So we had a Legends suggestion topic that went on well over 20 pages which proved how much the Legends line is loved. But maybe...like me you were putting up suggestions that may help the line overall but were not your actual wants. I put loads of stuff in there just hoping it may some how help but I didn't really put what I thought/wanted. So my question's are What do You think of the Legends line? What do You think needs improving? What do You thinks great about it? What do you think of past and future rosters for waves? I think the Legends line is Fantastic and my favorite figures/collectibles ever! The only 4 problems Ive had with the Legends line are: 1. Attires - Only 2 characters Ive really been disappointed with which were Sgt Slaughter & Snuka. So for me its been a very minor problem. I actually like Dusty Rhodes and Terry Funk in there figure attires (minority I know) 2. 4 per wave - I really did prefer 6 per wave. 4 doesn't seem enough and there not coming out any faster . Which brings me to my next point 3. Release schedule - I'd love it if they came out more frequently. I collect them all and hate waiting so long for them to come out. 4. Release Locations - No UK release made me sad . I have to pay more due to this fact. Plus I really think the UK wrestling fans would eat these up (not literally) The figures are fantastic. The head sculpts are getting better with each wave and they didn't start off badly neither. Detail, Body sculpts, playability Brilliant. Accessories are brilliant and really add to the figures on display. The packaging art is really great. The roster of the Legends so far has been again Brilliant! We have had A, B & C listers. Colorful and not so. Big and Small. The era's they have come from have been great. I'm a fan of 85 to now so its pretty easy to get it right for me. Ive learned of guys I didn't know from there figures and then researched them online and watched matches. Wave 4 I did struggle with as I didn't know Hillbilly Jim, Mr Wonderful and George the Animal Steele. The nostalgia effect wasn't there for me with them 3. But after getting them and learning about them my collection wouldn't be the same without them. Legends, Legends 2-packs (apart from Roddy Piper) and Defining Moments have been excellent so far (IMO) and here's hoping they all carry on and Mattel gets it right. Theres been lots of negativity recently. I just wanted to inject some positive thinking! ;D

I Would also Like 6 Per Wave, Tighter Release Schedules and Overall Just More News or Communication from Mattel. I Really didnt mind many of the choices, altho im still shocked were up to Series 6 with no Undertaker ,HBK , Bret or Andre... especially when they are all on contract. Wonder Why Sales were Down for L1 and L2 ....hmmm.... . There were a few figures i didnt plan on getting but bought recently out of boredom of nothing to buy, ex; Bob Orton , Terry Funk and figures i was going to wait on But decided not too ex; slaughter, road warriors But I Cant Spend Money on that Horrible Scan 2 Packs Piper, i would have bought it if it had the E.G Head but it isnt worth the price to swap the heads, also that snuka really sucks imo as well.... i dont think i can buy either, hopefully they make better ones down the line someday A Perfect Mattel Line to me would be if everyone who had a Hasbro Release got released by mattel. I'd Love to See Mattel Make Earthquake, King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang because they make some sick Big Guys and They look so good because of their Scale, Also Why i want to see a Giant Gonzalez, If made right the bottom of his chin should be at the height of the top of the undertakers head..... which is sweet, Not to mention he wont be missing any detail and he'll just look Sic Also i cant wait to see The Warlord and Barbarian, The Warlord has interesting Scale on his own but they will have Sweet Accessories.... Hopefully They fix the Distribution problems with the rest of the world , Canada has had problems with legends as well... but all in all i F'n Love this line and hope Mattel makes at least one of everybody

I just noticed on mattycollector.com the SDCC Stay Puft's packaging unfolds to display a City where you can display your collection in front of .....
that would be a great idea for a WWE exclusive but instead maybe a stadium with people in the seats.... one for current and one for legends holding Legend signs like "macho man rules" etc etc

