Im not a fan of R Kelly, im not familiar with his music, but I do know he's a musician. So I have to say I think he will be remembered for his Music and not his actions.
In 20 years people will hear his music on the radio but you will not hear about what he did.

I think people are forgetting that R Kelly's fans have always gotten pass the whole little girl situation. Call me crazy, but I honestly think that he's built enough of a legacy to actually be remembered for his music. Well, of course his fans have gotten past the pee situation. However, I only know of about 3 of his songs, so the first thing that comes to mind when I hear R. Kelly is, "Oh yeah, the "Piss on You" guy." With all due respect, the people who only know three of his songs don't matter because, as you said, they'll remember him more for the kid thing as they never had a focus on his music to begin with.

This thread doesn't seem to be asking how his fans will remember him, but how history will choose to remember him. Basically, 50 years from now his one sentence summary will be "R. Kelly, born _____, most famous for __________." You've got to weigh the negative accusations against the musical contributions and find which has more weight in the court of public opinion. Right now the molestation charges are probably winning, but in time it may change.

So you're basically saying that the opinion people who know more of his songs (i.e. his fans, more or less) is more important than the rest of the world's opinion? What nonsense.

Unfortunately he will ALWAYS be remembered for this, despite being a great musician in his own right. Stole my reply.

For his actions. Don't care how much you apologies don't take back actions.

Who gives a shit?
It's R, Kelly, in the scheme of people who matter in the entertainment industry, he's barely a spec on the radar.

Sure, he was found "not guilty." All that means is that instead of being remembered as "the guy who pissed on a 14 year-old," he'll be remembered as "the guy accused of pissing on a 14 year-old."

seriously, not targeting the original poster specifically but people need to stop coming on wf to make threads about their favorite artists 6 times a month.
and yes, that includes kurt cobain or nirvana related, lady gaga, justin beiber and r. kelly.

Nobody ever makes topics asking " HOW WILL KURT COBAIN BE REMEMEBRED " or " DO YOU GUYS LIKE NIRVANA OR GAGA? "
Topics in the entertainment that involve, Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, etc.. ALWAYS have things to do with news about that musician. Which is what you do in the entertainment... Unlike this topic asking how someone will be remembered that was posted last year by the same person.

Pissing. Just like Benoit will be remembered as that crazy guy who murdered his family instead of the great wrestler.

people on this forum need to stop using the boards as a means to constantly express their love of their favorite artists. pretty simple. Since when is that done? The only topic I ever known of that being the case is now the R Kelly topics, seeing how this is the second time it's posted, before this was created, I never seen someone posting to express their love for a musician/band.
I've seen people post news related things to a musician/band they love, which is perfectly fine seeing how it's a forum and it's in entertainment. Bieber calls himself Cobain, post it, Gaga released a new album, post it, Kanye west interrupts Swift, post it. You want to ask about the hip hop feuds between Eminem/ICP/Biggie/Tupac, post it. You want to ask how a musician will be rememered? Post it, but not twice.
I'd love for you to show me what you're talking about though, go find a topic so I will understand.
