But seriously, by the sounds of the Legends being in basic in some lines, it could be the Legends line going basic instead of Elite and only having DM Elite. Hope that doesn't happen and Legends get split equally as I wouldn't want them as basics but others will.

I really dont want to see legends go basic but i guess it wouldnt be bad if they made a few basic legends in the heritage line... "Macho King or bust! Seems like they finally answered a bunch of questions isntead of the usual "we'll see!!" or "stay tuned!" Interesting about the distribution...that some retailers try and get the entire wave. So that explains why TRU always gets nothing. Walmart & Target buy out the entire inventory. Terrible business. This, however, scares me: "McGowan111: Is the Legends Line safe? MDT: We will continue to offer Legends figures. Our specific plans will be revealed at SDCC.[/b"
I'd bet they are going to 1 per set Legends with the Elite sets....either that or the Legends line is going to be cut down significantly....like every set will only be 4 figs from now on.
I guess it's better than nothing...but still, I like 5 per set, nice rounded number. Still enough to be a "set"...You do know 5 isn't a round number right? |

The answer to the distribution questioned annoyed me. I think its Mattel's duty to fix the distribution problems. If they have to pull the remaining Elite 5 from Targets pegs then they should do that. Hasbro has done it with Star Wars figures. Why do I run into Hasbro and Lego reps in the toy aisles but never a Mattel rep? Maybe they should strong arm Walmart into giving Legends a try in more of their stores. Legends have never been in my Walmart, No more 2 packs, elite returned at series 7 (and sold out at least 4 times) but skipped series 2 to 6. Why do I have to ask a Walmart manager to order WWE figures? I thought that's what Toy Fair was for? Or send someone from Mattel to Walmart's headquarters, I think it's in Arkansas.

there where super great news specially on the legends line. i got the same answer when i asked about the yokozuna and savio vega legends figs and they told me tht on SDCC will be news of them, i got tht answer on the WWE.com Q&A Mattel Chat. is really cool i really want a savio vega fig, he is the best puerto rican wrestling in wwe.

Very solid answers there. Surprised to get so many straight up yes and no responses. Glad the Benoit/Owen questions were out of the way since I knew they aren't coming. Not that I want Benoit but for those that do...
Is Miss Elizabeth one of the no chance legends like Benoit and Owen? I hadn't seen any distinction of her being impossible like Owen or just extremely difficult like Savage and Steamboat were.
Very cool news about the All-Stars two packs. That opens up a lot of exciting repaint options for Legends and I can always sell the current star on eBay.
Hopefully the Legends news at SDCC is positive and that any Basic Legends are reserved just for managers who don't need the Elite articulation.

The MOTUC subscription is a 12 month commitment to have the cost of a figure + shipping taken out of your bank account or charged to your credit card every month upon the figures shipping to you. At least with MOTUC, most of the figures you are commiting to buy are not revealed until months after the subscription goes off sale, and for that reason I think it would be a terrible idea for the legends line. MOTU has a far less extensive catalogue of characters than the vast histories of WWE, WCW, ECW, NWA, etc. So I see it as much more of a risk if you only intend to collect superstars from a certain era or in a certain attire. I think releasing one, two, maybe even three mattycollector exclusive legends per month is a good idea but a subscription is not. Unfortunately ordering from matty is a pain in the ass and figures tend to sell out in a matter of hours. Personally I only collect divas, so the possibility of getting Trish Stratus, Lita, Wendi Richter, Sunny and others under the heritage banner is exciting, and seems more likely given that divas don't need any additional articulation. I'd rather not have to order anything online if sand when they get around to classic divas.
