ROH Revolution USA 5/6/11 Results:

The show opens with a shot of Kevin Kelly and Dave Prazak, the two men run down the card of the night and send us over to the ring for the first match


"The Prodigy" Mike Bennett w/ Brutal Bob vs. Grizzly Redwood

The Prodigy started his weekend with an impressive, although dubious win over Grizzly Redwood. Bennett dominated the early goings of the match and seemed to have the match in the bag when Brutal Bob hit Grizzly Redwood with brass knuckles as the ref was down. Redwood however managed to kick out at 2 and mounted a serious offence of his own, and nearly had the match won with a Leaping DDT when Brutal Bob dragged him out of the ring. It was at this point that the referee send Brutal Bob to the back and ordered the match to finish without him. It was this distraction, however, that led to Bennett hitting Grizzly with the Prodigy Plant for the win.

The cameras cut to the back where Mark & Jay Briscoe are discussing the first blood match with the All Night Express and the Tag Team Title match with Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team. They say that they are going to teach King & Titus a lesson for trying to make a name for themselves at the Briscoes expense. They then go onto mention that Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team will go down in history as the worst ROH Tag Champions in history when they lose to the greatest tag team in ROH history tomorrow night.

The All Night Express are in the back, they talk about their journey in ROH and Rhett Titus talks about his journey to satisfy the ladies, King goes on to talk about their quest to win the tag titles while Titus continued to make innuendos before finally remarking that the age of the All Night Express starts tonight.


The Briscoes vs. The All Night Express- First Blood Match

This match was a straight up brawl between two teams who have no love lost for each other. This match was not a wrestling match by any means and frankly resembled more of a boxing match. The two teams went back and forth exchanging kicks and punches. At one point Jay Briscoe even bit Kenny King to try and make him bleed but nothing seemed to be working when it came to opening up cuts. The match looked set to end when Jay Briscoe nailed Titus in the head with the ring bell but Titus managed to get his hands up in time and surely managed to avoid a cut. The ring bell was used again later but this time by King on Jay Briscoe. However despite repeated blows a cut did not open on Jay's head. The All Night Express lost the match after Mark Briscoe threw Titus repeatedly into the ringpost causing a cut to open above Titus' eyebrow. While the match ended with that cut, the brawl certainly did not. Titus and King continued to try and prove their toughness to the ROH fans and seemed to have the upper hand in the battle when King hit Mark with the Coronation however this lead to Jay laying out both King & Titus with the ring bell. After helping Mark to his feet Jay signalled that they were coming for the belts.
Winners: The Briscoes

The Kings of Wrestling are shown backstage. Hero calls Eddie Edwards a paper champion and says that although he has been champion elsewhere it's always been his destiny to become ROH World Champ. Claudio says he'll be there for his partner and it begins tonight when they demolish the American Wolves again.


Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team vs. Adam Cole & Kyle O'Reilly

Cole & O'Reilly showed that they have a bright future in ROH by showing the tag team champions that they will not be taken lightly. Haas and Benjamin worked over Cole in the early goings mainly working on his legs presumably to set up for the Haas of Pain. The Champs showed why they are the best tag team in wrestling today with their slick double team moves and quick tags in and out. Cole gained the respect of the ROH fans after he kicked out from Shelton Benjamin's T-Bone suplex and managed to make it to his corner and tag in O'Reilly. O'Reilly showed as much heart as Cole did and came close to winning the match after he hit Haas with a Tornado DDT. Benjamin, however made the save and managed to regain control again. The champs picked up the victory after Shelton Benjamin superkicked Cole and Haas made him submit with the Haas of Pain.
Winners: Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team

After the match Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team raised the titles high and shook hands with Cole & O'Reilly.


