Good that you got it working now.
I think thats exactly the problem I had, might have been fifa 11 that didn't work with downloadable squad. Even though I didn't select it, my virtual pro still appears in career mode.

My biggest gripe with Manager Mode is that my virtual pro always requests a transfer about 3 weeks into it. Really annoying as that's the only reason I play Manager Mode.

Second season going well sofar, up until January 1st when Hernandéz told me he wanted to leave. He'd told me before he was unsettled but that he loved the club and he wanted to stay, so it was a bit of a surprise. He's worth £18m but I wanted £25m for him, so instantly rejected the first bid of £15m from Bayern. The board then insisted I sell soon because of paper talk, but luckily the next day Inter bid £25m, so I'm gonna send him to Italy. Will use the money to bump my budget to £65m, which I intend to use £47m of to sign Christian Eriksen and the other £18m of to either sign some world class scouts or maybe a young player, although I can't really think of a position where I need to line up a replacement soon (perhaps striker once Rooney gets on, but tahts a few years away yet, plus I need to make sure that the player is an all rounder like Rooney is). Just finished this January Transfer window. Never had one remotely like it. To put it into context: In the summer I was given £45m, and I sold a few youngsters (Drinkwater, Pogba, Morrisson) to bump that up to £60m. I then bought a bloke called Assaidi on the LW to replace Giggs for £15m. I wanted to spend the remaining £45m on a CAM like Pjanic or Pastore as Kroos had been a bit dissapointing, but both rejected me so I went into January with £45m to spend. Over the first half of the season I scouted some CAMs and came to the conclusion that Eriksen would be the best use of my money. As well as that Hernandez kept saying he was unsettled but that he liked me and the club so didn't want to leave. In December my team looked like this: De Gea Lahm Vidic Ferdinand Evra Kroos Cambiasso Schweinstieger Nani Rooney Young Bench: Lindengaard Smalling Jones Anderson Assaidi Berbatov Hernandez Squad: Evans Rafael Fabio Barrera Park Fletcher Valencia Wellbeck Owen Hernandez then said he wanted to leave at the start of January. I wasn't that annoyed as he was a backup to Rooney and an offer of £25m put in by Inter was £7m over his worth. I sold him and then bought Eriksen for £47m, leaving £23m to spend on either a replacement for Hernandez or a CB to replace Ferdinand, as he was starting to go downhill. I was debating this when, about halfway through January, a £13m offer came in for Wellbeck, £2m above his worth. I accepted, and although I was down to just Rooney, Berba and Owen up top, I was still pretty happy as I only played 1 striker anyway. Then, suddenly, Rooney came out of nowhere and said he wanted to leave. I was gobsmacked, as he had always been happy and was a crucial member of my team, the player I was least likely to ever sell. I decided I wouldn't sell him, and that he would probably change his mind soon anyway. The next day I got 2 bids for him. The first from Arsenal was a joke (£55m, and Rooney was worth £77m), so I didn't have high hopes for the second, from Real Madrid. However, when I looked at it, they had offered £101m. £101 million pounds. I was really torn, but decided I couldn't really turn that money down. I instantly set about trying to buy the one person who I thought could fill Rooney's boots as an all round world-class striker - Cristiano Ronaldo. Rooney was rated 92 and worth £77m, whilst Ronaldo was rated 93 and worth £68m. With the £101m I recieved from Real Madrid I instantly tried to give the bulk back, eventually settling on £88m. I had now swapped Rooney for Ronaldo with a £13m profit, almost all of which I had to put into wages for Ronaldo and another top signing. I was left with £38m, and decided that I was going to replace Ferdinand. I then thought that, as I had brought one player back from La Liga for a second spell at Old Trafford, I might as well do it again, purchasing Pique for £30m. I had £8m left with three days of January to go, and decided that I wanted another striker. However, £8m wasn't enough to go for a decent striker, so I looked to see if I could sell anyone. I realised that, if I shifted Smalling to the right in my backup team and played Ferdinand in the centre (creating a backup back 4 of Smalling-Jones-Ferdinand-Barrera, a kid from my youth squad) I could afford to sell both Rafael and Fabio, who were worth £6.5m each. I put both on the transfer list, and Stoke (who had just become a mega-rich club) bought Rafael for £6.5m instantly, leaving me with £14.5m going into deadline day, where I had never spend any money before. I made offers for Cassano and Llorente, both for £14.5m, and I was deciding which one to offer a contract to when Stoke made another £6.5m bid, this time for Fabio. I accepted and then ignored my 2 previous bids, instead placing a £21m bid in for Negrado, which was accepted, completeing my massive January overhaul. My new team looks like this: De Gea Lahm Vidic Pique Evra Eriksen Cambiasso Schweinsteiger Nani Ronaldo Young Bench: Lindengaard Ferdinand Jones Kroos Assaidi Berbatov Negrado Squad: Evans Smalling Barrera Park Fletcher Anderson Valencia Owen I think my team is better now, but I've never had such a mental window on any FIFA or FM game. Ended up winning pretty much everything, Ronaldo and Eriksen in particular have been cracking signings. Eriksen makes the runs that Kroos didn't when Ronaldo holds up the ball, and Ronaldo also has more ability to go past players than Rooney did. Beat Real in the QFs of the CL which I was delighted about, first 1-0 at the Bernebeau (Erikson slotted the rebound of a Ronaldo shot) then 3-0 at OT, particularly happy as Rooney was playing for them so nice to keep him quiet. Beat Bayern in the semis fairly comfortably, before playing Barca in the final. Before that though, I had to play City in the FA Cup final. Last year's final had been with Liverpool and ended 3-2 after Anderson's injury time winner, and I expected another game with a fierce rival to be similarly tight, despite having thumped them 5-0 in the league the preceding tuesday! I went 1-0 up when Ronaldo scored a belter from 20 yards, but in the second half City equalised through Aguero, who had missed the game a few days before but returned for this. The game was tight, and City's defence were proving inpenetrable, with Assaidi (Young's replacement on the wing after he pulled up with a hamstring problem at the end of the previous game) proving fairly ineffective, so I replaced him with Negredo and moved Ronaldo out to the left. I was on what was surely the last attack of the game in injury time when Negredo, controlling the ball in the box, was pushed over by Kompany. The ref pointed to the spot, and Ronaldo stepped up to take the penalty. He struck a fierce shot, but it was placed poorly, and the keeper managed to get a strong palm on it. Luckily Ronaldo had struck it with trademark force, and despite the 'keeper getting a hand to it, he could only push it into the corner of the goal, meaning for the second year running I had won the F.A. Cup in injury time! Barca pretty much mirrored real life Barca except they had replaced Pique (now in my team) with Mertersacker. Went 1-0 up through Eriksen (he always scores in the big games) before Villa pulled it back to 1-1 right before HT. Just after HT Young scored after controlling brilliantly (vindicating my choice to start him despite still being a bit crocked), but in about the 60th minute Villa again equalized. Almost straight away I attacked and Eriksen made another brilliant run, slotting Ronaldo's through ball to make it 3-2. Then in about the 75th minute I got a free kick just inside the Barca half, which Cambiasso launched into the box. It was perfectly weighted, and Ronaldo's superhuman leap just beat the oncoming Valdes to the ball, which then nestled itself in the bottom corner. 4-2 was the final result, and I was chuffed. Got £45m in the trasfer window, signed Lloris for £25m as hes the best 'keeper in the game and De Gea at 82 was rated 3 points less than my next worst first-team player (Cambiasso on 85). Sold Lindegaard for 3.2m, and using my remaining money to tie up a bunch of players with only 1 year left on their contract. I had to let Park go in the close season because I had no money left to renew his contract, got a wierd glitch where the board told me I got £20m in prize money but it wasn't in my budget. Replaced him with a kid from the youth squad, but I barely played Park anyway so I'm gonna try to loan him out.

