don't know why, but this stuff intrigues me, its always cool to see what could of been at one point.
Does anyone have any stories of plans that were booked, but never happened?
Things such as:
HHH winning King of the Ring 1996, Austin/Hogan at WM18, Austin/Lesnar at WM19, The planned rematch between HBK and Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13

Mr. Anderson being Mr. McMahon's illegenimate son
I spelled illegenimate wrong.

Hulk Hogan vs Zeus at Wrestlemania 6 Hogan/Flair, Savage/Roberts, Sid/Undertaker at Wrestlemania 8 Vader beating HBK for the title at Summerslam 1996
There are many more, just those off the top of my head. I'll post some more when I remember.

CM Punk was meant to face Chris Benoit at Night of Champions 2007. For obvious reasons that didn't take place. Apparently the original plans were for Booker T to win the World Heavyweight Title at WM19 but that was changed at the last minute. Eddie Guerrero was supposed to win the World Title before he passed away. Hogan was supposed to job to Shawn Michaels during their feud but went down with an 'injury' before the match could happen.
I am really intrigued by things like this too.

HHH was to face Cena again at WM 23. I believe Christian was the one to be behind the Jeff Hardy attacks.

Like, he was supposed to win the Title within the month that he died.

I believe the reports were that Jeff Hardy was going to win Money in the Bank the year he was suspended (WM24 in 2008).

Batista revealed in his book, that Batista was supposed to face Eddie and Orton in a triple threat the night of eddies tribute, but Orton was to walk away champ. Not Eddie, as everyone had thought. Owen Hart was planned to have ¨The Game¨ gimmick, but when he died they gave it to Triple H. Katie Lea and Paul Burchill were supposed to have an incest angle on Raw. Mr. McMahon was apparently schedueled to be the father of Stephanies child.

I read this so long ago that I don't remember the source (therefore, take it with a grain of salt), but...
When Vince McMahon went looking for someone to play the role of Brutus Beefcake, he was allegedly in talks with Wayne Ferris. Something (injury? illness? contract?) prevented Ferris from taking the role, so Ed Leslie got it instead. They later brought in Wayne Ferris under the Honky Tonk Man gimmick.
This could be a BS legend, but I've definitely read it somewhere.

some great ones mentioned......heres some more
Brutus Beefacke to beat Honky at SS88 for the IC strap-Injury prevented this) Brutus Beefcake to win IC Title tourney after WM6(injury again)
Hawk and Animal vs Ax and Smash over the tag titles.Demolition were to be morphed into unbeatable heels and only LOD would be able to get the job done at WM7.but after Ax hurt his back and Crush was filling in Vince lost interest.
Summerslam 90 was still to play out the same with LOD costing Demolition the title/evening the odds......but they were to regain it at a later point in the year after which the Harts would split.but after seeing Crush didnt work Vince left the taggers on The Harts and used the Nasty Boys as LODs big title winning feud.
such a pity Ax hurt his back so badly.

That reminds me, Terry Taylor(Red Rooster) was originally supposed to get the 'Mr. Perfect' gimmick before it was given to Curt Hennig. Some recents ones include Jindrak in Evolution, and Lance Cade taking on a 'HBCade' gimmick, mimmicking Shawn Michaels. Bret Hart being the 3rd member of the nWo Sid/Warrior feud, Undertaker/Nailz feud
