You make solid points, can't really argue anything you said, in fact I'm compelled to agree. I think a solid gameplan, something extremely unorthodox, but not totally wild would help in a rematch with GSP too. I see St. Pierre getting frustrated easily once he comes across that one guy that can take him out of his element, hell look at the end of the fourth round when he couldn't finish Penn on the ground, he got pissed and first thing his did was shouted and punched the cage before he sat down. I see Penn/Diaz being a 1st rounder, be it submission or TKO/KO, I would feel safe betting money that that fight never escapes the 1st, unless Penn does a hell of a job at keeping the pace and neutralizing Diaz's boxing, which I doubt because Penn loves a fight and I don't see him trying to hold Diaz back from exchanging, and if it goes go the ground, it's gonna get pretty nuts, pretty quick. Good God just talking about it makes me realize how ing excited I am for that card. I usually go to the wing place for PPVs, but I'm considering fixing up a TV and a box out in the garage and ordering this one.

I don't see either guy submitting one another, but I do see a 3 round brawl with Diaz coming on the winning end. I'll be there live and I can't ing wait.

Crazier sh*t's happened. I just see this one going by fast and quick, a lot like Diaz/Daley. Jealous. As. . ;D I'm going to 136 next weekend though. I'm amazed that card has stuck without any injuries. I was sure at least one of the title fights would have been changed by now. Edit: Wow, just noticed "fast and quick" in the first line. How extremely redundant. lol

Yeah, Frankie invited me to go to Houston that weekend and I really wanted to go, mostly due to the expo and the live event (of course), but I really didn't want to pay for airfare to Houston and Vegas in one month, so I told him to just hook me up with tickets for 137, and he came through.

Honestly I can't blame you in the least. I'm thrilled for the 136 card, but if I could pick between that and 137...it would be 137 no contest.
I really want to meet Frankie someday. My bro-in-law and I are HUGE fans of his, both in and out of the cage. Last time we got together to watch fights(Battle on the Bayou) we were discussing Edgar/Maynard and got on the topic of Frankie in general, and I said "He's the kind of guy you hope you're daughter brings home and settles down with." lol

Oh he's a great guy and a huge family man. I had the privilege of meeting him through Ricardo Almeida and he's been helping me with things and helping me grow a lot over the years. Even if he wasn't a fighter, I would still be his friend.
He knows he has a tough fight, and I can't tell you how nervous I was after round 1 of the last fight, but he really showed me more of who he was in that fight and I couldn't be more proud of him. I've been helping him with some kickboxing techniques over the last 2-3 months that will help him beat Gray more definitively. Expect him to use kicks more, but you'll also see a very well-rounded game as I'm sure Maynard has been working on some things too. The fight in January was definitely one of the best fights of the year and I expect this one to be great too. Sucks I can't be there live, but I will be watching with excitement.
It's also kind of ironic that these 2 title fights are on the same card... just be ready for an announcement WHEN Edgar beats Maynard.

He 's always struck me as one of those guys who's just really genuine. Not because a cameras on him, but just because that's who he is. Which is why I have so much admiration for him. As far as celebrities go, I don't do the whole "man I wanna be like ________ when I'm older" but Frankie's one of those guys that I just can't help but say I wouldn't mind to one day be the kind of man he is.
Oh I'll be ready for it. Thanks for the heads up. And if it makes you feel any better, I know you can't be here personally to cheer/support him, but I don't think he's gonna lack in fans, as EVERYONE I've talked to is pulling for him. I think I've met one person out of like 30 who wants Gray to win.
I'll say this much, thank God we're talking over a forum, come post-136 I'm sure I won't be able to speak for a while.

He will be prepared, that's all that matters. He's ready to go 30 seconds or five rounds. Obviously, no one knows Maynard's gameplan, but after he watched the fight, Edgar wasn't even really mad about the draw. He knows he got his ass kicked in that first round, and he knows that the ref was being very, VERY nice to him after being knocked down like 4 times. But, he came back and fought like that round didn't even happen. I'm very nervous but also very excited for him to show everyone the new stuff he's been working on. I just hope the countdown show didn't catch him working on it.

If it did, he can protest that he was intentionally sabotaged. I can see it now, "Countdown-Gate" all over Sherdog and MMA Junkie.
"Conspiracy Victim" Frankie Edgar has a nice ring to it.