. Started a new career with the aim to go from Leauge 2 to the Prem title by changing clubs. I did it last year with 8 seasons, starting with Morcambe ending at Chelsea. This year I plan to do the same. Picked Shrewsbury as my first team, they are far too good for L2. Drew PSG in pre-season then after a draw in my first league game went undefeated in all competitions (which included Carling Cup wins over Championship sides Bristol and Middlesbough and Prem sides QPR and Everton. They just got so much pace, they're unstoppable. One piece of trasnfer I did was to sell a striker and replace him with Noble on loan from West Ham (played default teams, not with the update) Put the rest of the money into a decent scout. Already got some good youths in the club so I'm hoping that can grow with the youth system I got set up. Am first at the moment with something like 12 points clear. I plan on staying first, gain promotion and stay with the team. Firstly because theres a lot of young players (and youth system) and I don't think there will be a better team in L1. Finished the first season with ease. Got knocked out of the FA Cup early on but I didn't mind since I had far too many games to play already. This was because I got the final four of both the Leauge Cup and the J Paint trophy. Lost both legs of the J trophy, and faced Man Utd in the final four of the Leauge cup. Stole a 1-0 win at home over them (somehow) then lost 4-0 at Old Trafford. Had a contract rebel in Jan, who the board sold cheap but I bought some youths from the academy. The rest of the leauge was simple, always at least 10 points ahead from 2nd place. Had a few injury scares at the end of the season, the biggest of which was my top scorer. Since I only have 4 strikers I used a RM as a second striker and it worked well. Won the leauge with a months worth of fixtures left. Both my injured striker and my young striker missed out on the golden boot by one goal. Starting the second season now, had some quite intresting offers from Belgium, Ireland and other random places with the only other English team being the team I beat to get promoted. So I stuck with my team, despite the limited budget. So looking for some cheap players and some cheap loan signings. Deff need another striker and then maybe a good CM.

