Now that I look back on it, I really think this was on of the greatest years ever. I mean just look at the alumni of superstars we got between early 03-early 04;
RAW HHH Goldberg The Rock Austin Kevin Nash Scott Steiner Kane HBK Orton Batista Hurricane Jeff Hardy D-Lo Brown Raven Christian Test Stacy Keibler Shane McMahon Tommy Dreamer Al Snow Maven (;x) Rodney Mack (;x again) Chris Jericho
...to name a few
Smackdown Lesnar Kurt Angle Hulk Hogan Undertaker Chris Benoit Edge Rhyno Eddie Guerrero Chavo Guerrero Nathan Jones Rey Mysterio Rikishi Billy Kidman Funaki Crash Holly Spanky Paul London Ultimo Dragon Orlando Jordan Scotty Too Hotty Hardcore Holly John Cena Big Show A-Train Matt Hardy Tajiri Akio Sakada Sean O'Haire Shannon Moore Jamie Noble Chris Kanyon Matt Morgan
Tag Teams Evolution Los Guerreros. Haas/Benjamin The Dudley Boyz Booker/Goldust. Storm/Regal. 3-Minute Warning Kane/Rob Van Dam Full Blooded Italians La Resistance Legion of Doom Basham Brothers Too Cool The APA Jindrak & Cade
We also had some great fueds going on, including HHH/HBK/Nash, Lesnar/Angle, McMahon/Hogan, Team Angle vs Los Guerreros, Big Show/Lesnar, Taker/McMahon, Austin/Rock III, Rock/Goldberg, Kane/Shane, Goldberg/Lesnar, Austin/Bischoff to name a few, along with the many people who tried to topple HHH at the top.
I believe this year was the greatest blend of the attitude era and the new era (which we see today) you'll find, not to mention the fact that both brands were pretty much evenly matched...
Just my opinion folks, discuss the great year that was 03.

I always thought 2003 was Smackdowns best year. Raw was abysmal most of the time.
So many great matches on SD side of things.

2003 actually drove me away from watching the WWE. By June of that year I had enough and became a bit of a puro snob. I did come back to watch by the end of 2004 and have been on and off (mostly on) since that time.

I loved 2003, definitely one of my favourite years along with 2001.

smackdown ruled 2003... the cruiserweight division was awsome at that time

I have to agree with the concept that it was much better on SD! than on Raw. Of course, this was the time that Paul Heyman wasin control of SD!. No I don't praise heyman like God or anything, but I will admit that his philosophy of action over queer storylines is much preferred by me. So the whole Brock vs Team Angle mixed with the tag team scene of Mysterio/Edge vs Guerreros vs Angle/Benoit was just great stuff. Man it was a really great wrestling time. I mainly collect the Summerslam's and Survivor Series and of course Wrestlemania's and I have to say that the 2003 is really some of my favorites of those specific PPV's.
The survivor series I really thought would show off Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan who truly are great talents in the ring when they are given the chance.

I loved it back then, it looks like it may start to slowly drift back that way now.

Raw was just not good for me. It was nothing but HHH holding the title it seemed like. SD! was ok. I just couldn't get into 2003 and had to step away with a break. That's just me anyway.

Smackdown was absolutely INCREDIBLE in 2003. Lesnar/Angle was a long, amazing feud that never got old. Cruiserweights shined that year, even getting main event time once in a while. The Tag Division was gold, especially with WGTT. Then you had Eddie, Big Show, Benoit, Mysterio, just gold.

I still think that they should have put the title on Nash at Judgement Day and have HHH win it back in the cell at Bad Blood just to break up his title run a bit. I loved the Nash vs HHH storyline.

far from the best, but it was definetley WWE's most talent stockpiled year, without question

In terms of creativity, it was one of the worst years ever. Also 2003, had WAY too much McMahons on television for my tastes. Linda getting tombstoned by Kane, Shane feuding with Kane and getting the better of him, Stephanie as Smackdown GM and in almost every single segment, and the dreaded feud with her and Vince. Ugh!

Eh, I didn't dig 03 too much and just like someone one else said, it kinda drove me away from watching. But I returned to watching in late 06 and I believe the current product is amazing. HBK, Jericho, HHH, Taker, Edge, whoo!

SD was good but Raw was run by the iron fist of HHH

2002 was RAW's year 2003 was smackdowns year 2004 was mostly smackdowns year, but raw did alot 2005 vice versa w/ 2004 2006 was Raw's year 2007 was the best year for PPV's since 2002 with the end of brand-PPV's, but a pretty bland year for all 3 brands
thats how i see and remember it

2004 was definately Raw year.
All it was for Smackdown was JBL just boringly retaining his belt.
