World Championship Wrestling 2000
As 2000 came to a close, a number of potential buyers for WCW were rumored to show interest in the company. Ted Turner, however, was still in charge of Time Warner prior to the final merger of AOL and Time Warner in 2001, and most offers were rejected. Eric Bischoff, working with Fusient Media Ventures, made a bid to acquire the company in January 2001 (shortly following the AOL/Time Warner merger), and it appeared that WCW would continue.
The End Of World Championship Wrestling
One of the primary backers in the WCW deal backed out, however, leaving Fusient to take that offer off the table while it attempted to bring a new deal around. In the meantime, the World Wrestling Federation began speaking to the new AOL Time Warner about acquiring the WCW brand. Jamie Kellner was handed control over the Turner Broadcasting division, and deemed WCW wrestling to be out of line with their image. As a result, WCW programming was canceled on both TBS and TNT, leaving Vince McMahon's company, which at the time had an exclusive deal with Viacom, free to acquire the trademarks, video libraries.
The Rise Of a American Promotion
AWA following the disastrous Team Challenge Series, the AWA lost its contract with ESPN and became virtually stale by late 1990. The company fell under and the one time professional wrestling company basically returned to the bottom of the wrestling world. However with Verne Gagne's resources he managed to turn the AWA in a low budget company and continue to do small tours on the west coast. This would last until 2000 when Verne Gagnes health declined and his son Greg Gagne took over the company. Greg Gagne had resources his father did not have. He managed to land a incredible deal with The Trump Organization, (a real-estate developer based in the United States.) It's run by Donald J Trump, this deal would be the beginning of the rise of the American Wrestling Association. The deal details became known shortly after, the deal was Greg Gagne would become the head of booking and Donald Trump would become the new CEO. Donald Trump would then contact Time Warner in late 2000 to purchase the remaining big talent contracts from the fall of World Championship Wrestling. Due to AOL and Time Warner not wanting to have anything to do with the wrestling business anymore, the company sold them to Donald Trump for a hefty 1 million a piece. Donald purchased the following contracts, Terry Gene Bollea (Hulk Hogan) Steve Borden (Sting) Lawrence Wendell (Lex Luger) Randy Mario Poffo (Randy Savage) These contracts were very valuable to Donald Trump and he knew he would be able to use these individuals to promote the new American Wrestling Association.
The Promotion Of The Future
In January 2001, The Trump Organization signed a one year deal with Bischoff-Hervey Productions. This deal would include a contract for Eric Bischoff to be a on screen personality. He would also be using his main assists from the Bischoff-Hervey production company which was to set a creative writing staff within the new American Wrestling Association. Eric Bischoff made various negotiations with Donald Trump and was able to secure a small advertising campaign with Trump Entertainment Resorts. This would allow Eric Bischoff to begin advertising for it's first set of events. Eric Bischoff also began making contacts with Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to host the first big event of the new company.
The Fall Of Extreme and No More Flair?
In August 1999, ECW began to broadcast nationally on TNN (for what was initially a three year contract). Despite no advertising and a low budget, ECW became TNN's highest rated show. ECW on TNN was canceled in Feb. 2000 (with the final episode airing on Feb. 6, 2000) in favor of WWF Raw moving to the network. The company remained open but virtually inactive. This allowed the former ECW talent to move to different company's. However many went on to sign with the World Wrestling Federation, expect ECW Originals Kid Kash, Sabu, signed with the new American Wrestling Association. The two individuals were given a multiyear deal with the new company. Donald Trump wanted to sign other big names such as " The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Scott Steiner, Diamond Dallas Page, however this wouldn't happen. All three men had already signed a multiyear deal with the World Wrestling Federation. However this didn't seem to phase Trump since he was able to make a very discrete deal with a "Ultimate" free agent!
After many years spent outside the wrestling world, Ultimate Warrior has signed a deal with The American Wrestling Association! Although many fans thought they would never see Warrior in the ring again since he formally retired from wrestling in 1999. But in a sudden change of events in parts unknown! Ultimate Warrior will be returning to the ring! and will even be back on a full time basis in the AWA!

AWA "All American Tour" Show One ( July 4th 2001) Lex Luger Defeated Bam Bam Bigelow via Submission Lance Storm Defeated Kid Kash via Pin-Fall Dean Malenko Defeated Super Crazy via Count-Out "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala Defeated Randy Savage via Pin-Fall (Interference By Balls Mahoney) "The Beast" Dan Severn Defeated Jake Roberts via Submission Former WWF Superstar Booker T Made A Surprise Appearance! The Main-Event! "The Hulkster" Hulk Hogan Defeated The Warrior, Rick Rude, "Perfection" Curt Hennig To Become New AWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Event Notes: 1. After The Main event, Lex Luger came out and attacked Hulk Hogan and stole the AWA World Championship. But before he could leave the ring with it Sting arrived from the rafters and caught him with the baseball bat leaving him laid out. Sting picked up the championship staring at it before tossing it over to Hulk Hogan! 2. AWA Judges called for a rematch next week, "The Ugandan Giant" Kamala Vs. Randy Savage since Mahoney interfered with the end result. 3. Scott Hall appeared in the crowd but didn't come close to ringside instead he just watched the event from a far and left during the main event. 4. Booker T shocked the AWA audience when he appeared after the third match of the evening. It appears Booker T will be apart of the AWA in the coming weeks!

Looking good, man. Just don't make this too WCW nostalgia, judged by the contracts you've signed. And also remember that Hogan and Savage would never work together again at this point.

I realize that, but I don't want to even acknowledge it, personally I'd prefer it didn't happen in this story and it was just left as a wrestling rivalry in my diary. I plan to do the entire history up until a certain date ( I haven't decided where I will stop at yet) so there is a lot of room for many more to be signed.
