So I've always heard good things about Dexter, and people keep telling me to watch the series, so I give it a try. For some reason, I just can't get into it.
I love the concept and story but to me, the show moves sooo slow. I keep hearing it gets better but I don't even think I can last watching the show until it does.
So when does it start getting amazing? I'm about half way of season 2 by the way.

whats so good about Dexter?everything IMO except Carpenter as his sister.
shes a huge weak link in the show.season 2 was my favorite to date.

I agree, I had a hard time getting into it as well but a friend told be it gets better as it goes along too. I might give it another try.

I got in to it with the whole Ice Truck killer mystery. How many episodes have you watched so far?

whats so good about Dexter?everything IMO except Carpenter as his sister. shes a huge weak link in the show.season 2 was my favorite to date. Word on Carpenter, though I'll go further and say apart from Masuka I find the regular secondary characters/main cast pretty lame and the show comes to a screeching halt when Dexter isn't on screen, especially when the other characters get their own storylines (does anyone really care what LaGuerta and Batista are up too?). So when does it start getting amazing? I'm about half way of season 2 by the way. Honestly if you're this far into it don't dig it I don't think you ever will. |

i can't get over how self obsessed he is. the show revolves around him to a painful degree that no one else really has an overall sense of purpose in their lives. that's my take.

Tied with Deadwood and Curb Your Enthusiasm as my favorite show ever. And I agree with some previous posters who have said that if you're halfway thru Season 2 and you still don't like it, then you probably never will. It really blows my mind how somebody could not like this show tho. I'd rank the seasons from Best to Worst as 4, 2, 1, 5, 3.

Yeah, if you're not into it midway through the perfect season 2, you'll probably never dig it.

I must admit I've never watched it as I read one of the books, which I found to be quite deriviative and uninteresting.

I was the same way. I had heard so much critical acclaim for the show, and I've got a bunch of friends that are into it, so I figured I had to try it. I got about a half way through season 1 and just couldn't get into it. I kept telling myself I'd try it out again, and I may, but it just didn't hold my attention enough to dedicate the time to it.

I love Dexter anyone know when season 6 starts Chances are this coming fall. But everything is good about Dexter. I always wanted to donkey  his sister, but thats just me.  I love every season of it. |

I feel bad for a person who can't get into "Dexter." Such an amazing show. Season 4 is one of the greatest things I've ever seen on television.