End of my 4th Season I won just one Trophy being the League Cup, which was another dissapointment. Starting my 5th Season (third with Chelsea), I Signed Mario Gotze and Nathaniel Clyne in the Transfer Window and things started really well despite a minor blip going out o the League Cup in the first Round. I was Top of the League very tight with City and Spurs all the way until January, when Christian Eriksen (89) dropped a bombshell on me and wanted to leave the Club. This was a huge shock as his morale bar was almost fully green and he'd played almost every Game. I had no choice but to offload him to Real Madrid, and use the funds to bring in the next best option in Javier Pastore (88). I also sold Fernando Torres and bought Edison Cavani for £40,000,000, and Ranocchia from Inter Milan for £23,500,000. Iturbe had finally found his form and finished the Season with well over 40 Goals. From here on though things got really tough, as I had a period in which I had Arsenal twice in the FA Cup, City in the FA Cup Semi, followed by Barcelona in the Champions League Semi Finals twice, with Premier League Games against Spurs, Arsenal, Man City, Man United and Liverpool all back to back with no other Games inbetween. Never in my life have I seen a harder Fixture list than this, and it was fair to say that this killed me. My Squad were nackered with Games every 3 days and no time to recover. I went out to Barca 2-0 on Aggregate, managed to see off Arsenal and City in the FA Cup, but ended up losing to Arsenal, United and Liverpool all in the 90th minute, which ultimately cost me the Season. Despite this I still somehow finished Second by 3 points, but these late losses cost me. I won the FA Cup against Spurs in the Final though. Entering my 6th Season now, and this will be my last crack at the Prem. Signed Fabio Coentrao (86) for £25,000,000 despite him wanting £260,000 a week! Also signed Defensive Midfielder Casemiro (85) from Sao Paulo for £23,500,000. Got hold of a 10* Scout too who's bringing in a heap load of good Young Player which I'm going to Loan Out. Current Line Up for the 2017/2018 Season is; GK: T. Coutois (82) RB: N. Clyne (81) CB: David Luiz (86) CB: A. Ranocchia (87) LB: Fabio Coentrao (86) RCM: J. Pastore (88) CDM: Casemiro (85) LCM: M. Gotze (87) RW: J. Iturbe (87) ST: E. Cavani (88) RW: Alexandre Pato (89) Subs: 1. R. Lukaku 2. Mata 3. S. Sam 4. Neymar 5. P. Cech 6. Pedro Tavero 7. Roberto Aguado Just beat Champions Man City 7-0 in the Charity Shield. Also just got Neymar on a Season long Loan with the option to buy him at the end for £50,500,000. Finally won the Premier League and the Champions League with Chelsea. Beat Man United 5-0 with 3 Games to go to put me 5 points clear with 3 Games left. Beat City who were Second 3-2 in the 90th Minute to basically secure the Title. End of the Season I had offers from Club Brugge, Lazio, Juventus and Real Madrid. I'd done 4 Seasons with Chelsea and thought the time was up, despite having put together a really good Squad. I took up the offer from Real Madrid, and immediately started clearing out there Squad, which was full of 60/70's in the Reserves. I brought in Neymar for £50,000,000 and Balotelli for £34,000,000. I then Signed Aturo Vidal for £22,000,000 to play the holding role and Markus Henriksen for £25,000,000 to sit next to him and be my Alonso. I then managed to get a 5* Scout for £9,000,000. Beat Barcelona over 2 Legs in the Spanish SuperCup, and am already running away with the League. I had a few Injuries to Defenders, and with my lack in depth had to give up my 14 Game winning streak to 20th place Santander via a forfeit, which I was gutted about. Current Squad; GK: Casillas LB: L. Caldirola CB: S. M'Bia CB: T. Vermaelen RB: Sergio Ramos LDM: A. Vidal RDM: M. Henriksen LAM: Cristiano Ronaldo CAM: C. Eriksen RAM: Neymar ST: M. Balotelli Subs: 1. K. Benzema 2. E. Cambiasso 3. S. Kagawa 4. Sergio Canales 5. Javi Chavez 6. Pedro Leon 7. L. Diarra Finished my 7th Season (first with Real Madrid). It looked a promising Season until I got severely hampered with injuries. Neymar was ruled out for 7 months, Balotelli was out for 4 months, and I had a lot of suspensions and other injuries to cope with. I knocked out my old side Chelsea in the Champions League before going out in the Quarters to Bayern Munich. This was pretty much down to the fact I had to play 3/4 Youth Players. I then lost the Copa Del Rey Final 2-0 to Mallorca which was even more depressing. I still won La Liga, but I was about 15 points clear for most of the Season, and after getting knocked out of Europe and losing the Copa Del Rey it was a bit of a sour end with little to celebrate. I got offered the City job and another chance to head back to Lazio which was tempting, but I needed a good Season with Real Madrid as this one was hampered due to the lack of depth in the Squad. So I stayed on and with a £109,000,000 Transfer Kitty started straight away at adding to the Squad. I let Pedro Leon and Raul Albiol go for about £15million for the pair as all they did was moan, and Roma came in with a £25,500,000 offer for Kagawa which I couldn't really turn down. I needed a good ball Player and a big name in the centre of the park so signed Cesc Fabregas for £35,000,000. I brought in Eden Hazard for £39,500,000 to replace Kagawa for extra depth, and strengthened the back line by signing Mats Hummels for £22,000,000. With not long to go left in the Window I pulled out one more huge Transfer, and landed Gerard Pique from Barcelona for £21,000,000, on a massive £290,000 a week deal. I'm never a fan of Signing 'obvious' Players on the Game, but I spent 4 years at Chelsea putting together a good, young, realistic Squad, and looking at the Players for Sale there wasn't many other good Players that were still young that I hadn't already Signed. Plus, with me being at the 'peak' of my Managerial Career at Real Madrid, and after being hampered by the lack of depth last Season, the time was right to make sure the job gets done this Season. I've got two 5* Scouts who have brought in a load of good young Players too so the Future is also looking good. Current Squad now looks like this; GK: Casillas LB: L. Caldirola CB: G. Pique CB: M. Hummels RB: Sergio Ramos LDM: C. Eriksen RDM: C. Fabregas LAM: Cristiano Ronaldo CAM: Neymar RAM: E. Hazard ST: M. Balotelli Subs: 1. K. Benzema 2. A. Vidal 3. M. Henriksen 4. T. Vermaelen 5. S. M'Bia 6. J. Santoso 7. Concencaio

