Derek Bateman & Johnny Curtis defeated. Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel, The Uso Brothers, Zack Ryder & William Regal, Mason Ryan & David Otunga, Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov in a tag team gauntlet to become the new WWE Tag Team champions. In a pre show match exclusive to WWE.com and the Wrestlemania DVD, The fans were greeted with a tag team gauntlet that saw the crowning of new tag team champions. After winning NXT, Derek Bateman and Daniel Bryan challenged for the Tag Titles only for Bateman to attack his mentor following the match after The Corre used dirty tactics to retain the belt. The following week, Bateman brought in Johnny Curtis, fellow NXT Season 4 rookie as his partner and now the two men hold Championship gold in WWE.
Dolph Ziggler defeated. Daniel Bryan in a 2/3 falls match to become the new WWE United States Champion winning 2 falls to 1. A fantastic opener to Wrestlemania 27 as the newly Raw signed, Dolph Ziggler put on another fantastic match with Daniel Bryan with the final finish eventually arrived with a dangerous Zig Zag from the top rope which Bryan sold tremendously, landing rather awkwardly on the back of his head before flipping on to his chest. This was enough to give Ziggler the final fall to capture the belt.
Drew McIntyre defeated. Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Chris Masters, R Truth, Mark Henry, John Morrison & Evan Bourne in Money in the Bank. As usual, the Money in the Bank match was its usual spot fest with John Morrison using his parkour antics to quickly become the fan favourite. There was some nice spingboard exchanges between Morrison and Bourne till Kington got involved taking them both out. The eventual finish arrived with Morrison and Swagger battling it out on the ladder, Swagger looking to become a 2x MITB winner only for Morrion to kick him in the head, sending Swagger to the canvas. Morrison looked to grab the briefcase but Drew McIntyre smack Morrison in the leg that was recently injured at Elimination Chamber, causing Morrison to hold it in pain, thus falling off the ladder. Drew would manage to get up the ladder and grab hold of the briefcase to claim it as his own.
Randy Orton defeated. CM Punk in a fun back n forth match that saw interference from all of The new Nexus. Punk tried everything that he had up his sleeve but Orton overcame it all in dare I say it “Superman fashion” and picked up the victory following an RKO to the leader of Nexus. Match seemed rather early on the card but with two heels already picking up victories, I guess they felt a face needed to win.
King Sheamus defeated. Kane in a Battle for Brand Supremacy match. Both men were picked by their brands General Managers to do battle against each other in a match that hadn’t been since at Wrestlemania since 2008 where Batista picked up the victory for Smackdown. The big me had a decent brawl of a match and the match eventually finished with Sheamus putting away Kane with the Brogue Kick and followed it up with an impressive High Cross to pick up the victory for Raw.
Ezekiel Jackson & Wade Barrett defeated. Big Show & Diesel in what was probably the slowest match of the night but a fun match none the less that the crowd were in too mainly because of Diesel. Perhaps the shortest match of the night that ultimately ended with interference from The Corre causing Diesel to chase them up the entrance ramp. This allowed for the assisted Wasteland by Jackson and Barrett to Big Show to pick up the victory. Following the bell, Slater and Gabriel would chop block both of Diesel’s legs and attack Big Show only for Diesel to get a chair and clear the ring. All of the corre apart from Justin Gabriel were outside of the ring and they had to stand there and watch as Diesel hit the Jacknife power bomb to Gabriel for that Wrestlemania moment.
Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix & Natalya defeated. Michelle McCool, Layla & Amazing Kong. The original match was scheduled to by Kelly Kelly instead of Natalya but the blonde princess of Smackdown was injured and had to be replaced. Laycool brought in the mammoth of a woman, Amazing Kong shortly before Wrestlemania as their bodyguard leading to the match. The rest of the wwe diva’s were at ringside and in a rather short match, Trish Stratus picked up the victory for her team following the Stratusfaction on Michelle McCool.
