Haven't started anything new in awhile but I found The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown at Goodwill for $1 and change and since I read the other 2 books in the series I am gonna start it soon.

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien for my AP class next year. So far, so good. I'll pretty much enjoy any war novel I read. I, too, read that book Junior year of high school. Really saddening novel. The saddest part was the part with the drive-through and driving endlessly around the lake. I did not really enjoy the book because it was so sad.

I'm reading Chris Jericho's first book, "Around the World in Spandex". I've had it since it's release, but it got shelved and I forgot about it until Undisputed came out. I just finally finished the Steig Larsen trilogy a couple weeks ago after taking nearly a year to read all three. I got so busy during the school year that I hardly had any time to read. The trilogy has been sitting on my shelf since august, don't know when i'm going to start them

That was one of the best books I read during my Sophomore --> Junior year of high school [it was assigned reading for the summer just like you]. AP English was one of the best classes. My teacher was awesome. Did you have to write an essay? If so, what was the prompt? I'm really glad a few people on here have mentioned how good the book is. Gives me motivation to read the rest. I don't remember writing an essay my teacher just had this big test on the 3 or so books we were suppose to read over the summer to see if we actually did it. I think we also had to do these journal things but I don't remember doing an essay. I wish we would have spend more time with that book but from what I remember we went into other stuff soon after school came back.

I don't read books often, but the last thing I read were 2 of the How I Met Your Mother tie-in books; "The Bro Code" and "The Playbook". Hilarious and fun stuff.

Jurassic Park always a great read I started re-reading that too. It's a great book but The Lost World is better imo.

Earlier today I was at the library, and I decided to pick up Deception Point. I read Digital Fortress last year, and I have to say that I enjoyed it alot. So hopefully, this one will not dissapoint.

I recently started "Tomb of Hercules" by Andy McDermott after finishing "Hunt for Atlantis." I loved Atlantis, ToH isn't as great as I had hoped, but I want to start the nex few books in the series in the next month

Just started Jericho's 2nd book. I sat down with the intention of just reading a chapter, but ended up reading the first 5. This book is as good, if not better, than his first.
On a somewhat related note, has anyone here read Day by Day Armageddon by JL Bourne? (And if so, the sequel Beyond Exile) Both are terrific books and pretty entertaining audiobooks for anyone interested.
