Man, I am currently watching some RAW's from 1997 and have been watching the whole 1997 year on WWE 24/7 for the last year and I can't believe how this feud is never really mentioned when people post threads about greatest feuds.
Austin/Hart (Hart Foundation) feud is one of the best I have seen. And I am watching it for the first time now, not back then. This was the fued that started the Attitude Era imo. Stuff in this fued were never seen of before this. It was original, long, and just awesome. They were fueding from October 1996 to November 1997 when Bret left WWF.
After watching this amazing fued I put this beyond Austin/Rock and Austin/McMahon, tbh.
Anyone else agree? Disagree? Or want to comment on there feud back in the day?

I think you're right about this because it was the fued, along w/ Austin-Owen that truly allowed Austin to be himself and develop Stone Cold into a viable character.
Plus it did the unthinkable and turned Bret into the biggest Heel this side of Hollywood Hogan. The pure vitriol was incredible and when you factor in that Hart and Austin liked each other personally it led to incredible matches whereby both men trusted each other and were willing to take risks and chances.

Well for one it is never mentioned when people talk about Greatest fueds, which makes it underated to me. People always say nWo/WCW, Triple H/Rock, Austin/Rock, Austin/McMahon, HBK/Hart, Flair/Steamboat, Flair/RHodes etc.

Its awesome, it involves my favorite Bret Hart match (WM13), but I don;t think that fued started the Attitude era, to me, Austin/McMahon started with it.

Thats my all time favorite feud right there.
They started a movement and something that will never be created again. With each passing week, they found new ways to get these two to beat the hell out of one another. My favorite has to be when they had that 'streetfight' on Raw. Almost every segment that night revolved around them! That was great. Then it got even greater when they did the US vs Canada bit which was also an amazing movement.
The feud between Austin and USA vs Harts and Canada is the reason 1997 was so great in my eyes.

The in Canada it was like the opposite. Hart was praised like he was god and Austin was booed. Great times!

I remember watching that as a kid, and Bret was always my favorite, so I was dying for him to kick Stone Cold's ass every week. I remember watching the famous incident with the ambulance, and just being completely shocked. Definitely a great feud.

Yeah, people do forget it. People remember their awesome Wrestlemania match, but their whole feud was done right.

I personally loved it, and they managed to extend it by including the likes of Owen, Bulldog, Pillman, Anvil, Mankind, HBK, L.O.D and many more, also it didn't seem rushed like the tripe they put out today. As mentioned I thought the streetfight episode they did was awesome, like Austin trying to get in Bret's dressing room and when Bret was loaded into the ambulance, Austin was already waiting in there for him, it was tremendous story writing.
I can't help but laugh at the ambulance driver being trapped by having his head wound up in ambulance door window LOL.

Everything about that feud was awesome. They both brought out the best in each other. It was great. ^ Agreed. Plus, it was unique because both wrestlers changed roles during their feud; Austin started as heel and Bret as a face. At WM 13 and beyond, Austin was now the face and Bret was the heel.

Their Survivor Series 1996 match, honestly, far surpasses the WrestleMania 13 match in my opinion. Great feud, great matches.
