And it got me thinking the obvious answer - humans wrote the Bible. - because that was what I always thought and never questioned. But my knowledge of Christianity is very limited, so was God supposed to have written it or something?
I feel I'm missing something.

Um no. Everyone says the bible was written by man. Christians say it was divinely inspired but still written by man.

Common Christian Theology holds that the Bible was written by men, but that God told them what to write. God basically dictated it and man wrote it down. Now, if you're an atheist, then you believe that men simply wrote it down on their own.

i'm fairly sure many of the stories were actually handed down by word of mouth for generations before finally being collected for 'the bible'.
i'd still like to get my hands on all the gospels that were 'kicked out' - such as jesus killing a dove at a young age out of joy.

Well, I've just watched the video and my mind has literally been blown. Years of logical thought have been completely overruled by this summit of a question. Better let Dawkins know he's been living a lie!!  By the way, I was being sarcastic... No, but seriously. The story goes that 'God' spoke to the guys who wrote the bible. As mentioned, it was dictated. This is the dumbest thing ever. Its common knowledge that man wrote the Bible. I've ONLY just noticed why your sig looked a little off, lmao. LOVE IT. |

It's weird that you can't get high these days and write a book and say God told you what to write...But back then, people were all for it. They just didn't know they were high.
