Books are just as valid a form of entertainment as music, movies, and television, so this is the official " book I'm reading" thread. Just reply with the book you're currently reading and tell us what it was. Once you finish, you can write a brief review or your thoughts of the book.
I'll start out- I'm currently reading "The Michael Jackson Tapes: A Tragic Icon Reveals His Soul in Intimate Conversation" by Rabbi Shmuley.

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien for my AP class next year. So far, so good. I'll pretty much enjoy any war novel I read.

Last thing I read was "The Heroin Diaries: A Year In The Life Of A Shattered Rock Star" by Nikki Sixx.
I only borrowed it from a friend of a friend, and I've given it back so I can't read it again and give a definite review, but I will say it was an amazing book. It was cool to dive into the coked out mind of Nikki and see what he was going through at the time. And it all stemmed because he couldn't not do drugs. That's what caused the entire book, and his 2 OD's that nearly killed him. He was actually dead once, and somehow was brought back to life.

I'm reading Chris Jericho's first book, "Around the World in Spandex". I've had it since it's release, but it got shelved and I forgot about it until Undisputed came out.
I just finally finished the Steig Larsen trilogy a couple weeks ago after taking nearly a year to read all three. I got so busy during the school year that I hardly had any time to read.

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien for my AP class next year. So far, so good. I'll pretty much enjoy any war novel I read. That was one of the best books I read during my Sophomore --> Junior year of high school [it was assigned reading for the summer just like you]. AP English was one of the best classes. My teacher was awesome.

Enter Night: A Biography of Metallica by Mick Wall
Phenomenal stuff. Best book on Metallica I've ever read. Has great in depth comments from everyone from the early days and a new(at the time in 09) interview with the band. Really comprehensive too, with the first chapter just on Lars, and the second just on Hetfield. 100 pages in and I haven't even gotten to where they released Kill Em All.
Last one I read was Dave Mustaine's Bio. A lot of his stories are in Enter Night as well.

Reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass. Amazing. I've had the first four books in that series for a while now and I want to get into it but I just can't get myself motivated enough to read a huge seven book series. Since the whole series is out, I know I'll want to read one right after the other and I just can't bring myself to make that commitment.

If you enjoy reading then it won't matter, you won't want to read anything else.

Love Wins, by Rob Bell. It explores the possibility that hell doesnt exist, and what Christians have been taught for years differs from the original message of salvation through Jesus. Pretty interesting.
Speed Racer: Mach Go Go Go Vol. 1, by Tatsu Yoshida. The original Speed Racer manga, translated for the first time (if the covers to be believed, lol) Found a box set with the whole manga for 5 bucks at Barnes and Noble, sooooooo worth it.

I'm currently reading the book, The Holy Bible. I can't find any author on any of the copies I looked at though, so I just settled on a regular one.