Cody Rhodes defeated. Rey Mysterio in a fantastic match. Rhodes has really upped his game in recent months and the feud with Mysterio has really helped. Rhodes came out with his own lucha styled mask with the new gimmick of thinking that everyone is calling him ugly behind his back and that he is no longer dashing. Mysterio came out in a tron styled outfit for Wrestlemania which got a nice reaction. The match eventually finished with Cody Rhodes ducked underneath the 619, rolling Mysterio up and holding on to the ropes to steal the victory.
Edge defeated. Alberto Del Rio and Christian in a triple threat match to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. In the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania, Christian was interrupting all of Del Rios matches, attacking him, even if it was at the expense of his friend Edge. Smackdown general manager announced on Smackdown if Christian could beat Del Rio one on one he’d get in to the match and he did just that. The match itself was pretty great and while Edge and Christian worked together at first, they knew it was everyman for themselves and eventually went at it as well. The finish to the match eventually arrived with Edge going for the spear on Del Rio only for Del Rio to sidestep, causing Edge to spear Christian. Del Rio tried to take advantage by throwing Edge out of the ring but Edge countered it in to his own throw sending Del rio to the outside of the ring. Edge looked down at his friend and shrugged before hooking his leg and picking up the three count to retain the world heavyweight championship.
The Undertaker defeated. Triple H in a Streak vs. Career match where Shawn Michaels was special referee. Some could say this could and should have main evented the show but Triple H has gone on record in saying that the Title match should always close the show, and WWE had something big to close the show anyway. Shawn was legit the entire match as Triple H and Undertaker put on a great match. Not as good as Taker vs. Michaels but it was damn close. The finish eventually arrived after several near finishes and several finishers being connected with Undertaker countering the Pedigree in to the Tombstone Piledriver. The final scene of the match saw Shawn Michaels with a tear in his eye being forced to count the three on his best friend, forcing Triple H in to retirement.
The Miz defeated. John Cena to retain the WWE Championship in the main event of the night. The crowd were red hot through out as The Miz who opened the show last year was now main eventing with the biggest name in the company right now, John Cena. The match was extremely back n forth and both wrestlers played of the crowds emotions really well. Late in to the match, Cena went for his shoulder tackle but Miz moved out of the way causing the referee to go down. Cena would still manage to hit the Attitude Adjustment on The Miz and tried to hook the leg only for Michael Cole to get in to the ring and jump on Cena. Cena would stand up with Cole on his back and set him up for the same move but he pointed at Lawler at the commentator’s table who smiled and entered the ring. Cena set Cole down who turned around walking straight in to Lawler who kicked Cole in the gut and slammed him with his trademark Piledriver. Lawler dragged Cole out of the ring and Cena would hook the leg where The Rock would run down to the ring to make count. “One…. Two…. It doesn’t matter of the rock counts to three!” The crowd are stunned as Cena and Rock stand and Cena asks Rock what the hell is going on. Miz comes up from behind Cena and plants him with the Skull Crushing Finale and hooks the leg as The Rock counts the three count. The crowd are still stunned as The Rock leaves the ring grinning as Wrestlemania closes with The Miz still WWE Champion.

Johnny Curtis & Derek Bateman defeated. Zack Ryder & William Regal to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships. Regal has been trying to train Ryder in the way of British Wrestling which seems to be working as Ryder has been busting out some of Regal’s own moves such as random uppercuts and tiger bombs. This still wasn’t enough for “The Iced Z & English Tea” as Johnny Curtis put Ryder away with the Michinoku Driver.
Dolph Ziggler defeated. John Morrison and Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE United States Championship. A fantastic opener to the Pay-Per-View where all three men went all out to entertain the crowd. A bit of a downgrade for Morrison who has been recently challenging and contending for the WWE Championship but it was seemingly the only way to get him on the card. The finish to the match eventually finished with Daniel Bryan being hit with the Chuck Kick and Starship Pain by John Morrison only for Ziggler to throw Morrison out of the ring and steal the victory. Ziggler quickly fled from the ring before raising the US title in to the air.