Christopher Daniels w/ Truth Martini vs. Colt Cabana

Cabana started the match by attacking Daniels with rights and lefts and chasing him around the arena, from the outset it was clear that Daniels wanted no part of Cabana and hid behind Truth Martini in the early stages. Cabana however had no qualms about laying his hands on Truth Martini and did. The attacks by Daniels and the House of Truth seemed to have brought about a more brutal side of Cabana who grabbed Martini and hit the Colt 45. Daniels made the best of this opportunity and jawbreakered Cabana on the ropes before climbing back into the ring. At this point Daniels took control and looked set to pick up the win after the Last Rites, Cabana however kicked out at 2. Daniels tried to continue his offense but was cut short when Cabana dodged the BME. As Daniels recovered from the missed BME, Cabana got up and stalked Daniels, as Daniels regained his composure in the corner and started to unload chops on Daniels before finishing with a Bionic Elbow. After a near fall Cabana went back on the attack and looked set to win when he had the Billy Goat's Curse locked in, Truth Martini however got on the apron and diverted the referee's attention as Daniels tapped out. At this point Cabana let go of the hold and went after Martini connecting with a lariat. Daniels took advantage of this and rolled Cabana up, however Colt kicked out at 2 and managed to break out of Daniels' attempt to hit Angel's Wings. After breaking out of the Angel's Wings, Cabana hit Daniels from out of nowhere with a huge Lariat. As both men collapsed the ref began the 10 count, Cabana was the first to his feet and locked in the Billy Goat's Curse once again and this time Daniels tapped out leaving Cabana victorious.
Winner: Colt Cabana

After this match we cut to the back. The American Wolves are shown talking about tonight's match with the Kings of Wrestling, Davey Richards remarks that the last time they came up against the King of Wrestling they didn't win and the Kings are one of the only teams who haven't lost to the Wolves. He says tonight this all changes, because they have both excelled since then and are the best in the world in both tag team and singles competition, Eddie Edwards looks disinterested throughout the promo and spends the time polishing his ROH World Championship


El Generico vs. Roderick Strong- No Disqualification Match

Roderick Strong had to come out for this match without Truth Martini as his manager was still recovering from the lariat he received from Colt Cabana. Unlike the First Blood Match from earlier in the night this match involved a lot of technical wrestling. Strong tried to ground Generico by applying various submissions and evidently wanted absolutely no part of the brutal side of Generico that has been seen in the past year. Strong worked on Generico's arms to reduce Generico's ability to hit a brainbuster. Generico managed to escape a cross armbreaker by getting to the ropes, as he got to his feet Strong rushed at him but Generico managed to duck underneath sending Strong to the arena floor. As Strong got up Generico bounced off the ropes and dove onto Strong on the floor below. Generico got up and began to rally the fans and it was at this point he took control. Generico continued to beat down Strong and pleased the crowd when he dove through the first and second turnbuckles to DDT Strong. Generico took Strong back into the ring and tried for the Brainbuster however his arm was weak from the punishment Strong gave earlier. This failure to hit the Brainbuster gave Strong a chance to come back into the match and he responded accordingly by taking Generico down with an array of backbreakers, As Generico was writhing in pain Strong dropped to the floor and retrieved a table. However as Strong tried to set the table up in the ring, Generico started an attack. Generico pummeled Strong with lefts and rights before he managed to hit him with a brainbuster. Strong managed to kick out of the pin at 2 and Generico started to show signs of frustration, Generico set up the table and began pounding Strong with left and right fists and the frustration of not being able to pin Strong led to a slip up by Generico. This missed punch gave Strong the opportunity to come back into the match. Strong capitalised by putting Generico through the table with the Gibson driver and instantly went for the cover. Generico kicked out at 2 showing that he refuses to lose his battle against the House of Truth. Strong then locked in the Stronghold and Generico looked like he would be forced to tap, but Generico managed to make it to the ropes. Strong began to get frustrated and choked Generico until Generico managed to low blow him. Generico then took control once again and picked up the win with the BRAINBUSTAH!
Winner: El Generico

After the match Christopher Daniels and the rest of the House of Truth came to attack El Generico and left him in a heap on the canvas.

