Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knew what the Legion of Doom did in the time after they left the WWF in the early 1990's before joining the WCW. I heard Hawk went to wrestle in Japan, but don't know the full info on that, what did Animal do at that time?

I remember Hawk teaming with Power Warrior Kensuke Sasaki, to become The Hellraisers in WCW, but Animal I think he may have had a bad injury possibly his back. So took some time off, also I think him and Hawk had a falling out before reconciling a few years later.

Didn't they do an angle in WCW where Hawk was teaming with Sting and Meng broke his arm or something?

Hawk went to WCW. Animal I guess went to WCW aswell.
Then they returned around 1998,99.2000.
Then left again and then returned around 2003.
then Hawk passed away.
Then Animal returned around 05 I think.. anddd WWE ruined his gimmick

On the LOD dvd I am sure it says after Summerslam 92 Hawk went and got wasted with the hells angels (I am not making this up) and I can not remember off the top of my head if he quit or if he was fired as I have not watched the dvd for a while. Animal said that it hurt him that Hawk went to Japan and did the whole Power Warrior thing over there. Sorry can't be more help but like I said I have not watched the dvd for a while.

They were all over the place to be honest for the better part of a decade. Started the 90's in the WWF then went to WCW and or Japan. Came back to the WWF in 1997. Then vanished for a short period. Returned at Wrestlemania XIV as LOD 2000.

I know Hawk went to Japan and started up his own LOD type tag team there.
Also they went to XPW and had a few matches there in Hogan's fed.

XWF not XPW, I'm pretty sure the Road Warriors wouldn't have been caught dead in XPW. Hell Raisers pics: On that one just replace Animal with Hawk, pretty much the same. When Hawk was wrestling in Japan with Sasake as the Hellraisers, appearing in WCW without Animal, etc., Animal was also not wrestling because he was collecting on a Lloyd's of London insurance policy that paid him a ton of money for being unable to work due to his back.
A lot of wrestlers had insurance policies with Lloyd's during this period and milked their injuries to get the insurance payouts. Curt Hennig was one of the most famous ones, because when he jumped to WCW after teasing a comeback in the WWF in 1996, Vince McMahon got angry and contacted Lloyd's of London to tell them Hennig's back was fine, and he was going to start wrestling again. That essentially got Hennig's insurance payments cut off.
Lloyd's will no longer insure pro wrestlers, largely due to guys like Hennig and Animal (although their injuries were most certainly real... they still were not supposed to keep working AND collect on the policy). The condition on the insurance was that you got a payout only if your injury kept you from working, which is why Animal had to sit out while Hawk kept wrestling in Japan and WCW without him.

So took some time off, also I think him and Hawk had a falling out before reconciling a few years later. That is pretty much on the ball with what happened. Hawk had the chance to make more money for his family while at the same time the Hellraisers didn't do much for the legacy of the L.O.D. thus creating some tension between Hawk and Animal. Animal to this day probably holds a small grudge for it as he saw it as Hawk damaging the L.O.D. image in the states. I don't really think it did anything to their image in the states as at the time not a lot of Americans even read about Puro.

Didn't they do an angle in WCW where Hawk was teaming with Sting and Meng broke his arm or something? Kurosawa did that actually. After they left WWF, Animal was hurt and cashed in his insurance. Hawk wrestled in WCW for a time as well as in Japan with Kensuki sasaki as the Hellraisers. They also had a few matches in 96 as part of WCW before they returned to WWF.

After LOD left the WWF, Animal ended up going back to WCW in 2001, but of course wasn't there long, because WCW ended up folding a few months after, but he made his WCW return at Sin in '01.