I love everything about the Legends line and I really have nothing to complain about. I have only a minor problem with some of the attires, Snuka, Rick Rude and Jake the snake are my biggest complaints. I would have preferred a long haired Rude a more iconic version of Jake the snake and I think everyone wanted a barefooted snuka. I am not as hard core as others on this board, I collected all the LJN figures as a kid and am really only an 80s wwf fan, and I am only interested in buying 80s legends, stone cold and rock or attitude era figures do nothing for me. Despite the bad sales and all the worrying about the future of the I hope that they continue to make 80s figures. However I have to say that legends 6 is a complete pass for me, I already have a Warrior figure and the others don't impress me at all, I am hoping Legends 7 has the Andre that was supposed to come with the ring.
I want Mattel to go back to 6 figs per set and like everyone I am hoping in time that the 2 packs come back. I am also hoping we get another version of demolition with the belts with different paint design on their faces in a two pack, I also think it would be a shame if the released Hart Foundation, Killer bees or the british bulldogs in anything but 2 packs. So I guess since this thread is my wants I must say that I really want, JYD, Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy, Brutus Beefcake, Andre with afro and a Hulk Hogan figure sooner rather than later.

I forgot to mention a Major gripe of mine.
Scale - I love that they are doing these to scale but IMO there not doing a good enogth job. Mr Perfect, Hacksaw are 2 examples. And Kamala, Akeem, Bam Bam and Vadar been all the same size isnt right either.
The scales good but with parts already released that could give/take abit of size. Mattel could do better!!!

4. Release Locations - No UK release made me sad . I have to pay more due to this fact. Plus I really think the UK wrestling fans would eat these up (not literally) man they arent being released anywhere in Europe-Ireland doesnt get them either-its not just the UK. I think they should go to 6 figures per wave too-1 Tag Team and 4 singles per wave.

I only mentioned the UK because thats where I live lol. I know there only availible in USA and Canada which is wrong.

This was pretty much all covered to death in the official suggestions thread. Mattel hasn't said anything, so they need to keep hearing it What do You think of the Legends line? It is ok, not great, not bad, just ok. That can be changed. What do You think needs improving? I know everyone freaks out when this is mentioned, but the price is too high. Drop it to 13.99. Keep it under 15. over 15 is scary. People say its fine and its worth it, no it isn't. Over 15 for one figure is a poor value. They aren't THAT good that they can be charging over 15 dollars. The outfits so far have largely been just terrible. The Snuka and Slaughter in particular have prevented people like me from adding these iconic superstars to the collection. I know that they wanted to take a hard left away from what Jakks did with the Classic line, but that was a huge mistake. They should have gone forth as if the Classic line never existed. Though I was ecstatic about series 2 Jake, the first release really should have been the one from the All-Stars set. The first Warrior was a poor choice, and I still don't like it. Also, the superstar choices were not strategically wise. I thought series 1 was a terrible lineup. It should have been all A-Listers, like Jakks Classic line. Austin and the Road Warriors were a good choice, that's about it. Michaels, Undertaker, and debut Kane would have started things off with a bang. Even classics purists would look at the quality and that would have been it. Sure sellers. Also, non-Legends like Brian Pillman and Hillbilly Jim should have been released much later in the run. Get people hooked with big time superstars before tossing in the less popular. Classics 1-5: Michaels Bret x2 Andre (albeit a terrible one) Jake Undertaker x2 King Kong Bundy Million Dollar Man Ric Flair Ultimate Warrior x 2 (and great ones, far better than Legends 4) Yokozuna Roddy Piper Legends 1-5: Randy Savage Steve Austin LOD Demolition Rock Jake Warrior Classic 2 Packs 1: LOD, Rockers, Harts Legends 2 packs:......1 terrible Piper 2-Packs 1 was an epic failure. Just terrible all around. A re-release of the LOD in red would have been perfect...alonbg with 2 other packs that didn't suck. I don't think the lineup could have been worse if they tried. We know the Rockers are made. They should have been in, as well as maybe the Hart Foundation, Demolition, or Andre and Heenan. The ing Bushwhackers?? A second Iron Sheik when the first is still clogging shelves. A terrible hockey puck-mouthed Piper? Really? What do You thinks great about it? The quality is great, the accessories are good, the likenesses are usually good to great. What do you think of past and future rosters for waves? Pretty much 70% poor choices. I noticed a few days ago that DDP is ready to go. He should be released MUCH later. He is Pillman caliber, and we know how well he sold. I also don't see Legends 6 doing very well at all. I will buy every Von Erich that they make, but most people won't. Where the hell is Andre? They REALLY need to kill off DM, and should have never released EG. We could have had a DiBiase, another Savage, a Piper, a Michaels, another 2 Rocks, an excellent debut Undertaker, another Warrior, a good classic Jericho, a great Michaels (EG), and a pretty decent albeit early Triple H. These all should have gone into the Legends line, though Triple H is debatable. They need to get their $#!t together.

