EWRESTLINGNEWS.COM Reported by: Ryan Clark
- Tonight marks the arrival of the anticipated "2-2-11". Many are still speculating who the returning superstar is, with the most obvious being The Undertaker. Some people are still holding onto the fact that it could be a debuting Sting, but with recent rumors that Sting hasn't had any contact with the WWE whatsoever, it is looking highly unlikely.
- The WWE has been reaching out to a lot of old faces recently at the final stretch towards WrestleMania. With the likes of The Rock, Booker T, Stone Cold Steve Austin and more being brought back to the company, it is expected that they are attempting to give this year's WrestleMania the star power to make it one of the best.
- At Elimination Chamber, we saw two matches made for WrestleMania. We now know that John Cena will be The Miz's opponent at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship, and that it will be Edge defending the World Heavyweight Championship against the 2011 Royal Rumble winner, Alberto Del Rio. Many more matches are expected to be made within the next couple of weeks.
- After much uncertainty about the future of the Money in the Bank Ladder match at WrestleMania, it seems that it will be going ahead. Qualifying matches are being advertised for upcoming Live Shows. It is expected that the WWE Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View will still go ahead later this year, but that could change.

Before the show goes on air, we see a recap of last night's Elimination Chamber event where John Cena became the #1 Contender for The Miz's WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXVII. The segment however is cut short and is overridden by the '2.21.11' video, which has begun a countdown to the end of the show. We then cut to the broadcast.
We open with the usual pyrotechnics display and a huge pop from the Fresno crowd. Michael Cole and Josh Mathews are on commentary and promote last night's WWE Elimination Chamber event. Josh Mathews attempts to hype John Cena's victory, but Michael Cole butts in and starts shouting about how The Miz defeated Jerry 'The King' Lawler to retain the WWE Championship. They are interrupted by the theme of John Cena to a massive pop.
John Cena comes out and says how happy he is to once again be in the running for the WWE Championship, and his recent success at WrestleMania puts him at an advantage. A "Rocky" chant breaks out in the crowd, and John Cena acknowledges this by saying that while The Rock may have said some harsh things about him, his concentration is on The Miz and his WWE Championship. Before he can continue, the theme of The Miz hits and Michael Cole gives him a standing ovation. The Miz and Alex Riley enter the ring and The Miz does his "Really?!" skit. He says that John Cena has no reason to be out here gloating when it was he that pulled of the victory of the century against Jerry Lawler. John Cena laughs and says he looks forward to seeing The Miz try the same at WrestleMania. Miz doesn't take this too lightly and both he and Alex Riley attack Cena. Cena manages to battle back, but The Miz and Riley escape before any serious damage can be done. An e-mail is received from the Anonymous General Manager and Michael Cole reads it.
"And I quote - John Cena, you have no right laying your hands on The Miz before your WrestleMania bout. Tonight, you will put your money where your mouth is and will go head-to-head with Alberto Del Rio in tonight's Main Event!"
The Miz and Alex Riley leave with smug looks on their faces as John Cena looks annoyed that the General Manager has once again favored The Miz and punished him instead. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Ted DiBiase & Maryse def. Daniel Bryan & Gail Kim This was evenly matches until The Bella Twins made their presence felt. While Daniel Bryan tried to fend off Brie Bella, which was the referee's focus at the time, Nikki Bella slid into the ring and drilled Gail Kim with her high-heel boot which she had removed from her foot. Maryse then covered Kim and the referee turned to count the three.
Daniel Bryan turned around to see that he and Gail Kim had lost. He tended to Kim as DiBiase, Maryse and The Bella Twins left with smirks on their faces. Bryan shook his head as we fade backstage.
John Morrison and R-Truth are shown backstage, Morrison still holding his ribs from the previous night's events. Truth says he was impressed with Morrison's efforts last night, but tells him that he doesn't think tonight's Tag Team match against The Nexus is a good idea. Morrison assures Truth that he is fine, and that they will win later tonight, he guarantees it. Truth says that if he is sure, he'll believe him. We then fade to a video package.
We see another '2.21.11' segment, the countdown still rolling towards the end of the show. We then fade to a commercial break.
Commercial Break
We return to see Yoshi Tatsu in the ring with his theme playing. He is obviously ready for action. Suddenly, an e-mail is received and the crowd boo. Michael Cole then reads...
"And I quote - as you will have all seen, this past Friday on SmackDown, Theodore Long fired a certain duo. SmackDown's loss is Raw's gain, and as of now, I would like you all to welcome Raw's newest acquisitions."
