i liked some of the stuff Brett did in wcw. i remember he was gonna wrestle Kevin Nash on the tonight show w/leno and it didn't happen though. but nothing Bret did really sucked.

It seemed as Bret didn't care in WCW after what happened in WWF. He never cared to go to WCW and was just not used right either.

I enjoyed the build up for the Goldberg feud & the matches he had with Benoit obviously. Plus I remember his debut match with Flair being a solid old school match. The rest of his WCW run didn't seem to go anywhere & although Bischoff & others in charge deserve a lot of flak for not hyping him up more I also feel Bret could have made more of an effort. Watching him I think it was a combination of Owen's tragedy, really being hurt by the doublecross & just not feeling like he fit in WCW but whatever the reason I didn't see Bret display the heart he had in WWE.
Really Bret going in should have been insane. The competition's top guy for last few years, still in physical condition to go in the ring, loads of brand new feuds that had never been presented before. It should have been HUGE with loads of high profile feuds, but somehow the can't miss senario just didn't happen.

Yeh I think halfway down the line Bret just lost the passion - and then didn't care which way WCW went with him - bookingwise. Its a shame really - when he used to do those worked shoots back in 1997 on Raw - those were really realistic - on the edge of your seat segments.

How would you guys of booked bret then? if you had the chance?
I didnt catch much off WCW when he went, but i would of had him anti - WWE from day one, cutting promo after promo about vince and shawn. Then had (_Insert Wrestler here_) tell him too shut up crying, no1 really cares, startng a feud...

Actually i would have liked to see him clash with the nWo with more intensity - join forces with sting, goldberg etc. and just try and kick them out. Remember before he left the WWF, he had this sort of obsession with trying to get rid of DX - his experience of DX made him think all americans had lost their way etc.. Im a proud canadian blah blah blah. If he had that same intensity against the nWo that would have been so awesome

Hogan was the champ for so long they were running out of people to make feuds with. Bret coming in and starting a feud with the nWo and have a title match with him vs Hogan would have been awesome.

Because in WCW it wasn't good enough to be a good wrestler you had to back it up by being good on the mic instead of th other way around. Bret was never very good on the mic and Bischoff didn't like that. Scott Hall did a shoot interview on WCW and he said that Bret was never really put over like he should have been because of his poor skill on 'the stick'.

He didn't suck so badly as much as the situation he was placed in sucked. But he did loose all momentum when he left the WWF, I truely believe that. But like people say all the time, if 'used right' then who knows how big he could've become. I think he could've done more than he did. Not the level he did in the WWF by any means, but he couldve done so much more.

Bret hated it at WCW. The only reason he went there was because Vince forced him out of the WWF, so he really had no choice.
Any wrestler's book you read about WCW, they all say the exact same thing: the booking crew had no idea what they were doing. Things were always changing, the nWo was running the scenes backstage, and unless you really fought to do storylines that made sense for your character, they would just stick you with the first storyline that popped into their heads. It was just a disaster...Flair, Jericho, Bret, Austin, Eddie, etc. have all said the same thing in their books.

He went for the money as well since Vince couldnt pay him as much anymore.
