They way they are shoving Riley down our throats.....I could see him on being on that road.
Sucks, cuz I like Riley. But he is headed for burnout on the path they have set for him.

if Alex Riley is the next John Cena, well, that sucks. back in 2002 we saw Orton, Batista, and Cena debut. 3 years later, they were the faces of the company. even though at that time they weren't the most talented wrestlers or even the most deserving, you knew there was something special going on with them. why? because at that time they were different. they were three clean-cut, fresh, good looking guys. they were all incredibly young (except Batista, who is deceptfully old but well, was still a new wrestler) they were something new. but since then, especially recently, all of our "hey these guys can be the next faces of the company!!!" have been these clean-cut guys like The Miz and I guess, Alex Riley. I don't wanna see that. its such a shame they didn't push like CM Punk who actually looks unique and could've easily been groomed as the leader of the next era of the WWE.

I always thought John Morrison would be the next big star, guess I was wrong. But seriously Alex Riley or Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) could easily be the next Cena.

A few people have potential to be future world champions or even "leaders" of the company......None of them yet will be on the level of Cena.

also, to anyone who says it'll be The Miz...
does anyone else realize The Miz has already won the WWE championship (with one of the worst, most unoriginal ways to start by cashing in the MITB on a wounded champion) had a Wrestlemania match against John Cena, in which he won but got destroyed by The Rock afterwards and then simply lost the belt to John Cena and moved to a feud with his former apprentice. I'm sorry, but there is a pretty good chance that Miz has peaked. and if he hasn't peaked, I don't think WWE is looking to make him the next Cena or else we would've seen a stronger reign from him.

The Miz.
I think Dolph Ziggler has the potential too. He would need a name change though.

Good God, I don't want another John Cena, one is bad enough.
Not only that, but I hate it when people ask "Who do you think is gonna be the next So And So?" Wrestlers should make their own names, not try and by the next anybody.

I don't think we see another Cena. By the time we see the companies next big star I think it will be something entirely different than Cena. Miz is probably the closest we will ever see to the "next Cena" imo.
That being said, I truly believe Seth Rollins is a mega star in the making.
I think Punk and Ziggler both have the opportunity to make an insanely great legacy but I see both those guys being more like a Triple H level star and not necessarily guys that eclipse mega stardom like a Hogan or Cena.

Ryder, Riley, Miz, Barrett, Punk, Rollins, Ziggler. No particular order.

How could anyone say The Miz could be the next Rock, Austin or Hogan? Are some of you on crack...?

Immediatly I thought of Nexus Batista, because he's awful in the ring.
...but if you mean someone kids love and sells t-shirts, i'd say Riley or Justin Gabriel.
EDIT: Ricky Steamboats son!?

Riley is getting a lot of votes, I still think he is better as a heel tho. His days in FCW were awesome, great character. I wish they would bring that to the WWE.

I would say it is out of Heath Slater, Zack Ryder and Alex Riley with Curt Hawkins and Wade Barrett right behind! Wade Barrett and Alex Riley are the only ones on this list with any potential, but I can't see either of them being as big as Cena. Ryder? Really? I can't wait until the iwc gives up on this guys. He's terrible. As for the next stand out star, it's hard to say really. If it is someone on the current roster there would have to be a serious character change. There are a lot of guys who have the skill, so it will be interesting to see who steps up.