Wade Barrett defeated. Big Show in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Pretty average match between these two that consisted of more punches being throw than actual wrestling moves. The brawl eventually went all over the arena but and eventually finished with Wade Barrett luring Big Show in to a small space backstage where the Corre ambushed him before Ezekiel Jackson sent him crashing through a door. Barrett would then pin Big Show for the victory.
Michelle McCool defeated. Layla to retain the WWE Diva’s Championship. Amazing Kong was seemingly in the corner of both women in this championship match that has officially seen the end of Lay-Cool. It seems Layla is suppose to be the face of the two and the crowd were getting behind her at some points of the match. Kong played no part in the match and McCool eventually picked up the victory following the Faith Breaker.
Sin Cara defeated. Christian in his debut match. The long awaited debut of the biggest box office draw in Mexico, the former Mistico now known as Sin Cara had arrived. Teddy Long issued an open challenge to anyone on the roster to show Sin Cara how it’s done in WWE and Christian answered his call. A fantastic match that was mainly used to showcase Sin Cara but Christian had his moments as well. The match eventually came to an end with Sin Cara countering the Killswitch in to an impressive lucha pin fall to get the three count.
Cody Rhodes defeated. Rey Mysterio in a ladder match to retain the WWE Intercontinental Champiship. The week following Wrestlemania, Cody Rhodes captured his first singles championship, by defeating Kofi Kingston. This of course ultimately led to this match where Mysterio and Rhodes continue their feud, now seemingly over the championship. The match itself once again proved how good Cody Rhodes has been recently, and Mysterio is doing him wonders in getting his name value up. The eventual finish saw Mysterio being hanged upside down on the ladder seemingly re-injuring his previous knee problems, allowing the masked Cody Rhodes to grab the championship belt.
Randy Orton defeated. CM Punk in a cage match. With the New Nexus having no way to get in to the ring, this was probably Punk and Orton’s first real one on one match with no outside interference at all. Both men looked good during the match but the eventual finish to the match saw Orton counter the GTS in to the RKO to pick up the victory.
Alberto Del Rio defeated. Edge in a submission match to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Del Rio and Edge had a fun back n forth match with both men locking in several different submissions in hope of winning the match. Del Rio worked Edge’s arm for a lot of the match just like he has been doing since before Wrestlemania but at the same time, Edge had been taking out Del Rio’s leg in the weeks leading to the PPV, causing Del Rio to limp around the ring. The finish to the match eventually arrived with a ref bump leading to Christian running down to the ring with a steel chair. As Del Rio stood it seemed like Christian was about to swing the chair at him before turning around and smacking the chair of Edge’s injured arm. The crowd looked on stunned as Christian left the ring looking angry. Del Rio stood still, shocked for a few moments before taking advantage of the situation and locking in the Arm Bar, giving Edge no choice but to tap out.
The Miz w/ Alex Riley defeated. John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match to retain the WWE Championship. With no appearance from the Rock since his shocking Wrestlemania moment of refusing to give Cena the three count, it seemed like Cena would finally get his fair shot at getting back the WWE Championship. Alex Riley was quickly taken care off as the match started with Riley charging at Cena only to be Attitude Adjustment’d over the ropes to the outside of the ring. Miz would take advantage of the situation though and quickly go on the attack. The crowd were really in to the main event and the finish eventually arrived with Cena getting ready to put Miz away only for “If ya Smell, what the Rock is cookin’” to play across the PA System. The crowd popped and boo’d for the Rock’s music as Cena paid his attention to the entrance ramp, hoping to see The Rock. No one arrived however and Cena turned around to duck underneath another Alex Riley attack, again lifting him up for the Attitude Adjustment. This time however, Miz was ready and with a video camera taken from the cameraman, smashed it across Cena’s head, sending him crashing to the canvas. This would be enough to give Miz the victory and the crowd looked on stunned as Miz leaves another PPV as WWE Champion.

