could akiyama legit cut to 170? it seems hes fairly jacked at 185. I'm not sure man. It could be a tough cut for him. However, at the same time, it may also be his career and future with the company on the line....We'll see though.

He doesn't cut any weight to get to 185.

He doesn't cut any weight to get to 185. That still doesn't mean it will be an easy cut for him to get to 170. It could be difficult for him, you never know.

There shouldnt be any problems with him cutting that weight, I think it was already discussed before he signed on for the Vitor fight. Hell, AJ looks like AT LEAST a weight class above Akiyama and he is still able to cut to 170.

That's what I like to see... Vitor who isn't afraid to fight. The Vitor that fought Anderson? Scared sh*tless.

Hell, AJ looks like AT LEAST a weight class above Akiyama and he is still able to cut to 170. Yeah, that's definitely true. No denying that. I'm just simply saying that it could be difficult for him. Some guys have a hard time making the weight cuts on time. Hell, look at last night. Ivan Menjivar failed to make the weight cut. Others that have failed to make weight in the past have been: Joe "Diesel" Riggs in his title bout with Matt Hughes, Travis Lutter in his title bout with Anderson Silva, and Thiago Alves not once, but twice. Even the guy you mentioned, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson missed weight in his fight with Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC 104 by six pounds!! Some guys can do it and some guys can't. Some guys have a harder time than others.

So because a small percentage of fighters miss weight, that means its silly for Akiyama to make 170? Hah.

I just said it could be hard for him, that's all. If he can make the weight cut to 170 with no problems, then more power to him. I hope he can. Just get him out of the Middleweight division and save him any further beatings. ;D

If he drops down to 170, I say give him the loser of Hardy/Lytle. Although somehow, I doubt Akiyama will be dropping to 170. I think UFC will give him one more fight at 185 for his job.

Hmmm, okay then. In your opinion, who would you match him up with against next at 185?? Who does he deserve to fight after losing 3 in a row??

Awesome event! Really surprised at how action packed it was, and it looked glorious in High-Def on my new flat screen T.V.
Rashad finished a fight! That was great, but I was surprised at how he willingly brawled with Tito in some of those exchanges. I guess he had a statement to prove, if so, statement was officially made.
Akiyama got killed by Vitor! I figured it would play out like it did, but still felt bad that Sexyama got smashed like that. Vitor is such a tool, oh if his kick didn't happen I would have beat Silva, blah, blah, blah! Total eye rolling moment there. Vitor could have shown more humility saying that if he got another chance at Silva if wouldn't end the same way, but no he has to say "The Kick" was luck. If Stann gets by Chael or even if he loses I would love to see Vitor Vs Stann
Hallman and his speedo gave me the "lulz". Props to Ebersole getting out of that sticky situation and winning in impressive fashion.
Rory MacDonald always continues to impress me. To say I see good things for him in the future is an understatement. I say give him winner of Lytle/Hardy. A fight with Paulo Thiago would be a sick fight also, but I'm not sure how his "grooming process" is going to go.
Going to go watch the press-conference finally.

Evans brawled a little with Tito because Tito isn't really a big threat on his feet. He only blankets people who are clearly better strikers (Rampage, Silva).

Like someone mentioned before, Akiyama/Wanderlei makes most sense.

Akiyama vs. Wanderlei makes so much damn sense....it is a fight Wanderlei "shouldn't" lose by KO but if he did then it definitely would be time for retirement. I think it would be a back and forth battle. I am all for it....
Gutted that Tito lost. But he has been a lot more unpredictable than he has been in years...hopefully he gets franklin or lil nog next.
