I posted some of these in the Customs section, but there aren't a whole lot of Hasbro items in there. Wanted to get some input from my fellow Hasbro collectors. I customize figures, but I don't do a ton of them, and I mostly stick to wrestlers from the Hasbro era based on how I thought certain guys should have been made, or of guys that weren't made and should have been. Yes, part of this is to display my customs.. but also to spark a little discussion on how some figures should have been made instead of what was released. First, the Macho King Randy Savage. I always hated that they basically made 2 of the same figure with the purple tights and either Macho King or Macho Man written on the back. Instead of one of them, I think they should have made a figure from Randy's 91-92 era where he wore shirts in his matches. For my custom I chose his Wrestlemania 7 outfit against the Ultimate Warrior in his career ending match which turned him back to a babyface. Next, the Legion of Doom.. when I was younger, I didn't like the way the LOD was released because with the shoulder pads they weren't too good to play with. They should have been removable shoulder pads, or had a second set of figures released. Here's what I came up with: (i have since painted hawk's face to match the redone body color.. also it's hard to see, but it says Legion of Doom across their waist) Next up, the guy pretty much everyone talks about as being "snubbed" from the Hasbro line and who was rumored to be a part of the "Orange Card" series that was never released... Big Daddy Cool Diesel. I posted this guy here in the Other Brands section, but here it is again.. my version of Diesel: The most inexcusable of all the guys on my list here may very well be this guy... Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart. Why he was never created in his Hart Foundation gear is beyond me. One of the best tag teams of the era, and of all time.. there's no reason he shouldn't have been created like this. I made my custom based on his Wrestlemania 7 attire against the Nasty Boys in what would be the Hart Foundation's last match together for many years. Another small gripe I had was that the Ultimate Warrior was never created with the Texas Tornado type body, or at least with the legs having the tassles all around the boots like that model. I know Warrior pretty much changed his tights for every big event, so I went with one of my favorites: His Royal Rumble 91 USA attire against Sgt Slaughter when he dropped the title. I think this makes more sense than either of his first 2 figures that were relased. Finally, (for now anyway ;D ), I present the heel version of Jake the Snake Roberts. I don't know why a second version of Jake was never released.. or if they were gonna do just 1, at least have something a little cooler and more "Snake-like" than the bland green tights. Here's my Jake custom in his flame tights, famous from his feud with the Macho Man Even made my own Jake MOC So there it is.. 7 Wrestlers from the Hasbro Era that I think should have been made and how I would have made them. Would love to hear your thoughts.. both on my figures and what guys you would have liked to seen made or changed in some way. Thanks!!

The Warrior and Jake are brilliant. Would have loved to see those two produced. Always thought that Jake should have had a second figure. Except for Warrior #2 I never thought the Hasbro Warrior figures were that good.

Very nice idea of incorporating your work into ideas for potential figures.
The re-release of Macho King as "Macho Man" as his tights read was dissapointing. I never found that figure in stores though which was OK. I picture Macho in an outfit similar to the one on the hasbro card, they might not have time to make a Macho Man post retirement outfit but the King full outfit would still be similar.
Legion of Doom with pads would've been alright if the spikes were accurate but maybe sharpe spikes would've hurt someone even though tiny. I never minded the outfits being on the figures if it was at least accurate. They need brown hair too.
Diesel may have been a good add for the 6th figure of the green cards to make it six, like the previous few series, but he was still a "manager" type that weren't released up until Fall 1993. Crush and Yokozuna were easy repaints and Crush only somewhat accurate. Different "Crush" design on top needed. Yokozuna hadn't worn the black tights, white or red belt outfit in some time. A sixth figure besides them would've been nice.
I prefer the tag team sets like Steiner Brothers on a two pack or Smoking Gunns, Headshrinkers, Bushwhackers etc...instead of singles but I guess by the final few series they ran out of wrestlers to make and needed singles to fill the sets of six. A Natural Disasters two pack would've been nice but maybe since Tugboat was originally planned they figured just release them as singles. A Hart Foundation two pack would've also been great but I guess around this time things were changing, like Tugboat became Typhoon and Anvil went from Pink and Black to the Blue pants and announcing some. Hasbro always seemed to be up to a year behind. A Hart Foundation two pack would've been great and maybe a figure to replace Bret as a single like Barbarian or Haku or Hercules. If Steamboat was gone and he was only around a few months the long serving wrestlers should've been made.
That Warrior is the best of all the customs, though all great. Even better than any hasbros. I think the purple tights Warrior was nice, a black tights version with only a small Warrior painted symbol on his cheek may have been something different for release. The white 1989 version of Warrior was released in series 2 so maybe not two white tights Warrior back to back. Though with two purple tights Macho's back to back it's not such a different idea. At least the Warrior's would've been different.
Jake in his heel attire may have been too new. They could've made another Jake though. He was re-released in series 2 and was featured as a mini figure in the Royal Rumble box set so and he was still prominent in WWF though on his way out. Maybe a black tights good guy look or different colored tights like maroon or blue would've worked.

