I can see both sides of the debate. It's ridiculous that on another thread people were getting high and mighty about what Mattel NEEDED to do. On the other hand, like zombieapocalypse, I'd just like to know if the Legends line is continuing

Mattel doesn't owe any of you 'news.' They are nice enough to reach out at points to ask and or to release information.. but to act as if they OWE it to you is childish. Hell Mattel doesn't even have to reach out to WF for opinions and such but they do. Some toy lines ignore their fans. Be happy for once instead of complaining.... geesh. it's not about mattel owing us or doing us a favor. you make out like a company who provides information/updates regarding their products is just doing it to be nice out of the kindness of their heart... or that a customer who makes enquiries to a company regarding products he would like to buy is somehow being overdemanding or disrespectful... they're the business, we're the customer. they want to make money, we want to buy certain products. customer communication and market research is essential to any profitable business, and is in the best interests of both parties.

no too bothered about the lack of news as we all know what's next dm4, legends 6 and exclusive kane. anyway i prefer it this way because they give us enouh time to catch up with figures. im still on legends 3 and need to buy legends 4 and 5 so at least it gives me time to save up.

If it was business as usual and we were just waiting for new lineups, I wouldn't have a problem with the lack of news.
But with all of the uncertainty of Mattel with them going through an apparent financial crisis and considering canceling the Legends line and them already make some series' fewer than 6 figures and having some waves not having certain guys in them.....yes, I would like more news.
I think the news we all are waiting for has nothing to do with the actual figures.....we want to know what the situation is with the company itself and where we go from here.
People are worried. People are worried about fewer figures per year. Entire lines being canceled? Are we looking at where details are going to start being left off to make up money? Are the prices going to continue to go up?
These are things that people really want to know about right now. We put a lot of money into these things, and right now everyone is kind of in a holding pattern not knowing what is going to happen.

Well they do 'owe' us something if they want us to preorder their products. Honestly, I don't mind not seeing protos for the upcoming lines, but the last bit of news we got from Mattel was THEM blaming US for not buying Legends figures. Nothing to do with the poor distribution or business model.
Considering they do usually update us with prototypes and design news, it would be nice to be kept in the know about future lines. Particularly Legends. For now though, my interest in the line's pretty minimal.

i also would like to hear some news from mattel regarding the future of the legends line in general. they asked us for our suggestions, the topic went to over 20 pages. would be nice to know if they actually read any of it, and more importantly, what have they actually decided regarding the future of the line. i understand that the reps got a bit bombarded with messages from some members, which of course isn't right, but the answer isn't to just totally cut off contact with collectors. we need to know whats going on with important issues like this, and our input into future character-selection and design choices for lines needs to be asked for. communication with the collectors is where Jakks failed in many ways during the WWE line. they often TOLD us what was coming (which would have come whether we knew about it or not). but they barely ever specifically ASKED us stuff that actually affected superstar/design choices. and their occassional "Q&A" sessions were so random, unfair and disorganized. it's so frustrating as a collector to feel like the only input collectors can give is random/unorganized self-made posts all over the place which mattel probably won't even read. what we need is regular, organized, and fair opportunities to give input to mattel that will actually be useful and practical for them to take into consideration. i know i keep banging on about it, but a good start would be to put together a massive official legends survey, filled with hundreds of superstars names accross all eras, promotions and fame-levels. more than anything else, that would give mattel a decent idea as to the demand for certain names in the legends line and how many per case to make. rather than them just guessing who will sell, making them all 2 per case and then complaining that people aren't buying them... I agree with this. I love the idea of an ongoing survey where you can vote 5 guys from date x to date y or whatever. Why Mattel wouldn't want the free focus group we provide on a daily basis is beyond me. Maybe we could vote for like the last guy going into a series out of a list of 5-10 guys that Mattel has come up with? I think we can provide a lot in terms of constructive ideas but it just needs to be focused. I don't feel like Mattel "owes" me anything and I don't think anyone said that or feels that way. I just think it would be cool for them to keep us actively excited about what they are doing. It doesn't have to be massive but maybe show a proto bi-monthly or do a lineup reveal monthly. I just see peoples interest dying down lately and you hate to see that knowing we all want the line to do really well for a long time. I would like to hope we hear something before July, as I feel that is still a ways off, but if we don't then I would expect the reveal at SDCC to be insane.

I'm dying to know if we're gonna get Mattels of the following:
Michael McGillicutty Husky Harris (doubtful since he's in FCW and already repackaged, but he's still on Wwe.com's roster) Mason Ryan Alex Riley Sin Cara (this seems like a no brainer) Brodus Clay Curt Hawkins (Hey they made Ryder & Masters) Trent Baretta (See Hawkns) Tyler Reks (See Hawkins) Ricardo Rodriguez (This figure is a MUST-maybe a 2pack with Alberto) Kharma and the rest of the divas not yet made

Bored is the word all right. Theres only so many ideas I can think of to create topics with to keep the interest up for me and hopefully others. Since collecting WWE Mattels I have never known it like this. It's almost like the WWE lines are already dead. Glad the Legends 6 are coming this month to inject a bit of interest on here and to me again. I still check 3-4 times a day but its starting to get depressing.....I expected Legend 6 MOC pic's today Errrrrrrrrrrrghh.....Well........Heres to waiting

But mattel for sure has a long license with the wwe and last i heard said they will be doing everyone on the roster even trying to get to staff members like Vince McMahon and Commentary team and such. So basically as long as Hawkins sticks around he will be made. I agree also that i would LOVE seeing that list very soon, Especially an updated Nexus Punk, Del Rio, A Riley, Mason Ryan, Brotus Clay, and Kharma.. we can only hope ppl keep buying the figures up making mattel money each month and they start droppin more and more new lines asap.. Seems like were in the break period now as there waiting to release all the new lines they did debut at the beginning of the year now they gonna drop all the fall lines and holiday lines real soon

I'm also quite hopeful of first time in the form Elite figures, like Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, updated Punk, Alberto, Jack Swagger with new scan, the Uso's (probably wont happen though just not popular enough), even Brodus Clay would be an awesome Elite figure to have.

Oh yeah, a Vicki Guerrero figure is also a must. Her Jakks figure does not do her justice.

But see here's the thing. Mattel does not need to have their design team have an account on here to tell us that stuff. Most of us don't go anywhere else for figure news. So the fact that they have an account here and even come to us with news instead of us having to go to them for news IS out of their kindness. Being on here is NOT in their interests. They are a multi-million dollar company whose employees surely have better and more important things to do than to come here and post stuff.

As for having better things to do. I'm sure they have enough time to update us sometimes and hear what people think. If I worked there I like to see reactions from fans of my work, excitement and be able to give news to loyal followers. I'd have thought it would be one of the perks. Hear on this forum is some (most gathered in one place) of Mattels WWE fan base and to interact with them is only going to help them and us the loyal fans.
