You're more than welcome to have a thread remembering him, but I should also be able to say, "He wanted to die." Evidence > Blind opinion While I can agree with most of what you're saying I don't think that he ever wanted to die. However, he did disregard his want to live.

lots of people are like them over the internet, but in real life if someone they knew died of drunken driving then they'd be mourning too (like you said) and would get angry with people who said stuff like "he had a death wish" to them. Let me break it down a few ways for you... - If one of my parents selfishly decided to get poopfaced and drive their car 130 MPH, I would think they are a complete idiot, and I would tell them that if they somehow survived.
- If they did die, I would be like, "I wonder why he/she wanted to kill him/herself..." not, "Oh my god, what a tragic ACCIDENT!"
- Why is it a death wish? Because rational-thinking people do not drive like that.
- I would still be sad because it's my mother/father, not some idiot I've never met from a television show. Comparing the two shows how truly lost from reality some people are. Wow.
I'm not comparing people that didn't know him in real life and people who's family died in it. I was comparing people like Bam Margera who I believe are calling it a accident and crying about it. It really shows who people are if they can say "how can you feel sorry for that" when someone they've known all their life dies. But whatever, I'm not going to argue with you. You have your own mind set, even if you are truly heartless.

It's really sad and hard to believe that Dunn is gone. He was my favorite out of the group. I was tearing up on both hearing about his death and watching the videos to. May you rip Dunn you will be missed.

Seeing how fast my car can go."

I dont know why everyone is arguing, no one is going to change anyones mind.
Half of us will not feel sympathy for him because he drank and drive. Which is understandable.
The other half of us will continue to feel sad and continue to say rest in peace and remember him for being an entertainer, which is fine too.
Its like when Chris Benoit threads start, theres always an arguement between the ones who cant forgive Benoit for what he did in 2007 while the other half will try to remember him for being an awesome wrestler. The only exception is what Benoit did was x10,000,000 worse then what Ryan Dunn did.

And if you know how Dunn works, he likes his fast cars. Whether he was drunk or not, that was his thing.

I cannot stand ing people. EVERY single time a celebrity dies, the media can't just let them go in peace, they have to constantly be hammered. It's just beyond ridiculous. I continue reading about people stealing car parts/taking burnt grass/tree pieces. It's just sad. Now I'm hearing that " Dunn could be sued " - EVEN THOUGH HE'S DEAD. There are people that don't even give a crapabout the Jackass crew or even know him that come out and open their mouths about this. This happens, every, single, day. This isn't anything new. People drink and drive everyday. Some of them die and some don't, the only difference between this one and the others is that he was a celebrity. He wasn't "suicidal" or "didn't want to live/wanted to die" - it was simply an accident - one that we should have seen coming (seeing how since Jackass started, Dunn was the main guy who wanted to drive fast & drink.) Whether you like it or not, Dunn will be remembered as the guy from Jackass who did things not many others would do and made the world laugh, who lived life to it's fullest (even though it was an interesting one) - & will be missed by those who cared about him and Jackass. People are upset because this was a guy who made them laugh, that's not hard to understand. Now he's gone and EVERYONE should just leave it at that, quit harassing him.

So what exactly do you intend to do? There's nothing you can do that's going to change anything. And after stupid points like "He wanted to die" even less people are inclined to listen to what you're saying.

Very hard to watch. I just bought Jackass 3.5 from HMV yesterday, a part of me almost doesn't want to watch it though in light of what happened :\

OK, just move along, we get your point. You should take a job campaigning against drink driving, giving out leaflets or something if you're so desperate not just to 'sit quietly'. Just cos his work didn't mean anything to you, doesn't mean it doesn't to others.

People being sad about Dunn dying is the same as people being sad when Eddie Guerrero, Macho Man and Owen Hart died. Those people, along with Dunn, are individuals that we invited into our homes via TV and movies. Losing them can be akin to losing a friend who comes over, entertains you and then leaves. People have a right to be sad about his passing, despite the circumstances.
As for the circumstances of his death, yes, it was stupid of him to do what he did. However, insulting a dead guy isn't going to do very much. Call me crazy, but I don't think he's going to change his ways all of a sudden. You don't have to mourn his death, but to insult him and make people feel uncomfortable for doing so is messed up. It's what the Westboro Baptist Church is all about. What would be a reasonable response is to take the situation and learn from it. To come here and say that people are stupid for being sad is mean-spirited and doesn't solve anything. What we should be doing is mourning (or not) but still remembering why he's dead. Looking at this situation and going "I'm sad this guy is gone, but what he did was stupid and we need to make sure nothing like that happens again," is perfectly fine. Attacking people for caring about someone isn't.

I drove by the site today. Wish I woulda took a pic but anyway. Bottom line he f'd up. Shame two young people were lossed but should be a lesson learned to drive and live responsibly. Hopefully those that idolize these guys make that distinction.

I just mean, we invited Macho into our houses, we invited Owen into our houses, we invited Dunn into our houses. That's where the comparison ends.

I don't necessarily feel any sadness towards Dunn, but I do feel terrible for Bam. I know what it is like to lose someone close. I just hope Dunn didn't feel anything because no one deserves to go out that way regardless of the stupid decisions they make/made.
