LA Park vs. Rush Mask vs. Hair looks to be the CMLL Anniversary Show main event in september.

This could be major news, AAA as a hold on MSG for a September date.

Where has Marco Corleone been? Following TheCubsFan blog, I haven't seen his name in match listings in forever.
I understand that for CMLL their Heavyweight Championship is not necessarily the biggest, most prestigious belt in the promotion.
But still, he is there Champion. And CMLL is starting to bring in some names that him defending the title against could be pretty good.

Watching Triplemania tonight. I tried listening to the English commentary. Not a big fan of it, which is sad cause i normally enjoy Matt Striker on commentary, so i stuck with the Spanish commentators. So far i enjoyed the six person tag match in the beginning. The 4 way Cruiserweight Title match was good with Sammy Guevara winning the title, then Australian Suicide joined MAD. The 4 way Mixed Tag Title match was OK. Why the f*** is Nino Hamburgesa and Big Mami still the champs? Can't stand them, especially Big Mami. The 4 way Tag Team Ladder match was insane. Not a fan of Flamita and Bandido winning, but oh well. Then they waste like 15 mins on an in ring segment with MAD and Vampiro. MAD is basically the 2018 version of La Legion Extranjera. Its like the 4th or 5th NWO type storyline that AAA has booked. Ironically all except for one (I believe) involved Konnan. BTW, Konnan and Vampiro are fighting, i think at a later date, loser leaves town stipulation. I'm guessing Konnan loses and he stays in the back booking. So i pray it happens so this MAD storyline ends.

Well Triplemania is over. I already spoke about the first 2 matches. They had a 3 way trios match, no title on the line, with the Exoticos, El Nuevo Poder del Norte, and El Hijo del LA Park, Puma King and Taurus. The match was surprisingly good to me, with El Nuevo Poder del Norte winning (my favorite trio in AAA BTW).

There was a lumberjack match with Los OGTs vs Jack Evans, Juvi and Teddy Hart (shocked hes still in AAA with his history of no showing). The match was OK. They did a spot near the end where the referee Copetes Salazar gets dragged to the outside by the lumberjacks and gets whipped. El Poder del Norte runs in and brawls with Los OGTs, yet Los OGTs wins. Then they brawl some more. It was a cluster finish.

Next match was a street fight between La Mascara, Texano Jr and Rey Scorpion vs Joe Lider, Murder Clown and Pagano. This match was insane, and i was shocked at the spots that La Mascara, Scorpion and Texano did. La Mascara took a lighttube to the head, Texano got a lighttube superkicked into his back, and Scorpion took a bump into a flaming table, which he was on top on the fire for 3-5 secs, yet was not on fire. Mascara, Texano and Scorpion won the match, and Pagano was taken out in an ambulance afterward.

The first lucha de apuestas match began, between Lady Shani and Fabi Apache. Good match, could have been better if there wasn't so much interference. Taurus interfered as Fabis second, La Parka came out to fight Taurus. Referee El Hijo del Tirantes interfered for Fabi. At the end, Copetes Salazar came out to ref after Tirantes was down. Tiranted started a fight with Copetes, and Tirantes was taken down. Lady Shani beat Fabi Apache, and she shaved her hair. Her history with lucha de apuestas was when she lost a hair vs hair match, she tricked people into believing she shaved her hair when she didn't, so this time around, she was shaved.

Jeff Jarrett defended his AAA Mega Title against Fenix, Brian Cage, and Rich Swann. The match was good for what it was. Cage and Swann was added because in reality Jarrett wouldn't have done much in a singles match with Fenix, so adding those two protected Jarrett. Near the end, the president of AAA Marsela Pena threw beer at Jarrett, then Fenix did a dive on Jarrett, but barely got his, and landed on Marsela instead. I think i heard Vampiro say she cracked a rib. Anyways, then they did the same finish as Verano de Escandalo where "La Parka" comes out in a referee shirt, but it was someone else. At Verano de Escandalo, Konnan was under the mask and helped Jarrett win. Tonight, Dr Wagner was under the mask, and helped Fenix win. At least Jarretts not champion anymore.

Main event time, with the second lucha de apuestas, built up as "Poker de Ases". It was Pentagon Jr, LA Park, Psycho Clown and El Hijo del Fantasma. The match started out as a steel cage match. When two wrestlers escaped the match, the match became a regular singles match. During LA Parks entrance, he brought Pierroth with him. LA Park defeated him in a lucha de apuestas, and were super close to this day. The steel cage lasted around 8-10 minutes. Pentagon was the first to escape. Wasn't surprised. Psycho Clown escaped a few minutes later. My heart sank, cause i was expecting Psycho vs Fantasma at the end. The regular match with Fantasma and Park began. The match was good. Again, too much interference from Tirantes, helping Fantasma. They brawled out in the ring for a few. At the end, when Park kept kicking out, Fantasma attacked Tirantes. Then Park speared Fantasma, and Tirantes counted a fast count for Park. El Hijo del Fantasma unmasked, with his father and son coming out to console him. After that, Dr Wagner came out, and challenged LA Park to a mask vs hair match for next years Triplemania on August 3. They brought up their history where LA Park wanted a mask vs mask with Wagner for the longest, but instead Wagner gave that matchup to Psycho Clown. This means there's no chance for at least a year or two that LA Park and Rush have a lucha de apuestas match at CMLLs Anniversary Show, which explains why we might get Rush vs Volador Jr instead.

I found a replay of the show but it’s with a annoying guy doing commentary over the English commentary. So I have to look at him in the corner of the tv the whole show
