From WrestleHeat.com According to a source I spoke to exclusively within the past few days close to TNA Impact Wrestling — and news that Spike TV’s flagship franchise UFC is looking like it will be leaving the network by the end of this year — TNA’s broadcast home in the United States is looking at the possibility of purchasing a majority stake in TNA. Panda Energy is currently the company that continues to back TNA, but Spike TV apparently is aware of all the issues that is happening within the company with Spike being able to do very little with the company besides give “suggestions”. If Spike were to purchase a majority stake in the company, they could seriously clean house, a source tells me exclusively here at WrestleHeat.com. As noted previously here on the website, TNA is looking a releasing a large proportion of its talent due to financial issues with the company. A source notes that TNA President Dixie Carter’s mother, Janice Carter, has been “hounding” her daughter to make some cuts within the company in order to clean house instead of employing names that aren’t regularly on television. We noted earlier that Janice wants to cut at least 20 names from the company in a previous report. TNA has partnered with Spike TV since 2005, years after they aired one-hour broadcasts on FOX Sports Net and then shortly aired shows on the Internet before they partnered with Spike around the time that WWE left the network. Despite the large ratings gape between WWE and TNA, both USA Network and Spike TV are roughly available in the homes of 99 million people. wrestleheat.com/spike-tv-purchasing-majority-stake-tna-wrestling-source=8350

Too bad Spike Executives are the people who ejaculate all over themselves when they see THE Sting, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff on their Network. I mean, maybe they get rid of Flair, but he's the least of TNA's worries in terms of older stars taking up time.
Anyways, cut the following:
Anarquia Brian Kendrick Bully Ray Devon Earl Hebner Eric Bischoff Mike Tenay Generation ME Hulk Hogan Jeff Hardy Matt Hardy Mr. Anderson Murphy Rob Terry Robbie E Rosita The Sangriento character Scott Steiner Shannon Moore SoCal Val The Suicide character Taz.

It could turn out to be for the best if true. The Carter family has been with TNA since the debut in 2002, so I'd love to know how they managed to up such an awesome company in recent years. Back in 2005 - 2006, I saw TNA as a very possible threat to WWE, but now..... let's just say I'm still hopeful.

20 names? That's insane, surely cutting costs on some of the more expensive contracts would be better than letting multiple people go.

Wow, what a mess!
Some good talent is sure to suffer if this happens. While guys like Hogan & Bischoff will get to stick around. But maybe this could potentially be the best thing that could happen. Who knows?

Also, Hardy should have been fired earlier this year. I'd hope Spike wouldn't put up with his or his brother's shit.

LOL! Those are some of their biggest draws. What exactly are they drawing? Even if Jeff Hardy is some God of House Show attendance, he's past the point of being a valuable asset after all he's been through (mostly self-inflicted) over the past few years.

rather than releasing 20 lower carders (the guys who bust ass every week), just fire Hogan, Bischoff, and Jeff Hardy. I'm sure it'll more than fix the budget issues. If there's still budget issues, put Sting on a 100% paid per appearance deal, on a lesser budget, and only use him for the PPVs.

Here's a list of my Keeps/Cuts, anyone not listed hasn't been seen on TV in a while, so they're cut as well.
Abyss (Keep, could be in the title scene, but I think a James Mitchell return could be good for him) AJ Styles (Keep, he should be TNA's golden-boy) Alex Shelly (Keep, either have him in MCMG, or bring back the Shelly-Cam & Paparazzi Productions to the X-Division) Amazing Red (Cut) Anarquia (Cut) Austin Aries (Keep, could shine in the X-Division/TV/World title scene) Bobby/Robert Roode (Keep, have the Wallstreet-type gimmick return and put him in the World/TV title scene) Brian Kendrick (I'd rather keep him, but he can stay or go) Bully Ray (Cut) Christopher Daniels (Keep, go full swing with the 'Fallen Angel' persona and have him rule the X-Division for a bit.) Chris Sabin (Keep, either with MCMG or singles competition in the X-Division) Crimson (Cut) Pope (Cut) Devon (Cut) Doug Williams (Keep, tag-team mainstay with Magnus) Eric Bischoff (Keep, as an on-screen authority figure) Eric Young (Cut) Generation ME (Can stay or go) Gunner (Cut) Hernandez (Cut) Hulk Hogan (Cut) James Storm (Keep, not sure how he'd do in singles competition, may want to reunite AMW) Jeff Jarrett (Could either stay as the '05-'06 King of the Mountain, or stay behind the scenes) Jesse Neal (Cut) Kazarian (Can stay or go, perhaps bring in Matt Bentley to team with) Kurt Angle (Let him finish up his time before the 2012 Olympics) Magnus (See Williams) Matt Hardy (Cut) Matt Morgan (I'd like to see him succeed, but I just don't see it happening) Mr. Anderson (Cut, his gimmick has run it's course, and he's had a slew of heel/face turns - not sure what else can be done) Ric Flair (Perhaps put him in Roodes corner?) RVD (Keep, could do well in X-Division/TV Title scene) Samoa Joe (Keep, if he can get back in shape) Steiner (Cut, or put him at the commentators table and watch hilarity ensue) Shannon Moore (Cut) Sting (Give him a good send-off) Tenay/Taz (Cut)
Possible signees/returns - Low Ki, Matt Bentley, Petey Williams, Chis Harris, Elix Skipper, The Naturals, Paul London, Jay Lethal.

