I promised after collecting EVERY single JAKKS "CLASSIC" figure produced I would not collect the Mattel figures..regardless of their quality. Well that was short lived. After seeing them on sites then looking at them in the stores I had to have them. I live in the Miami/Ft.Lauderdale area. After Series 2 Legends lines, the new series never made to to the store racks..until this day. I been to SEVERAL Toys R Us, Target, Walmart..you name it..you just get one "SuperFly" on the shelf or a "Dusty Rhodes".
I remember walking into a Target and seeing a British Bulldog and kinda got excited cause I knew the rest would follow soon, unfortunately this never happened.
It made me start to wonder if the line was loosing steam or they (Mattel) were scaling back retail store selling and opting to only have them sold to exclusive internet stores.
I jumped on here and my thought were correct..it looks like the line isnt doing as well as liked..although I LOVE seeing the new figures out..it seems that Mattel or rumors have it that Mattel wants to shut it down.
I've thought about selling off every Classic figure I have and just focus on the better quality and more variety of Mattel Legends figures set to come out.
I know how I am. I will sell of my Jakks Classic and then we will get word that Mattels are going buh bye and I'd be pissed.
If I stop collecting Mattel Legends..I'll get a bug up my butt that in a year or two I'll want to recollect and I'll be so far behind and too far to catch up.
Uggg, if the news is true and we know something around July it will put me in a place that i will knwo what to do collect or not collect.
