Ward's been essentially the slot guy for a couple of years now, but he's still damn good at what he does. And for the record, Sanders and Brown are actually solid route runners...they just don't get the recognition because either Ward's catching a ball while being covered by 3 different guys or Wallace is burning the entire oppositions backfield. They don't get thrown to because of that, but if you watch any of the Steelers games, you'll see that they're always running very good routes...they're just not normally the number one option. I don't see Brown or Sanders as anything more then maybe a #2 at best. Plus they are on a running team more then a passing team. Both are young enough to develop into something but I don't think either will be a #1 WR somewhere. Well no, Sanders has more potential than Brown but I get where you're coming from. But you can't tell me that even on a run heavy team, having a current number two who will be the number one in a year or two, who has borderline A+ potential in Wallace, and then Sanders and Brown who definately have great number two potential with the definate ability to take the step to one if they stay on the right track (particularly Sanders), you can't tell me that that's not a very good situation to be in at WR with a QB like Ben. They're no Rice, Moss, Welker or Owens...but it's definately got the potential to do some damage. Tack on the damage Mendenhall and Moore can do...it should make any Steelers fan happy for the next five years or so.

Brown is more a slot guy. If Sanders can stay healthy it's a good group but if not I think Brown might struggle a bit. Plus Moore is a non-factor. It's Mendenhall's running game, Moore is only allowed to touch it when Mendenhall is tired.

Tomlin was saying, I guess about a week or so ago, he's going to try to incorperate Moore and Redman into the running game more to keep Mendenhalls legs fresher longer. I don't know if that means pulling Mendenhall when they get into the red zone for Reds, or incorperating a split back with Moore and/or Dwyer going alongside Mendenhall...I guess we'll see.

Hardly. No one took them serious before that game and no one still does.

Hardly. No one took them serious before that game and no one still does. They'll threaten St. Louis for the division. Why does that matter, you ask? Well...when teams from that division are underestimated they tend to do some nasty things in the playoffs. See: Seahakws 2010, Arizona 2008.

Saints were completely off in that game. 9 out of 10 times the Saints woulda destroyed them. Just that one time...yeah. Seattle is still completely awful.

Tebow is jittery in the pocket..
EDIT: Well..Ryan Mallett looks really good, and Tebow's getting it together. Blaine Gabbert doesn't look comfortable, at all.

Honestly anyone can win that division. I think St. Louis will but a terrible team could win it.

My roommate and a few other friends are 49er fans so I'm pulling for them this year in the West, but I'm not gonna hold my breath

If I had to bet, I would pick Arizona, but they are all terrible.

9 games in the last 3 years for Bob Sanders. Thats incredible how injury prone he is.

Welp, 13-6, Eagles win. Only TD of the game came on that, not gonna lie, very nicely executed series that Mike played. And a tremendous catch by Riley Cooper to set up what would be the 2 yard TD pass to Celek, after the review was not in our favor. Overall, I'd say the team looked really good tonight, all around. It's the first preseason game, so naturally there will be things to work on, but I'm even more excited for the regular season now than I was before, after seeing what we can do.
