Well..it sure seems that way.
ZUFFA NOT GOING TO RENEW FEDOR'S CONTRACT Posted by MMA NEWS on March 31, 2011 at 5:47am View MMA NEWS's blog
“Business as usual?” Not if you’re the Russian based M-1 Global and their star athlete Fedor Emelianenko…
In a report coming out of Lifesports.ru negotiations for contract renewal between ZUFFA LLC and Fedor Emelianenko have stalled. The implications are such that “The Last Emperor” will not have a contract with Strikeforce or the UFC while their demands for payment are so high.
In short, the ZUFFA Brass has refused to continue negotiations with the Russian’s management and decided to not renew his contract.
It is not clear how many fights Fedor has on his existing agreement, but it is safe to say that unless something changes once those fights are up, he will have to retire, fight for M-1 or find a non ZUFFA affiliated promotion to work for.

Fedor has a few fights left on his contract, so this is a bunch of sh*t.

WOW! I thought they would sign him to a 5 fight deal, maybe. Get in a couple of super fights.

Another shame, how I wish we could see Fedor in the Octagon, even if it's just for one fight...

Fedor vs. Brock would've been a sweet fight. Two overblown fighters in the octagon would've been cool. Brock has the striking defense of a 5 year old and Fedor is past his prime. I joke, but in all seriousness, I would've loved a couple Fedor superfights as well.

M-1 Global: Report Of Emelianenko’s Release From Strikeforce False Strikeforce heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko has not been released from his contract with the promotion. Earlier Thursday, Russian website Lifesports.ru reported that the mixed martial arts legend would not have his contract renewed, but BloodyElbow.com has since learned from M-1 Global official Evgeni Kogan that there is no truth to the rumor. “It’s unfortunate that the site has shown little to no journalistic integrity,” Kogan stated. “This is also not the first time their writers have fabricated a story to create attention. Quite simply, it should be ignored. Should there ever be a change in Fedor’s status, rest assured that M-1 would provide an official position.” Emelianenko, undoubtedly one of the most recognized figures in the sport, was once considered by many the top pound-for-pound fighter in all of the sport, but a two-fight losing streak has seen him plummet down the ranks. He was defeated by Fabricio Werdum in the main event of their 2010 bout and was then defeated by Antonio Silva nearly one year later in the first round of the highly anticipated Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix. Currently, the Russian fighter is waiting in the wings as a potential replacement in the tournament. He is expected to return to action this summer.

Sorry for the dud guys. BJ posted it on Facebook via his website. Had no idea that site wasn't a credible source.

I *think* Fedor has another 3 fights on his Strikeforce contract: when that's up, the UFC will have the option of hiring him - but I wouldn't hold your breathe... I think he'll probably retire. He really should have come to the UFC after PRIDE folded...

I agree with you, I'd love to see him in the UFC, as it does somewhat hurt his reputation having never fought there (the flipside with Sting having never wrestled in the WWE)

I would love to see a Fedor vs. Mir fight. So would I, but just because I don't really like Frank Mir a whole heck of a lot. ;D I think Fedor would CRUSH Frank Mir and as you said, I would LOVE to see it.
