Hey guys,
It's been a long time since I've done one of these posts here on the Jakks board. Maybe a year or more?
Regardless, I have a large batch of pics to share of some of my recent buys/receivings and I thought I'd post them here for everyone to see.
Normally I would post my BCA figure buys on my blog (and you can access all of my "Latest Vintage Jakks Receivings" posts from my blog by checking the archives or using the search box from the link provided in my sig), but this time I have something a little different to show.
Little, of course, being the key term. In fact, you might even say these are similar to BCA figures, but on a much smaller, err, miniature scale.
The original Mini Rings figures are back in my collection after I had sold off the majority of my mine (only the figures, since I no longer had the rings) back in 2007.
So, beginning in late December, I decided to take a chance at a few eBay auctions and soon found myself close to having a complete collection of the original Mini Rings figures.
I wouldn't consider the Brawl-4-All sets to be a part of that "original" tag, so that's why my search is over after receiving the last of the seven I needed, the Raw Is War playset, in the mail yesterday.
I'll have to go back and find the exact amounts I paid for each of them, but I'd guess that I paid about $12-15 on average for these sets. I did have to pay more for the first two that Jakks produced, the aforementioned Raw set and the WrestleMania ring set, but it was worth it to me in order to complete my collection.
It's a shame that there never was a SummerSlam-themed set to go with the rest of the ones pictured below, but I'm just glad I don't have to pay for any more of them lol.
With that said, let's get on to the pics!
For those wondering, the Mini Rings figures were originally scaled at 3 inches tall, but then the sculpts shrunk to about 2 and 3/4 inches tall for the later sets.
The lack of continuity in the scale of the figures is, well, understandable for Jakks Pacific, but it doesn't make it any less irritating when, for instance, Bret Hart towers over Kane.
There were a considerable number of repaints in the line, too, so technically the Mini Rings sets only offered up 29 new characters out of a possible 42 spots (7 sets x 6 figures per set).
WrestleMania - Bret, Shawn, 'Taker, Vader, Owen, Sid
Raw Is War - Stone Cold, Ahmed, Faarooq, Goldust, HHH, Mankind
King of the Ring - Pillman, Sunny, Rocky, HB Mosh, HB Thrasher, Savio
Royal Rumble - Bulldog, Mero, RW Animal, RW Hawk, Bearer, Lawler
Survivor Series - Kane, Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn
No Mercy - N/A
Sudden Threat - N/A
On that note, I'll close by saying, as always, thanks for taking the time to look and/or comment and I hope the pics didn't take too long to load.
