Does anyone actually know when they are announcing this?

Of course it'll be good news. He isn't going to get th guy all excited with a "stay tuned" type reply to drop bad news on us. If it was going to be bad news I'd bet he wouldn't have responded.

I really hope its good news....it seems like everyone keeps saying the line is gonna die. If the line dies then so does my collecting days..I came out of collecting retirement just for this line lol

It is definitely going to be the announcement of the next series.....followed by the news that there will be no more after series 8. Andre will likely be in the series, as will Bret. They are doing this to cut costs, only to raise prices yet again. But don't fret, the Legends will continue in the form of Rumblers!!!!!! Unfortunately, Rumblers packs, because of the inclusion of high profile signings will be raised in price by 60%. Yes, this is the worst possible scenario since Rumblers are absolute garbage.

Ok so heres what i know, i originally PM'd Bill to tell him that a lot of wfig'ers were getting very worried about the Legends line and asked him to Help ease our minds with a comment or something along the line. bill replied ; Zom, I hear ya, I'll be posting a statement regarding Legends very soon. Bill So im sure its not bad news, and im not sure when , but im just glad he'll be giving us some info soon; very pumped for this Mattel would not give up such a cash cow as wwe legends, whether its been a cash cow yet or not regardless you can't deny what it can become.

I wouldn't be suprised if they replaced the Legends line with a Superstars line and started bundling a Legend with a current superstar to help leverage sales across both. I would also think because of this they would end up doing 6 superstars again 3 current and 3 legends. This gives you the best of both worlds and allows you to also cut back from 4 to 3 legends a series. I could also see them eliminating the elites series and just combining them with this also making it so they only have the Flexforce, Rumblers, Basic, and Superstar 2 packs.

I highly doubt the Legend line is going anywhere. I'm thinking he'll just confirm that and maybe give us the next line-up.

I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement is that it will be an online exclusive series like Ghostbusters or that Legends will start being included in the Elite waves to replace the Legends line.

I agree with whoever said they don't like the use of the word "statement" in Bill's reply, especially with the ongoing controversy around here on whether the line is going to continue or not. The massive Mattel mark in me wants to go "hey, the line is amazing and everything is great," but the business conscious side of me is sitting back going, "damn it..."
Hopefully it is just a lineup announcement. I think worst case scenario he announces that the Legends line is going to start being incorporated in the Elite lineup. If that does happen, I just hope they incorporate more Legends into the Basic line so we can still get a good mix of guys. Standing by though, nothing to get worked up about until anything actually happens.

Lol there's a lot of doom predictions for the line , I can't see how jakks made it to series 28, 8 csda series, 10 + 2 packs, and would have kept going strong if they didn't lose the contract but yet mattel will just scrap the whole idea
I'd be very surprised to see any news on anything but legends continuing as planned with more strategic choices being made

Honestly, if one legend was incorporated into each Elite series, I would be absolutely fine with it. Two or three would be better, but other lines such as McFarlane's NFL line has done the same thing....as has Jakks with TNA.

If legends were incorporated into elite lines, especially 1 or 2 per wave I would probably just quit collecting, I mean it would be better than nothing but to wait 2-3 months for one figure or 5-6 if I didn't like the figure planned in the first wave, it would be like the end of jakks classic line all over again. Plus it would be nothing but hbk, taker, bret, warrior, macho man, rock and austin. We'd never see guys like earthquake or dino bravo. Let's face it, L1, L2, Two packs all sold worth crap. Legends 3 and 4 seem to have done a lot better and L5 looks to be a complete series buy for many and I think it will do very well in stores.
It took mattel a year and a bit to figure out the game, get their bearings and convince the fans to start collecting, to quit now that the lines getting noticed and starting to gain more popularity? and I think L5 is the begginning of the spike in legends popularity personally, once they get the big stars in the game then the legends line will do better than the modern line
Just curious, how did that work out for tna incorporating different figures into the other line?

I'm really ok with the Legends being 5 per set...even 4 isn't bad. I'm hoping the "announcement" is some new lineups, since series 6 is close to being released and we've got nothing beyond that as of now.

I hope Mattel's marketing department realizes what a cash cow the WWE All-Stars line is.
Mattel's got unique head molds (and in some cases, body molds) sitting in warehouses somewhere in China that they can utilize to crank out more production of Legends AND Superstars that appeal to BOTH market demographics.
Yes in terms of branding, you could argue that the WWE All-Stars series is limited to the roster in the actual game - but it's a game that can include new wrestlers, like the Ted DiBiase Jr/Million Dollar Man patch or unlocking the Road Warriors.
It's a great opportunity for Legends repaints like Sgt. Slaughter in camo, Snuka in bare feet, or even the Road Warriors in red shoulder pads. Likewise for current Superstars to get different attires.
At a SMRP of $24-$26 per set, it's a win-win for everyone!!!
I'd seriously capitalize on a series like that.

I wouldn't mind if Legends became online exclusive, especially if it meant we could get lesser known guys. However, I would mind if they changed the packaging in order to incorporate a Legend or two into the Elite line. I'd like it if they kept some sort of continuity with the boxes the same way Jakks did.

I think we'll be alright. I cant see them canceling the line. However incorporating the Legends into a current line (either by doing a 1 per case or All Star type packs) would be a TERRIBLE idea. Many of your current era collectors are NOT legend collectors and vise versa. I dont want to have to spend $25 to get a Jake Roberts and Randy Orton figure when I know I cant even sell the figure to make up the difference.

i hope we hear some line-ups , signings and whatev. I'd like to hear about legends plans, it would be awesome if they did a wrestlemania heritage series for legends too... just a random set of repaints with a couple new figs.
if quake and gonzalez were announced soon i would mark out, i want some new series to pre order.

I hope we hear some great lineups, I think if Mattel merges the Legends line with current day wrestlers in elite or basic I am afraid I am done. I have no interest in current day Wrestling what so ever, I love the legends line because when I was a kid I loved wrestling, the prospect of getting King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd and Junk Yard Dog figures nowadays is what made me start collecting Legends figures to begin with, I would have bought the Jake Roberts and Macho man figures they released in ALL STARS 2 packs If they didn't come with the other two wrestlers I never heard of. I thought this line was picking up steam, Series 4 and 5 are fantastic, but Series 6 is a complete pass for me, I am hoping for some good news and some great lineups for series 7 and 8

WIth names like series 6 has and the reduction of 4 per set, I don't see the line folding. I hope I am right anyway cause I need more foes for the Von Erichs and the likes of Abdullah, Bundy, and Freebirds would suffice that need!