I'm a kid so I don't really know the legends. I've been watching since 2007, and I always go on Youtube and look up classic matches and superstars. Ever since series 3, I have been really familiar with the legends. Rock, Mr. Perfect, George Steele, Randy Savage, Bam Bam, Eddie and Warrior.
I usually don't buy legends but I want to start. But I love the variety, detail and accessories that come with the Legends. The articulation, too. I think they need to get the more famous and important superstars done first. Not Hillbilly Jim or Rick Martel, sorry. variety, detail and accessories that come with the Legends. The articulation, are great about the line. the waves have been getting better since series 3, can't wait for series 6 and further.

weve all had this convo a million times, its nice to throw in an obscure legend/attire per series but they need to pump out the money makers to generate interest, bret, eddie, hogan, diesel, rockers...i love and own akeem but he doesnt scream $$$$

Only 2 characters Ive really been disappointed with which were Sgt Slaughter & Snuka. Exactly, them and Road Warriors, if they made more WWF Era versions I'd be getting them. The era's they have come from have been great. I'm a fan of 85 to now so its pretty easy to get it right for me. This is where I wish they wouldn't stick to that Hogan Era so much, and get 90's more. With Bret Hart, Yokozuna, and more towards Attitude Era. They make all these low card guys like Akeem from that era but no D'lo, Gangrel, Taka Michinoku ect of the Attitude Era? Only Stone Cold and Rock? And again with Defining Moments Austin and Taker. Good to see, but where are the low card guys of more modern fans? Akeem!? And use those WCW and ECW licenses, WWE owns them.

At only 5 Legends waves and 6 finally on its way Mattel has plenty of time to go to all eras. I love the Attitude era for characters nearly as much as late 80's early 90's. Thats if Mattel carries on going.
Quiting the line at this point when they have not hardly touched the attitude era would be a huge mistake ($).
They really need to start pumping them out more. I don't want them to skip on quality though but they seem to be taking a hell of a long time when theres so much money/success to be made from Wrestlers they haven't touched yet.
People will lose interest in the line. Which has already happened with people quiting the line early because of Bill losing his temper, lack of news and delayed wave 6.
The way they pick wrestlers so far doesn't need changing as far as I go. Say they go to the Attitude like they did with the late 80's in wave 4. You'd have 1 A, 2 B, 3 C which could be like.....(a guess)
A = Kane Debut, The Rock or Undertaker B = APA, New Age Outlaws, Rikishi, Jericho or Ken Shamrock C : Perry Saturn, Dean Melenko, Test, Albert, Hardcore Holly, Crash Holly, Too Cool, The Godfarther, Al Snow, Val Venus or D'lo Brown
Fresher in peoples minds mean more sales and I'd buy everyone with Mattel's details and quality.
That doesn't mean I would want just Attitude era as like I said I love the late 80's early 90's. But a wave like that would be great in my book and good for sales too. Maybe just adding a extra A or B lister...

With Akeem being released, does anyone know if Mattel signed Haku. I think a "King" Haku figure would be sweet. Crown, cape, maybe a 2 pack with " the brain" if they do any more 2 packs would be cool.

And i truly think that things will pick up with the Legends line. Mattel, imo, is superior in every category over Jakks and i think people were a bit hesitant at first to buy Legends they already had from Jakks, but i feel Mattel is proving to everyone that they are committed to scale, accuracy, quality. Legends 5 is best series so far with one of the best figures produced so far by Mattel, Bam Bam Bigelow. I think we will see series 5 sales will be significantly better and i think sales will continually go up. As far as rosters...
Of course Hogan and Flair when they can..but until then..
..Big John Studd, Big Boss Man, Dynamite Kid, Sycho Sid, Natural Disasters, Lou Albano, Fred Blassie, Mr Fuji, Jimmy Hart, Slick. Maybe the managers in a combo pack exclusive on RSC or Matty.