very cool customs brother. I would have love to have a dino bravo,Hercules in baby blue tights, playboy buddy rose, iron mike sharp, barry Horowitz, barbarian, haku, I have been wanting to make a DINO BRAVO for some time now.. it's hard to decide on what head to use for him though.. any suggestions? I also always thought a TUGBOAT should have been made.. I made a custom of him a while back, and it isn't my best work, but I will try and get a picture of him up as well. I also have a MARTY JANNETTY in his tights he wore when they beat the Hart Foundation for the tag titles (which was later overturned) and am going to start the Shawn Michaels to match. Was also thinking of making HERCULES in his Power and Glory attire along with PAUL ROMA. I have one more to add right now though.. he was slightly before the Hasbro era, but I was a big fan as a kid. (I guess it doesn't take much for a young kid to like a guy.. some flips off the top ropes, etc. haha.). Here he is, the BLUE BLAZER:

Great customs - Macho and Warrior are my favourites. The Anvil is also great. I'd like to see the Mannix head Diesel on that custom which I think would make it even better.
I'd love to have seen Power & Glory, Orient Express, Beverley Brothers, Haku and Barbarian released along with Dino Bravo. In terms of heads for Bravo I've seen some Hacksaw heads used but don't think they work. Perhaps a Valentine or Tatanka could work!?
Great post - thanks!

Tatanka might work too actually.. i'll look into it thanks for the suggestions. And I tried to track down a Mannix head for Diesel but couldn't find one. I'll try to get one before I make Diesel 2.0

It's quite a lazy custom but the dino bravo may work on the hacksaw1 mould with a simple repaint of the hair and outfit. Might need to attach different arms

Totally agree on Barbarian and Haku.. they both could have been released as either of 2 different personas too. Haku had the King Haku era and his tag team with Barbarian. And Barbarian could have been released as either a Power of Pain or in his attire from teaming with Haku and also wrestling singles.. with the fur on the boots, etc. I'd love to make a Haku custom, but it's hard since he wrestled barefoot.. would have to either use Snuka legs (which don't really fit Haku), or do a lot of sculpting. Any ideas? Barbarian however is definitely a guy I have had at the top of my list to make for some time now, so I will update this if/when I get around to creating him. And also totally agree on wishing the Hasbro line would have continued.. would have totally liked to see how they'd make Stone Cold, the Rock, DX, Vader, Kane, etc. One custom I love, that I wasn't gonna post here cuz he wasn't from the Hasbro era is Mankind w/ Socko. Everyone makes him using the same lame Duggan repaint.. Check mine out! This might be my favorite one of my collection cuz I was a big Foley fan.

Might need to attach different arms Definitely agree about the Duggan/Berzerker body.. maybe with like Sid type arms.. I think Ric Flair would make a decent head for Bravo, but it might be a little small, plus I don't have Flair parts and wouldn't want to mess with an intact Flair fig that I own. I try to stick to using beat up figures of the more common guys when making customs.

I think it would be nice to see customs posted with figures they could have been released with. For example, the 1992 Jake with the 1992 figures in a ring set up (like the prototypes) with Hulk, Sgt., Perfect and more. Or since guys like Warlord took forever to put out it could be the Undertake them all poster with Warlord, Jake, Sid, Virgil and more. Macho WM 7 could go with the 1992 series, Anvil with Hart and so on...

Here are some of my customs of who should have been made... Purple Taker with tatoos Black Bret Hart... Owen Hart.... Ric Flair - this one is just horrible! the head looks so weird on it, and wrong skin tone too. I think i paid like 5 bucks for it. The Un-dragoned-out Ricky... HBK Proto custom And if Hasbro Kept going until 98-99 Stone Cold... The Rock.... Thanks for looking BK
