New Generation Wrestling: Roster Introductionby Ace Bennett
Hello to all of my great fans out there. As many of you know, I am starting up a new wrestling promotion that will be based in Syracuse, New Generation Wrestling. Well, the debut roster is pretty much set in stone and I have met some really promising young stars in the making. As you guys know, I want to pass down my knowledge in the business to the stars of the future, and plan on doing just that with NGW. There are currently 17 wrestlers on the NGW roster, and there sure are some interesting characters. Among the men on the roster are:
Ash: A young 17 year old from Indiana. To tell you the truth, I'm excited about this one. He reminds me a lot of myself when I first started in the business, undeveloped and green. I think this could be a project worth working for. I got some plans for him.
Bart McClure: A technical prodigy, McClure is a Canadian wrestler with a ton of confidence. Very good on the mic, could be a good heel for the company. He uses the Sharpshooter to make his opponents submit.
Kevin Craig: Never thought NGW would draw in a guy like this. A redneck who lives out of his truck, Craig is a surprisingly well versed technician who simply loves beating people up.
Dimitri Smirnov: One of my favorites, "The Soviet Sex Machine" is an immigrant who is looking to get the ladies. He showed me some pictures of some exes, and let's just say, this guy doesn't have to best taste in women. Definitely going to be a solid face.
Chase Bryan: A racer on the Washington DC area derby circuit, Bryan is looking to break out into the professional wrestling world. He is a technical worker who finishers opponents with a leg lariat he calls The Pit Stop.
Mac Cox: Meeting Mac was very...interesting. He seems to have an obsession with yours truly. Could make for a good character for some storylines. He is also a pretty good Lightweight worker, and even uses the Syracuse Drop as his finisher. I'm flattered.
Kyle Matthews: The Vancouver native Matthews has got seemingly unlimited resources, and spent massive amounts of money training as a submissions specialist. Matthews can make opponents tap out in multiple ways, especially with his signature Crossface.
Nicky Brown: A high energy technician, Brown knows how to get funky with it in and out of the ring. The guy is probably one of the best dancers I've ever seen, and should be able to use that to get over with the crowd.
Jacob Knight: Now here's a good story. Apparently, Knight was a pastor before doing some sinful deeds and being banished from the church. A solid all rounder, Knight could make an impact with his interesting story and solid mic skills.
Black Cloud: A good character, and very all round good worker. Even though his name could use some work, Cloud has potential to be a star within NGW. He uses an intense move called the Black Blood to seal the deal in matches.
Chris Narcotik: Another Canadian added to the mix, Narcotik will do whatever it takes to win, even if it means cheating his way to victory. Narctik uses a move called the NKO to win matches and wrestles a very similar style to Randy Orton.
Danielson London: A combination of two last names of great independent wrestlers, London has a lot to live up to. He works a very comedic style that the crowd will love. His main problem will be being taken seriously.
Carlos Estevez: An actor gone crazy, Estevez thinks he is some kind of God and that he is the best thing in the world. His crazy personality could lend well to pro wrestling, and this could very well be a character to watch.
David Church and Matt Lewis: The only tag team that has signed up so far, Church and Lewis, who collectively are known as "Country Thunder," are cousins from North Carolina. They are good ole country boys that simply love "wraslin." They work very well together due to their familiarity with one another.
Cole Wright: A character that will work well for a cocky kind of face, Wright is a perfectionist who knows how good he is, and isn't afraid to talk about it. Wright has potential to be a top guy within the promotion and wins matches using a Tiger Bomb into a pin call the Just Wright.
Samael Ahriman: Last but not least, one of my personal favorites. Ahriman is a Satanist, but despite that seems to be a decent guy. However, he will do whatever it takes to reach his goals including lying, cheating, and backstabbing.
All in all, I'm very happy with the turnout. I set up a meeting with all of these guys and told them that the only way they would learn would be to go out there and wrestle matches. That's why NGW is here, so they can do that in front of a live crowd. There will be a show entitles "Next Generation Wrestling Weekly" that will run every Wednesday. I have set up a 16 man tournament with all of the wrestlers on the roster except for Matt Lewis (who lost a match of Rock Paper Scissors against David Church for a spot represented by Country Thunder) will be competing. The tournament will be taking place over the first few weeks of NGW shows. The following is a bracket:
I'm going to be completely honest and say I have no idea how this is going to work out. All I can do is say that I hope for the best and that these guys will actually learn a thing or two about professional wrestling.