Anyone whos promoted youth players, how long do they take to reach their potential? Promoted a LB with 91 potential last season, he got about 20+ games and went up about 2 points to 57 I wasn't expecting him to reach his potential age 19 but I was hoping for him to improve more rapidly.

Does anyone have a link or know how the best way to scout players?
I've started a new year with spurs on the hardest board difficulty so cudnt afford anyone...cleared a lot of fringe players and tried to bring in Rossi for my forward line but missed out when he went to Juve instead...thought it would be better to go for scouted players and develop the team later once I've secured more money after winning competitions and selling other players...

Started a game with Northampton in League Two, want to go from the bottom to the top. They are expected to finish mid table, so far I'm top with 25 points in October, now defeats except to Shrewsbury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, but that was my reserves so not bothered.
Had no money but managed to bring in Ross Barkley on loan from Everton and Chris Sedgewick and Johannes Ertl on free transfers.

Yeah, don't like some of the ratings :/ they've been a bit harsh on Utd imo. Messi's gone down from 95 to 92 which is good IMO, and Xavi from 92 to 91. Ronaldo's gone down from 92 to 90 despite being in rediculous form atm, really think he should've been level with Messi, certainly not below Xavi. They also seem very reluctant to move players up more than 1 or 2 points. On the other hand, I noticed how they've changed a few small things, like Berba now wears a short sleeve shirt and Rooney now wears skins under his shirt. Scholes being in makes me happy too

They obviously don't give a crapand rushed it only changing the bigger teams. Aluko has been one of the best (if not the best) player in the SPL this season yet he's the exact same as he was in 11. Jay Rodriguez only being 71 is pathetic as well.

I think the move to lower Barcelona and Madrid's ratings is because so many people use them online 'cos they are the best. If they drop them a bit then the people abusing them don't have as much of an advantage. That being said, those teams aren't unbeatable. I only use Newcastle in H2H and beat Madrid, with Danny Simpson stifling Ronaldo all of the time.
As for Newcastle's rating I think they should still be a 4 star club. Now that they're 4.5 I'm going to get matched up against 5* users more often. They were one of the top 4* teams, based on how many players had good ratings, now they're barely just into 4.5*. Very happy to have Cisse now, though I did alright with Best online. Tiote should be higher than 78 though.

FA Cup semi-final as Spurs, winning 2-1, Diouf scored an equiliser in 4th minute of stoppage time. Then I make it 3-2 in extra time and hold on until 120th minute, when guess who, Diouf scores for them again. Penalties and Nani misses for me and they go on and win
