Halfway through the filming of Showdown TV 20, The news broke that former WWEML/WWF/WCW/ECW superstar Bam Bam Bigelow had passed away. Filming halted for an hour as WWEML officials wondered how they could honour the 'Beast from the East'.
Just before the Main event of the show, Rob Van Dam (who had already wrestled that night) came forward and told officials he would be willing to wrestle again after the main event to commemerate the career of one of his greatest opponents.. Moments later, Former Tag partner of Bigelow from IWGP, Vader agreed to be RVD's opponent.