Dolph Ziggler with Vickie Guerrero def. Yoshi Tatsu The WWE Universe were shocked to see Dolph and Vickie rehired, let alone to Raw. Ziggler put Tatsu away swiftly with the ZigZag.
Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero celebrate the victory as we fade backstage.
We see Jerry 'The King' Lawler backstage, walking towards ringside. Josh Mathews says he has just received word that he is coming out to the ring to make an announcement. Michael Cole says "It's about time!", obviously assuming that Jerry Lawler is finally retiring. But is he? We cut to a segment.
Yet another '2.21.11' segment is shown, once again counting down. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Raw returns to see the entrance of the WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry 'The King' Lawler. He tells the WWE Universe that last night was his last chance at the WWE Championship, and unfortunately, he blew it. He says that the time has come for him to do something he should have done a long time ago. Suddenly, Michael Cole grabs a microphone and begins to applaud him. He enters the ring and comes face-to-face with him. He says that he is grateful for all the years he has sat by his side and listened to him absolutely butcher the job title of "Broadcast Journalist", and failed sexual humor. He then pats Jerry Lawler on the shoulder and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors. However, Lawler just stared a hole right through Cole and then began to speak. He tells Cole that he has no intention of going anywhere, and that this announcement is far from his retirement speech. Cole looks confused, but listens in. Lawler gets up in Cole's face and says that this announcement is about him not having a match at WrestleMania in his 18 year career, and about how he wants that to change. He says that he is out here to make a challenge... to Michael Cole! The crowd erupt as Cole's jaw drops. Lawler asks him man-to-man if he will fight him at WrestleMania, but Cole backs out, saying he is a professional "Broadcast Journalist" and he will not be wrestling at WrestleMania. Lawler calls Cole a coward, and says he hides behind that laptop like a little child, barking insults, but when it comes to backing it all up, he can't. Cole appears to rethink and then walks up to Lawler, saying he will face him... under his conditions. Lawler smiles and then asks what the conditions are. Cole says that if this match is going to happen, he gets to choose a Trainer to have in his corner. Lawler agrees and then extends his hand to seal the deal. Cole shakes it and the crowd go wild. The pair leave the ring and go to sit at the commentary desk, but all of a sudden, Michael Cole grabs his glass of water and throws it into the face of The King. He scurries away as Lawler looks on in anger. We fade to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE WrestleMania XXVII. Raw then returns.
Jerry Lawler is sat beside Josh Mathews now, ready to commentate, still drying himself from earlier. Mathews says he can't wait to see Lawler shut Cole's mouth, and Lawler thanks him. Raw then continues.
Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga with The Nexus def. John Morrison & R-Truth Picking up on Morrison's injuries from last night, The Nexus are able to pick up the victory following a huge Spinebuster from David Otunga.
The Nexus formate in the center of the ring as CM Punk begins to speak. He says that John Cena got lucky last night, and there are still big things planned for himself and The Nexus at WrestleMania. However, the segment is cut short as Randy Orton bursts into the ring and lunges at CM Punk, but before any real damage can be done, McGillicutty, Otunga and Mason Ryan grab Orton, allowing Punk to trash-talk and slap The Viper, before finally drilling him with the Go To Sleep. The Nexus flee, leaving Orton battered. We then fade to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see the WWE Champion, The Miz and Alex Riley talking backstage. Michael Cole bursts into the locker room as the heat increases from the live crowd. Cole asks if The Miz saw what he just did, and Miz says he did and that he is proud. He then is curious about who Michael Cole is going to choose as his trainer, as it can't be him due to his already busy schedule. Cole says he wouldn't want to hinder The Miz's concentration, so he does have another superstar in mind. He will reveal his trainer next Monday on Raw. Miz pats him on the back and we fade to ringside.
Eve def. Layla with Michelle McCool via Disqualification This was a non-title match, but it never really took off as soon after the bell rang, Eve took control of the match, which sparked an attack from Michelle McCool who delivered a huge big boot to the skull of Eve.
Lay-Cool continued to beat down on Eve, despite the loss, but suddenly, the cavalry came as Natalya and Beth Phoenix rushed to the aid of the Diva's Champion. Lay-Cool fled with smiles on their faces as we fade to a segment.
Another '2.21.11' segment is shown with the countdown. This time, text beneath the countdown reads "He is coming." We then fade to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Jack Korpela is backstage alongside John Cena to a huge pop. He firstly asks Cena about The Rock's comments made last week, which rather annoys him. He says that he is fed up of people asking about The Rock, claiming that it is "Rock this" and "Rock that". He states that The Rock is a tiny thought at the back of his mind right now, and the main focus is getting back the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. John Cena tells The Miz that he better watch his back, because he is coming for the gold. He leaves and we cut to ringside.
