that sucks. now we'll never see that battle of the irishmen, sheamus vs. finlay. i definitely think the feud would do well in europe.

TNA will snag him up in heart beat, if WWE doesn't resign him.
Reading this thread makes me wonder if people actually understand the workings of wrestling. For being smarks and reading dirt sheets every day a lot of people here don't seem to understand his purpose or impact on the company.

Big loss as far as being an agent backstage, etc. I think it is an overreaction on WWE's and the National Guard's part. Like someone else said, the National Guard has no issue cheering for Orton who went AWOL and was dishonorably discharged from the Army , but they had an issue with Miz interrupting the National Anthem which is an old school angle that has been done for years?

I think it would've been better if they kept him as a trainer in FCW?

I liked Finlay and felt he wasn't properly used and he was one of their best trainers but if it's something like that happening where it may have offended the Military and since they are big supporters of WWE they wouldn't want to upset them and with the PG Era they don't need people thinking they dislike the military. It sucks but sometimes they have to do things like that. Good luck Finlay

for those of us who don't pay for elite subscriptions to PWInsider - can you please explain what's the reasoning behind Finlay's firing?
Something about Miz interrupting the national anthem and the national guard being upset? What's that have to do with Finaly? Did he book the angle?

Basically he was head booker of the house show and he got blamed for it. It's not clear who came up with it, but Finlay took the heat.

Ugh, he was never in the Army, he was a Marine. Also, it was just a bad conduct discharge, a dishonorable discharge would land him in jail for the rest of his life.

Tad bit of a difference between cheering for a person who happened also be someone who went AWOL from the marines, and being OK with someone interrupting the national anthem. The lack of big picture thinking here never ceases to amaze me. The national guard isn't cheering the fact that Orton went AWOL, he is just a man who made a mistake (which he paid the price for) and that's part of his personal past. Interrupting the national anthem for cheap heat during a show they're practically paying for, that's kind of hard to over look.
Finlay shouldn't have been fired for it, but who ever ordered it (assuming it was him) definitely needed to be reprimanded in some way. What a stupid and poorly thought our move.
