Akiyama doesn't deserve another fight in the UFC. He BARELY won the only one that he did win and I remember Joe Rogan said Belcher got robbed and I totally agree. Akiyama lost every fight since, to Leben, Bisping and now Belfort. Get him out. He's history.

look at the list of names you just threw out there... belfort, leben and bisping? belcher is no slouch himself. and 3 of them were fight of the nights. should he be in the co-main event any time soon? hell no... but hes a name, he could definitely kick off the ppvs or be the lead into the ppv on the prelims.

Yeah, I was gonna say, no shame in curling up after eating a knee like that. So glad Rashad's back. Leaves Greg Jackson and suddenly knows how to finish again. I love it.

Yep, great win for Rashad. I thoght the 14-month layoff might have played a factor, but nope. Rashad looked great and finished great. Not too sure where Tito goes from here. Maybe get the loser of Forrest/Shogun??...We'll see...
I don't think Tito is done yet. He's still got some fight left in him. And I would love to see him continue.
A great win for fellow Canadian fighter Rory MacDonald. He looks awesome!! Will we see Rashad/Rampage II?? Or former teammates face off?? Only time will tell and I'm lookin' froward to either one of 'em.

Mad props to Tito, not only for stepping up but also for getting up after that brutal knee to the body. That looked like hell. I'd be in the hospital for a year after that.
Akiyama... man. That was Vitor Belfort right there. What a flurry and finish.

Sure, it's a tremendous list of names, but as I said, he BARELY squeaked by with a win in his first fight in the UFC over Belcher, which was a razor thin split decision. And every fight since, he's lost. He got tapped out by Leben, lost a decision to Bisping and got knocked the out in short order by Belfort. 3 straight losses in a row. I think he should be cut. If he's not cut, and UFC keeps him around, I sure as hell hope he's not on the main card anymore because he doesn't deserve to be. Prelims from here on out for "Sexyama". I'd love to see a rematch with Belcher, seeing as he got robbed the first time out. That's who Akiyama should fight next and if Akiyama loses that one, then he's for sure done.

I agree, I do think Akiyama should be cut from the UFC. 3 straight losses usually equals a pink slip unless you're a main event guy like Wanderlei, Tito or Liddell.
If he doesn't get cut, since they were originally opponents way back and both coming of Round 1 KO losses.... I could see Wanderlei vs. Akiyama getting made. Pretty much career vs. job in that one.

Yeah, but that's still almost like rewarding Akiyama again after losing AGAIN...That's giving him another top spot on the card and that will be another top fight, and in my opinion, he clearly does NOT deserve that. He didn't even deserve to fight Belfort following his 2nd loss to Bisping, but he got it anyway. I know Wanderlei hasn't done well in the UFC either, but he's certainly got to be ranked higher than Akiyama...Come on... I hope they don't make Wanderlei/Akiyama. That's too high of a profile fight for Akiyama at this point. He doesn't deserve a fight like that or deserve to fight someone of that calibre either. Someone much lower in the rankings, I would tend to believe. Like I said, if anything, give him Belcher again and this time, on the prelims. Akiyama isn't worthy of holding a place on a main card any longer. That point was proven tonight.

Sexyama and Wandy makes sense. I wouldn't oppose to that.
I honestly believe Rashad never looked better. Not just physically, but it was a fantastic performance. It was surprising considering how long he's been out for. Not to mention it looked like Rashad was a little more offensive in this fight than he's been in his last few. Perhaps leaving Greg Jackson's camp was for the better. This was the first fight he's finished since Forrest I think?
I truly believe that Rashad Evans will stop Jon Jones, given Rampage doesn't (which, I don't think he will).

Why all the hate on Akiyama? He may have lost his last 3, but they've all been to "name" guys (Leben, Bisping, Belfort) - and 2 of them were very close and Fight Of The Nights... the dude is a warrior and never in a dull fight. And who else on the roster could walk out holding hands with his trainers to "Time To Say Goodbye" - and still manage to look so cool...?
Him and Wanderlei is great match-up... they're both stand-and-bang guys and both in a similar position (roster-wise). Put it 3rd or 4th from top of the card (or maybe nearer the top on a free show... like the *ahem* upcoming UK show...? ;D).
And damn - that was a brutal body shot by Rashad... it looked really painful (Tito was still hurt when he stood up later). Good showing by Rashad. And he didn't tweak his nipple during the intro's which is a plus.

got knocked the out in short order by Belfort. 3 straight losses in a row. I think he should be cut. In Akiyama's defense, the only thing that caused him to get 'KTFO' were the two shots to the back of the head at the end. That's what knocked him out cold. Other than that, he was getting bombarded with punches, and the fight was close to getting stopped either way.

Apparently, Dana was asked if Akiyama would get cut and he said something like "I don't know, I think he should drop to Welterweight and see what happens from there".
Well, if that is the case, then Akiyama/Wanderlei won't happen because Wandy isn't a Welterweight, right??
Who at Welterweight would you match him up with then?? Who does he deserve to fight after losing 3 in a row?? Certainly someone not too high up in the rankings because that would be bullsh*t and completely unfair.
It's got to be someone who's at least lost 2 in a row...Koscheck maybe?? But even then, I still feel with a high profile fight like that you would be rewarding him after losing so much.
I don't know....If he does drop to Welterweight like Dana said, who do you guys think he should be matched up with?? What would be a fair fight for him??

Matt Brown, Martin Kampmann or Dong Hyun Kim.

Matt Brown, Martin Kampmann or Dong Hyun Kim. Ooooh, all are excellent choices, especially Kampmann. That's the one that sticks out to me. I think that one would be a war. Kampmann has 2 losses in a row and would be a great match-up for Akiyama. I'd love to see that one go down.