WWE WrestleMania XXVII: Sunday 3rd April 2011...I'm not sure about Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis winning the WWE Tag Team Championships at all. Because Curtis was meant to be teaming with R-Truth for the tag team opportunity. Secondly, dark match is a terrible spot. You should have played on this scenario a lot better really. Should have saved this title change for RAW or Extreme Rules. Good way to fit everybody unused on the show into a match though. Disagreeing with Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan meeting on pay-per-view, especially opening up. Should have opened up with Money in the Bank really. This match wouldn't have gotten that good reaction in front of the mass amounts of fans in attendance. Ziggler with the win was probably the better decision, and Ziggler as WWE United States Champion is fine, but I hope to see him in the main event scene ending 2011. Drew McIntyre winning Money in the Bank is probably the best thing to do really. The negative thing about the Money in the Bank matches is that we're forever seeing the same combination of guys. Mixed from 2008, 2009 and 2010. Randy Orton and CM Punk would have been fun, a good match and it was the best thing for Orton to win. Would like to see this feud go onwards, though. King Sheamus and Kane in the Brand Supremacy match is dire. Kane's been in too many of these, and Sheamus should have had a better position on the card. Dream team six-woman match with Trish Stratus and Beth Phoenix and Natalya beating Laycool and Amazing Kong is fine, not really realistic for Kong to retain her independent circuit name, in fact I hate the name 'Amazing Kong'. Cody Rhodes beating Rey Mysterio is marvelous, I'm pleased Rhodes won this. Liked the detail of Rey in full attire, too. Match is a bit too high on the card I find. Edge retaining the World Heavyweight Championship...I feel it would have been great to see Alberto Del Rio carry SmackDown and see how he got on with that. I feel Christian's addition to the match was unnecessary and lowered the importance. The Undertaker retiring Triple H...another Streak vs Career match isn't too good. Expected 'Taker to win. Would have loved to see Hunter around longer. Sh*t finish to WrestleMania: it worked all those other times but The Rock's heel turn is absolutely useless and unnecessary. The Miz retaining the WWE Championship is fine, but it should have been done so much differently. A decent show, not the best, but to be honest, I didn't like some of the booking.
WWE Extreme Rules: Sunday 24th April 2011...Another dark match performance by Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman is disappointing. Again for the WWE Tag Team Championships. That's sad to see, it really is. You should actually have the NXT Rookies make a pay-per-view defending the titles. I fail to see a problem. Dolph Ziggler retaining the WWE United States Championship is fine I suppose. John Morrison has challenged for that belt numerous times and is never successful, it's a shame he never wins the title. I hope to see a feud between those two, their match series in 2009 was amazing. Wade Barrett beating Big Show, hopefully the end of their rivalry, it's abysmal. I'd like to see Ezekiel Jackson take Show out long term. For the last four months we've seen the exact same formula involved; Show fights off the Corre, falls victim to Zeke. Michelle McCool beating Layla to retain the WWE Divas Championship is alright, could have used a gimmick match for the women. Amazing Kong joining McCool could be alright. Guessing Laycool has ran its course at last. Sin Cara started off great, happy to see it in a normal match, too. But that's terrible for Christian, and the World Heavyweight Championship technically. Christian in the title match at WrestleMania XXVII. Now losing to a debuting superstar. Cody Rhodes is now WWE Intercontinental Champion? I am so pleased. Good defense in the ladder match against Rey Mysterio; Mysterio can live without another title reign. Randy Orton and CM Punk would have had a brutal steel cage match. Alberto Del Rio finally winning the World Heavyweight Championship I'm happy about too. The Miz defending the WWE Championship in a Last Man Standing match is great, I know you're setting up The Rock vs Cena for WrestleMania XXVIII but your build is way too soon and will be long term. In fact, at this stage in popularity I doubt anybody would boo Rock. It'll be like the end of his run in the Corporation. Overall, another decent pay-per-view, would have been a clustered show though and the ordering again could have been better.