firstly i want mattel to do an official legends survey, filled with hundreds of superstar names accross all eras, promotions and fame-levels. everyone's personal wishlists aside, a survey like this will allow mattel to realistically gauge the overall collector demand for certain superstars and how many per case to make. therefore allowing the line to become more successful and more series' be made.
secondly i want to see improved headsculpts, with greater sculpt-depth/detail, and better likenesses. personally i haven't been impressed with many of the mattel legends headsculpts so far, for the most part i think the Jakks CS headscans were better. so yeh, improve the headsculpts.
thirdly I want to see more superstars from the monday night wars era (1995-2001), especially WCW/nWo guys and especially guys who Jakks didn't make in the CS series or who they made badly. so far i've found the lineups to be too old-school heavy, and too WWF-heavy, and too heavy with guys Jakks made well in CS. i want to build on my existing figure collection, NOT "start over".
fourthly, i would like to see Legends sold in the UK. I'm ending up having to buy almost all my figures from ebay or import, which is becoming too expensive for me. if mattel would send them to UK toystores direct the prices would allow me to buy more.
that is just my opinion. i do recognise though that there are a lot of old-school/80s/WWF fans out there, who mattel of course need to cater to as well. the point is, mattel need to balance their lineups so they appeal to MANY different types of collectors. ie in a set of 6, put 1 a-lister from the monday night wars, 1 a-lister from the 80s, 1 b-lister/tag-teamer from the monday night wars, 1 b-lister/tag-teamer from the 80s, then finish up the lineup with 1 classic jobber/female/announcer/manager, and 1 repaint of a previously released figure that sold well in a noteably different look or gimmick to the first figure. then pack the a-listers 3-per case and the others 1-per case. something like that.
the legends line needs to be extensive, covering all eras, promotions and superstar-fame-levels, relative to the demand for each superstar (get this info from a survey). and the appeal of the legends line needs to appeal to a broad range of different fans and collectors.

What do You think of the Legends line? Absolutely love it. I am a committed diehard collector so am always going to buy every figure in this line. What made me do so is I think the figures Mattel make are superb. Best WWE figures to date IMO.
What do You think needs improving? - I don't open my figures so it doesn't bother me as much but I would agree that the scale could be tweaked a little. - If there is any plans to bring back the 2 packs I would say they need to improve character selection. And open the access to buying them to worldwide, rather than have them exclusive to only one chain of stores. - I'm an international buyer so it always going to cost me a good buck to buy them so any price drop would be great. - I agree with those who mentioned about iconic attires. I think the Snuka, Slaughter, Road Warriors etc lesser known attires should/could have come later on. I fully understand what Mattel were trying to do with giving us what Jakks hadn't but I think after hearing their concerns about sales that maybe they got it wrong and should have gone with Barefoot Snuka, Camo Slaughter and Red L.O.D and released the others further down the line. - I'm one for cancelling the Defining Moments line. I think it takes away from the prestige that the Legends line should hold. The Legends line should be top dog but with Mattel declaring that the Defining Moments is the best of best quality wise it kinda takes the spotlight away from the Legends line itself. When DM WM7 Warrior and L4 Warrior were released so close to one another it is an easy choice to skip L4 Warrior. IMO the choice shouldn't have even existed. Legends 4 should have had the WM7 Warrior.
What do You thinks great about it? Its hard for me to answer this in any great detail to be honest. I'm hooked on the product and a diehard collector. All I have done throughout this is mention points that I think could help improve an already great product. If it stayed the same I wouldn't be bothered.
What do you think of past and future rosters for waves? With the future rosters in mind, i think 6 figure per wave with 2 slots taken by a tag team. And maybe with the concerns surrounding the sales I think they could really hit the jackpot with the future lines looking something like this....
Series 7 1. Rockers Shawn Michaels 2. Rockers Marty Jannetty 3. Andre The Giant 4. Yokozuna w/Winged Eagle World Heavyweight Belt (black strap) 5. Brutus "Barber" Beefcake 6. Diesel Series 8 1. Hart Foundation Bret "Hitman" Hart w/Classic World Tag Belt 2. Hart Foundation Jim "Anvil" Neidhart w/Classic World Tag Belt 3. King Kong Bundy 4. Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase 5. Honky Tonk Man 6. Introduction of managers - Maybe Slick or Miss Elizabeth to start with
Well there is just a few thoughts of mine. I could make up fantasy lists for series all night but I doubt I would get even one selection correct.
