It's wikipedia so I thing its safe to assume it is full of crap. You have to remember anyone can write anything on that site, there is no fact checking. From everything I have heard there is no footage unless WWE has some locked away somewhere that will never (thankfully) see the light of day.

^ Agreed and believed to be true. I'm sure any footage WWF had has been destroyed(and rightfully so). No footage was ever aired live as they were showing promos and highlights during Owen's entrance.

They aren't going to release any footage of someone like that dying.

There is a video, there was a thread about it a month or two ago.

Why would you want to see this tragic accident?

I believe Vince McMahon has that footage locked away in his vaults somewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if one day (maybe 15 years from now or so) they make a DVD about Owen's death with some of that footage used in it.

there may not be any WWE footage, but to say ther is NO footage is dumb. there very well could be fan shot footage.

I don't think the general public will ever see footage of the tragedy, but if (and that's a highly speculative "if") WWE cameras caught any of the incident on tape, I'd be shocked if WWE destroyed it. In a twisted way, it's very important footage to save... it would be similar to crime scene evidence (not that this was a crime, but that's a whole other argument).
If the McMahons ever had the fall on tape, I don't think they'd ever sink low enough to release it to the public (via DVD or otherwise), but I also don't think Vince would destroy the video completely. He's too skeptical of the government and others being out to get him... if he thought it might be evidence of WWE's innocence in the tragedy, he'd save it forever, even if the lawsuits stemming from the incident are long over with.

There is video of it. From the main outset camera that is always facing the ring. It is always running and the production team tells when to cut to it. But it is always going. But it will NEVER be released to public. As far as I know there is only 1 copy made (besides the master) and that copy was made for Owens wife. So unless Owen's wife (or maybe children depending on what she did with it. I heard she has it in a safe deposit box incase she decides to pursue a lawsuit which is highly unlikely now) put's it out it will never be seen by our eyes. Thank god.

I am not debating whether WWE has footage or who would want to see it. I just remember someone on WFigs mentioning that same video mentioned on wikipedia and wondering if it really exists.

I believe it's real, I mean someone was bound to have a camcorder and probably managed to catch a second of him falling.

I know someone who has a friend who was working in the WWE in the video editing department or something at the time and they told me that the fall was taped but Vince took the tape and has it locked in a safe hidden deep within the confines of his Greenwich conn. mansion. But who really knows. Rumors are all over the place on this issue. That's my 2 cents.
