Before Vince Jr took over his father's business and made it global, wrestling was split into territories. Does anybody know exactly how many were there? These are the ones I know of...
Northeast(wwf) Chicago area(awa) Southeast(Crockett promotions) Florida run by the Grahams Houston run by Paul Boesch Pacific Northwest Carolinas Dallas(wccw) Mid South run by the Watts family Hawaii(I think that was a territory)
Am I missing any? If so, I'd like to know. Thanks.
Does anybody miss the days when there were territories?

I miss the old territory days. Our local cable channel would show 1 hour of wrestling from a different territory every day. I think it was Monday: AWA, Tuesday: WCCW, Wednesday: IWC, Thursday: WWF, & Friday: UWF.

I would add:
San Francisco (Roy Shire) Los Angeles Calgary (Stu Hart) Georgia West Texas (Dory Funk) Central States (Geigel) Detroit (Sheik) Memphis
All the ones I can think of... I'm sure there's a handful more...
I think the Rougeau and Tunney families also had territories up in Montreal and Quebec...

Also should add Sam Muchnick's territory in St. Louis and Joe Blanchard (Tully's dad) in San Antonio.

Man how can I forget Detorit, Memphis, St Louis, and the Canadian territories? Those were big. Ric Flair won his first world title in the St Louis territory.

you're missing out Portland, ran by I believe the Poffos. I know it's where Piper came from.
There was also a strong territory ran in Indianapolis & Evansville by Dick the Bruiser & The Crusher. My dad remembers fondly of watching them, and moreso my granddad.

You're right about Dick the Bruiser in Indianapolis too, that was a big one... that's where Bobby Heenan first hit it big.