A video package showed a replay of Eddie Edwards ROH Title win and the tensions that have been caused within the American Wolves because of this.


The Kings of Wrestling w/Shane Hagadorn vs. The American Wolves II

The match began with Claudio and Davey exchanging holds and trying to outdo each other much to the pleasure of the fans. The two men then started to exchange chops before Richards gained the advantage. Richards tagged in Edwards and the American Wolves took control with a double suplex. Richards & Edwards continued to work on Castagnoli and came close to winning on several occasions but Claudio showed heart by refusing to give up in his fight to tag in his partner. The tensions between Edwards and Richards did begin to show again when the two partners began a one up contest while dominating Claudio and it was this contest that led to Claudio escaping from a DR Driver and making a tag to the fresh Chris Hero. Hero began to unload on Richards and came close to picking up the win after the Hangman's clutch but Edwards managed to break up the pin. At this point Shane Hagadorn jumped onto the apron and passed Hero the loaded elbow pad. As the ref had his back turned Hero connected with a rolling elbow and Richards appeared to be completely out. But somehow Richards kicked out at 2, as Hagadorn watched on in frustration Richards countered the Cravate buster and began to unload chops on Hero, he then made the tag to Edwards who grabbed Hero in the Achiles lock, Castagnoli managed to break it up and the Ricola Bomb looked set to have given Kings of Wrestling the win and put the momentum for tomorrow's title match in Hero's favour, until Edwards managed to kick out just before the count of 3. At this point all 4 men were in the ring and exchanging kicks and punches and it looked as though nobody would go down. Claudio was the first to go down after a kick to the head from Davey Richards. This led to Edwards & Richards double teaming Hero and shooting him into the ropes, Hero managed to duck under the waiting arms of the Wolves and came back with a double lariat of his own. As Hero & Richards were on the canvas, and Edwards was making his way to his feet, Hagadorn slid a chair into the ring for the returning Castagnoli to use. While Hagadorn distracted the ref Castagnoli swung for Edwards but missed and hit Richards instead. After the chairshot Edwards grabbed Castagnoli and had him put away with the Die Hard Driver. However before Edwards could make the pin, Hero nearly took his head off with the Rolling Elbow. Hero quickly pinned Edwards as Hagadorn alerted the refs attention to this. Somehow as the ref's hand was about to touch the canvas for the 3, Richards broke up the pin and all 4 men collapsed on the canvas. As the ref began the 10 count nobody moved. But as he got to 5 Hero and Edwards made their way to their feet as Castagnoli & Richards rolled out of the ring, and in what could be a preview for tomorrow night Edwards hit Hero with the Die Hard Driver and followed it with the Achiles Lock to make Hero tap and give the Wolves the win.
Winners: The American Wolves

After the match Edwards celebrated with his title until Davey Richards came in to join the celebration. After an awkward stare down Edwards left the ring and turned his back on Davey Richards

ROH Revolution Canada Results:

ROH's second show since the death of Larry Sweeney was deemed to be a memorial show for Sweet & Sour and the show opened with a ten bell salute. After this a video package aired showing the highlights of Sweeney in ROH.




Larry Sweeney Memorial Match: Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana vs. Delirious

This Memorial Match for Sweet & Sour kicked off the show in spectacular fashion. Both men shook hands before the match and put on a good comedy match for the fans. At one point Cabana challenged Delirious to a strut off and Delirious accepted. After terrible attempts at struts by both men they decided they'd have a pose off which Cabana won. From this point Cabana took control of the match and looked to put Delirious away, but Delirious wouldn't give in and managed to fight his way back and played to the crowd after taking Cabana down with a leaping lariat. It was this playing to the crowd that led to Cabana regaining control, Cabana looked set to have the match won after the Bionic Elbow but Delirious managed to kick out after 2. The two men continued to go at each other and Cabana set up Delirious for the Flying bunghole, before Cabana could connect, however, Delirious moved. As Cabana got to his feet Delirious stalked him and took him down with the Shadows Over Hell. Cabana kicked out at 2 to a huge ovation and this prompted an "ROH" chant from the crowd. Cabana struggled to his feet and caught Delirious with a Colt 45. out of nowhere to pick up the win

After the match Cabana & Delirious stood in the ring leading the crowd in chants of "Sweet & Sour"

Davey Richards was then shown in the back. He talked about Eddie Edwards leaving him yesterday and remarks that he stills thinks of Edwards as his brother and will wait for him to come to his senses.