Alberto Del Rio def. John Cena John Cena definitely showed that he is indeed fully focused on The Miz, but it still wasn't enough to defeat the 2011 Royal Rumble winner. Albeit, The Miz and Alex Riley did interfere and distract Cena, allowing him to lock in the Rolling Cross Armbreaker.
Alberto Del Rio celebrates as The Miz and Alex Riley retreat. John Cena looks on in anger, but makes sure The Miz is fully aware that he is coming for him at WrestleMania. We then fade to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to Raw to see what appears to be the final '2.21.11' segment of the night, begin a ten second countdown. The crowd count down with the clock and once it gets to zero, the door on the abandoned cabin bursts open revealing a silhouette, which resembles The Undertaker. The crowd erupt as the lights in the arena go out and the whole entrance set begins to show signs of interference.
The theme of The Undertaker follows and he makes one of his epic entrances as he always does, before entering the ring and grabbing the microphone. He states that once again, he has risen from the grave in time to claim yet another victim at WrestleMania. He reminds us of Shawn Michaels' valiant efforts at the two previous events, but says that not even a man of his caliber is capable of putting an end to the Streak. He is about to continue, but to the excitement of the WWE Universe...
The theme of Triple H hits, marking yet another return, right here tonight on Raw. The Undertaker looks on in shock, clearly surprised at the fact that Triple H would actually choose to come out and interrupt him. Triple H comes face-to-face with The Deadman without saying a word as the crowd are on their feet. Both men look up to the WrestleMania sign, looming high above ringside. They then lock eyes once more before Triple H snatches the microphone and simply says "Game Over". The crowd goes wild as The Undertaker's expression does not change. Undertaker does his cut-throat taunt, followed by Triple H doing the DX crotch chop. The two men stare-off as Monday Night Raw fades to an epic close.

-A good start to the show. Miz calling the victory over Lawler "victory of the century" made me laugh. Only thing that was confusing about this was that The Miz and Riley started the attack, and Cena was blamed for it. But it was a decent way to start off the show, and book the main event for tonight too. -Ted DiBiase and Maryse winning was the right call. I love the win for DiBiase. -Ooh I'm excited for the 2.21 promo for tonight. Dolph has always looked good on RAW, so him coming to RAW sounds nice. A good win for him. -Lawler and Cole at WrestleMania is good. I see you are going to have a trainer, just like real life. I hope Lawler can get one too. -Morrison and Truth losing was expected since the injuries he got as you pointed out. -A big win for Del Rio. I never like Cena losing, but it's fine here to give Del Rio some backup as now he can brag that he's beaten Cena. -I was thinking Sting as the 2 21 11 return, but then I seen your signature, which lead me to know that it was probably HHH/Taker. -Good show.

WWE RAW: Monday 21st February 2011...John Cena in the ring to kick off the show was good, liked how he addressed The Rock before The Miz came out to avoid Cena neglecting the WWE Champion in this feud. That is what I hate about the build up to WrestleMania XXVII: it's Cena vs Rock. Miz is like the Chris Jericho in Triple H vs Stephanie McMahon all those years ago. Cena against Alberto Del Rio sounds alright. Ted Dibiase and Maryse with the win out of nowhere? Hmm. Not too sure about that, really. Liked how the Bella Twins got involved though. And Maryse beat Kim in the finish, which is better. But Dibiase's credibility is far gone. Dolph Ziggler beating Yoshi Tatsu is fine, decent win for Ziggler and I like how Ziggler's resurfaced so soon. Poor Yoshi, but would have been a good match. Jerry Lawler's promo with Michael Cole was heated, I liked it a lot. Looking forward to their match at WrestleMania. Wonder if you keep Jack Swagger involved, though. Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga beating John Morrison and R-Truth was odd, but I like the Nexus getting some offense dfor once. Please make Randy Orton and the Nexus' feud non-repetitive. It annoys me how their feud is basically Orton owning Nexus and scaring CM Punk. Eve beating Layla; meh. Still baffles me why Eve is WWE Divas Champion. Cena addressing Rock fully is good. But wow, Alberto Del Rio beating John Cena with help from Miz and Alex Riley was great. The Undertaker returning in the final scene of RAW is best. And Triple H. Nice silent segment like in real life, a good closing to RAW. Decent show, really liked it. Please keep it up.
