I watched WrestleMania X-Seven, and while I still firmly believe that WrestleMania X-8 was the climax of the Attitude Era, I made several points about WrestleMania X-Seven from the beginning of the Attitude in late 97' through to 01':
1) Austin vs Rock rivalry; irony from their WrestleMania XV feud build and match conclusion; also their feud from late 97' to this point.
2) Kane and Undertaker relationship as seen in the Taker/HHH buildup; they went into the era as rivals.
3) How obnoxious the WWF were to go ahead and focus the Gimmick Battle Royal on their time when WCW were kicking their asses (mostly 1993-1996 characters)
4) How far Shane and Stephanie had come since their debuts in 1999.
5) How far Vince has come since his announcer days/the Screwjob
6) How many characters evolved in the period of four years (HHH from DX minion to main event mastermind
7) Technology and production increase from 97' up to 01'
8) Their inclusion of the WCW buyout being strongly used in the Vince/Shane feud to spite everything WCW stood for (even using Mean Gene Okerlund, six days after being employed to WCW, as commentator for the battle royal full of buffoonary)
9) Safe to say, the last stand for the Right to Censor. (Time for the WWF to start becoming slightly less risky for TV companies and sponsor themes)
10) How times change (Chyna, once Intercontinental Champion, now winning the Womens Championship; Test, once marrying Stephanie McMahon, now a midcard face)
11) The quality of this show despite the WWF's significant focus on the XFL at the time.
Any additions?