Davey Richards vs. Kenny King

Davey Richards & Kenny King squared off in this rematch from the Big Bang. Richards had come out victorious in that encounter and was looking for another win against King here. The two men started the match by exchanging rights, lefts and chops before coming to a stalemate. At this point both men shook hands and Richards took the match to the mat and began to stretch King, King struggled to contend with Richards submissions but managed to fight his way to the ropes and got out of the ring. Richards took this opportunity to play to the crowd prompting a "Best in the World" chant from the ROH faithful. King got back in the ring and began to take the fight to Richards. King grabbed Richards and snap suplexed him to the mat before climbing the turnbuckles. King dove off but Richards dodged the elbow, Richards took control again and began to put a hurt on King. Richards looked to have won the match when King landed awkwardly after a DR Driver II. King showed tremendous heart to kick out after landing on his head which made the crowd root for him, if only momentarily. It was clear however that this landing had taken it's toll and King and he seemed to be out on his feet. Richards capitalised on this and suplexed King before locking in the Cloverleaf for the win
Winner: Davey Richards

After the match Richards checked to make sure King was alright before he celebrated his win.

Christopher Daniels w/Truth Martini vs. El Generico

Truth Martini returned to ringside after his Colt 45. at the hands of Colt Cabana last night, looking to assist Daniels defeat Generico. Generico was still looking to avenge the attacks that Daniels inflicted on him. Generico started the match by going viciously after Daniels and quickly gained the upper hand. Generico once again showed the brutal side that he had used to defeat Roderick Strong last night in Dearborn. Generico was looking to make quick work of Daniels and also looked to get some revenge on Truth Martini. Daniels, however prevented Generico from getting near Martini who was evidently still feeling the effects of the Colt 45. he recieved last night courtesy of Colt Cabana. Generico tried to put Daniels away as quickly as he could but Daniels was not going down with a fight. Daniels gained the upper hand and began unloading chops on Generico. Daniels shot Generico off the ropes and planted him with a sick looking belly to belly suplex which led to a 2 count. As Generico struggled to his feet Daniels downed him with Last Rites but Generico kicked out once again. Daniels began to show signs of frustration and called for Martini to give him a chair. Generico ducked as Daniels swung the chair and dropkicked the chair into Daniels face. Generico began to take control again and looked set to have the match won after a top rope BRAINBUSTAH! but Truth Martini jumped up on the apron to distract the ref. This led to Generico chasing Martini down the aisle which gave Daniels time to recover. As Generico got back into the ring Daniels grabbed him and gave Generico the Angels Wings for the win.

Chris Hero was then shown with Shane Hagadorn, Hagadorn & Hero were talking about how tonight Hero would fulfill his destiny and become the best ROH champion ever.


Steve Corino vs. Mike Bennett w/Brutal Bob

Corino made his return to ROH with a chance to avenge his loss against Mike Bennett at Manhattan Mayhem IV. Before the match Bennett attacked Corino on his way to the ring and threw him into the ringpost which got a chorus of jeers from the ROH faithful. Bennett then rolled Corino into the ring to begin the match and began to throw rights and lefts at Corino before throwing him to the ground and dropping repeated elbows. Corino however managed to get out of the way of one of these and began to take control of the match. After a prolonged period of offense from Bennett, Corino was worn down and there didn't seem to be very much power in his punches or chops which led to Bennett being able to take control again. After even more offense Bennett set up Corino for the Prodigy Plant but Corino managed to get out of it and seemed as though he would mount a comeback when out of nowhere Bennett powerslammed Corino and got a near fall. Corino then finally mounted his comeback and perhaps should have won the match after the Old School Kick but Bennett kicked out after 2. This led to Bennett rolling out of the ring and Corino followed. The two men fought outside of the ring and Bennett hurt both himself and Corino with a Prodigy Plant on the concrete. The match ended when Brutal Bob managed to roll Bennett back into the ring before holding onto Corino's leg as the ref finished counting Corino out.

