Yep. Went to 2 Wal-Mart's today and Basic figs went up from $7.97 sale price to a new set price of $10.97. Damnit. So from the original Basic price of $9.97 it's a buck more now.

I noticed this price increase the other day. But its not just the Basic WWE, I also noticed the Disney's Cars and Hot Wheels also went up. All 3 of these are made by Mattel, so I'm wondering if the price increase came from Mattel.

i dunno, i found my melina tonight (finally) and it was only 9.97 -- a little bummed it wasn't 7.97 like they've been for weeks, but the fact that i'm caught up until elite 9 hits is worth it to me....

This is just depressing. First we had Jakks who rarely made a perfect figure. Most were decent to terrible. Now we've got Mattel who give us great figures just about all the time, but they're over priced. I at least want a chair or table or something with these figures.

Mattel told us on here that any increase in price this year is purely from the stores themselves, as Mattel has their $9.99 or whatever it is as the MSRP.

That may be the case. I just noticed the various Mattel items being marked up, so it does make you wonder if maybe production cost may have went up or something. Just a thought.

Mine saw the increase this week as well. Elites are still hanging on at $14.97, but they're probably the next increase to come.

I wish they'd clearance out some of the older Elites, my local Supercenter still has series 2 Ted and Batista filling up one of the three pegs reserved for the sets, which means they can only put them out one case at a time.

If Bill were here, he'd blame the Legends in a heel promo.

Yeah I noticed this too the other day, meant to post it. Welcome to 2011 America...where everything goes up and the consumer is F*ked consistently.

I noticed prices at Target went up on Flexforce ($10.99), Rumblers ($7.99), Rumbler accessory sets ($12.99). Basics, Elites, Legends, DMs stayed the same ....for now.
I'm not a Flexforce hater, I'll buy one, if it looks decent but isn't it ridiculous they now cost more than a Basic?

These prices won't keep from getting the figures I really want, but they will keep me from getting the figures that would be 'kinda cool to have', like Basic repaints, minor attire updates or Legends like Bam Bam or the Von Erichs.

Everything is up by a dollar at the Wal-Mart I was at yesterday. They had the Smash Scenes figures priced at like 18 bucks (or something like that), FF were 10.97, Basics were 10.97, Two-Packs were some price I don't remember, but I'm sure they were higher, as well, Elites were 15.97, and Legends were 15.97. Funny thing is that the had two Legends Terry Funks and one Legends Iron Shiek. However, they must've had a few Funks sitting there for awhile cause, instead of the tag saying "Mattel Legends Figures", it said "Legends Terry Funk"

wow this sucks planned on goin to walmart today might reconsider now..... sike! its only a dollar! I along with some others on this board bought nearly 300 Mattels in 2010. If we buy the same amount in 2011, that's like an extra $300 (maybe less, the years 1/3 over) over the course of the year. Then consider that most of us collect other toy lines which are also going up in price. That's a lot of extra money. Thankfully, it's only a hobby and not a necessity. Lots more important things to worry about.
