There were rumors last week that the X Division Title would soon be phased out. With the recent addition of Andrew Martin and Matt Morgan along with reports of signing Rikishi and A-Train, it would appear that the X Division is going by the way side.
Current story lines right now only focus on the heavyweights such as Angle, Cage, Sting, Jarrett, Abyss, Tomko, and Steiner.
At this time, it is believed that Kurt Angle will defeat Samoa Joe in the Winner Takes All Match and Angle will form an alliance with a yet to be named partner and carry the TNA Tag titles while the World Title and X Division Title will then be unified there by phasing out the X Division title. This is similar to what WWE did years ago when for a short time they phased out the IC title by unifying the World Title and the IC Title.

also if they're gonna drop the belt, now is NOT the time to do it, what with rumors of WWE creating an X-Division-like title and all..

To bring in a TV title? Sure. To only have World & Tag Titles.. HELL NO! Yeah I agree if they bring in a mid card title sure but if there only gonna have tag titles & the world title then thats stupid.. |

I wouldn't be suprised to see them bring it back quickly if they get rid of it. Most of TNA's audience is the internet audience and they'll raise hell if the X Division title gets taken away. As far as WWE's X Division-like title...they'll do something with it for about a month and it'll end up being pushed to the backburner...or they'll give it to someone who isn't a high flier whatsoever.

really i think if they do do this then part of there audience will be gone.

I seriously doubt the X-Strap will be dropped, it's one of the unique things about TNA & helps give it an identity