Typical message board response is basically this:
"Fire everyone I hate and keep/hire everyone I like"
If Spike TV takes over TNA, it will be dead within a year. You get a bunch of corporate accountants who all they care about is dollars and cents running a wrestling company and nothing good every happens for the wrestling company.
This is going to be AOL/Time Warner all over again and TNA is going to be put out of business when Spike TV decides that NOTHING they can do is going to make this brand a serious money draw.

There is no big draw in TNA. Hogan, Jeff, Sting, don't do sh*t. It's for the best if they go with youth and provide more wrestling. Because what they're doing now obviously isn't working.

But then how can we "brother up" when the cards are full of vanilla midgets like Beer Money and the Machine Guns?

Typical message board response is basically this: "Fire everyone I hate and keep/hire everyone I like" Yes? I mean, I think most lists are pretty good from a business standpoint, as well, but obviously most people have those who they would cut if given the chance (Like me with Anderson and GenMe, who are good, but I find too annoying, so in a dream scenario, I would cut them). It's not like someone here is going to run TNA, anyways, so what's this big issue with people thinking Anarquia and Mike Tenay aren't going to save TNA?

Good news if you want them shut down. Bad news if you want them to thrive. They need change but corporate ownership is bad news.

Yeah? Well, seeing as most of the TNA roster are "pay-per-apperance", I would love to see how cutting 20 talents will be "cleaning house" and helping finically. Cutting 20 people will free up LITTLE to no money.
Plus, SpikeTV are the exact reasons that Hogan/Sting/Flair/etc all got thier jobs...

It's not like someone here is going to run TNA, anyways, so what's this big issue with people thinking Anarquia and Mike Tenay aren't going to save TNA? Because people are stupid. Every list wants Hulk Hogan cut. How exactly is Hulk Hogan ruining TNA? He does one promo and one backstage segment every other week! He's not wrestling. He's not Champion. He's not holding anybody down. Hulk Hogan on air is to TNA what the RAW GM is to WWE. Do you people REALLY think that Hulk Hogan leaving TNA is going to make it better? Slappy comes on here a month ago and cuts this big promo on me because I like Hogan and Bischoff and how they single handed in real life removed the X-Division from TNA. I tried to explain to Slappy and everyone else how that is what we can a "wrestling angle" and by having Hogan and Bischoff's characters try and eliminate the X-Division would only put more emphasis on how important the X-Division really is to TNA when the X-Division wrestlers rally and fight to take it back from the hands of Abyss, Bischoff and Hogan's characters. And obviously I was right. Look at how prominent the X-Division is on Impact and it's getting it's own PPV! So clearly whoever is in charge of TNA hears the fans loud and clear and you want X-Division, you are getting X-Division, but they just took it away for a little bit to explain why it was going to be so heavily featured. They didn't just wanna be like "oh, btw, all X-Division PPV next month" because that's not going to draw as much as the awesome angle they have built up right now with everybody. It's the same people who think all of WWE's problems will be solved if they release John Cena, despite the fact that he's the most profitable character WWE has seen since Austin and Rock retired! This is what I have been saying all along was my problem with internet wrestling fans....most people have the attitude of "If my favorite guy isn't the World Champion than I think the entire company SUCKS!".....and that is a ridiculous point of view.
