrible team. He played better than decently. But that is what I am saying. He was on a horrid team, a defense that ranked dead last and Broncos had a spark. Hell, his first preseason game this year he looked really good again. Now dont get wrong....he is no Tom Brady or anything and I certainly wouldnt rank him in the top 20 QBs.....but I'll take Tebow over a few starters in the league right now and a ton of backups. Proven winner and Broncos shouldn't be anywhere close to the same statement. Tebow started 3 games for Christ sake. Umm...not the Broncos, TEBOW. Tebow is a proven winner. Your point is? Tebow was a late 1st round pick, the teams second 1st pick in the round as well. Smith was a 1st overall pick and the franchise put their whole chips into his stock, he failed. Ill hang up and listen..... How can anyone expect Alex Smith to be anything right now? They cant keep an offensive coordinator or coach for longer than 2 years. Everytime he starts to learn one system, someone else comes in and changes it up. Not to mention, until they got Crabtree...he really had no decent options at WR. Hell, Vernon Davis was only just coming on. Your thoughts on Tebow being drafted as a franchise QB are dead on and I agree 100%. No one spends a 1st round pick on a QB without doing so with the idea he is going to be a franchise player.

Being a proven winner does not translate to the Broncos. There is no such thing as a proven winner on the Broncos. Tebow started only 3 games, he still has a sh*tload of stuff to prove.

JOHN ELWAY Yes, Tebow started 3 games and YES....ABSOLUTELY agree he has a crapload of stuff to prove. HOWEVER, how is he gonna do it being 4th on the depth chart behind rookie QB and Big 10 all time leader in INTs, Andrew Weber?

Why the wouldn't he be automatically talking about the current roster? Considering the bulk of the conversation, if not the whole thing has been about their current 3rd string QB.

My only point on Tebow is the Broncos are just ruining his trade value and wasting a #1 pick without ever really trying him.
I like Tebow, hope he does well, but the Broncos are gonna do this all wrong and ruin him and his value

I like Tebow, hope he does well, but the Broncos are gonna do this all wrong and ruin him and his value When they put Orton at #1....I was thinking it was just to increase his trade value. Now I have to believe that they really are going with Orton and want to cut ties with Tebow. Honestly, they could name Tebow the starter and I dont think its going to increase his trade value. There are not enough GMs that want Tebow...at least not at his currently salary.