After the match Steve Corino made his way to his feet to chants of "Welcome Back" from the crowd as he walked to the back

Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team were then shown in the back. They spoke about their upcoming title defense and how the Briscoes can claim to be ROH's Greatest Tag Team but they can't truly claim to be Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team and tonight they will prove who the best team truly is.


ROH Tag Team Championships: Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team vs. The Briscoe Brothers

Benjamin & Haas looked to start off their ROH Tag Title reign with a bang and were given a huge challenge by the greatest team in ROH history. Charlie Haas & Jay Briscoe began the match. Briscoe quickly took control and the 6 time ROH Tag Team Champions began to double team Haas. The Briscoes showed just why they are considered the greatest tag team in ROH history by decimating Haas and isolating him from his own corner. Haas tried to fight his way back to his own corner but the Briscoes managed to keep him away long enough for Jay to Jay Driller Haas. However Benjamin stopped the count at 2 and threw Mark & Jay out of the ring before going back to his corner. It was at that point that Haas made it back to his corner and made the tag to Benjamin. Benjamin came in and cleaned house taking the fight to both Briscoes. The match continued back and forth until the Briscoes tried the Springboard Doomsday Device on Benjamin only to be stopped by Haas chopblocking Jay. The match looked as though it was coming to a conclusion when Benjamin T-Boned Mark but somehow Mark managed to kick out at 2. After this incident the Briscoes came back and gave both Haas & Benjamin a Doomsday Device before Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team kicked out of simultaneous pins. The match continued in a similar fashion with both teams exchanging near falls and big moves before the match finally came to a head after Jay delivered a Jay Driller to Benjamin before being Tiger Drivered by Haas who turned around into a Mark Out. Mark then pinned Haas but Benjamin managed to break it up and Super Kicked Mark for the win.

The cameras then cut to the back to show Jim Cornette. Cornette announced that the winner of the ROH World Title match tonight will face a returning Naomichi Marafuji at Supercard of Honor later this month.


ROH World Championship: Eddie Edwards vs. Chris Hero w/Shane Hagadorn

Eddie Edwards came to the ring looking to kickstart his ROH Title reign with a bang as he took on former Tag Champion Chris Hero. Hero took the fight to the champion from the beginning of the match using a variety of holds to wear Edwards down and to stop his ability to do high flying moves. This offense by Hero really split the crowd in two, with one half willing Edwards on in his first defense and the other willing on Hero to finally achieve his World Title Win. Hero continued to control the match by shutting down all of Edwards offense. Hero called for the loaded elbow pad only for it to be intercepted by Edwards who threw it out of the ring. Edwards then mounted a comeback and locked in the Achiles Lock, he looked certain to win but Hagadorn got up on the apron and distracted the ref. This gave Hero the chance to lowblow Edwards and get out of the ring to find the loaded elbow pad. As Hagadorn distracted the referee Davey Richards came down to the ring and began beating Hagadorn around ringside. Edwards started to shout at Richards to leave as he wanted to do this on his own. At that point Hero nailed Edwards with the Rolling Elbow with the loaded elbow pad and pinned Edwards. Edwards, however, wasn't going down while he could still stand and kicked out just before the referee counted 3. Hero couldn't believe that Edwards had actually kicked out and began to berate the referee before turning round to a Die Hard Driver allowing Edwards to pick up the victory and successfully complete his first title defense.

After the match Davey Richards climbed into the ring to celebrate with Edwards but Edwards shoved him away before hitting Richards with the title and walked out of the ring to a chorus of boos
