You know, as I was watching Impact tonight there was an interview with Christopher Daniels and he said along the lines of I wanna show that I'm the best in the world and it got me thinking...
Why has everyone been clamoring that they are the best in the world? Punk, Jericho (not recently but you know what I mean), Christopher Daniels, people in ROH, I'm sure there are others.
Granted, I don't know if they are saying this for storyline purposes or if they truthfully believe they are the best.
So that leads me to this, based off of the elements of professional wrestling who do you think is CURRENTLY the best wrestler, and I'll say America because it's tough to add in Japanese/Mexican guys seeing as most of us aren't following that.
Honestly I will probably get rammed for this but I have to say Alberto Del Rio. He just has everything, he is solid in the ring, he gets pretty decent heat, he's got a great look and great mic skills.
So yeah, Who is the best wrestler in America?
(Honestly feel everyone is going to say Punk).
Let's change this a little bit, not necessarily the Best In-Ring competitor, but who is the best all-around? (In-Ring, Mic Skills, Charisma, Appearance)

Christian all around Austin Aries in ring

Alberto is really lacking that flair in the ring to me. He's a great performer, no doubt, but his selling is often awkward, like landing on his side unneccasarily, and his offense really lacks that kind of 'Ouch' factor as well.
All round right now, I'd give Christian a good shout for sure, not sure who else really is as good as he is on such a continued basis.

Fixed.
I'll probably say best pure wrestler (who's adapted extremely well to WWE-style) is Daniel Bryan. Best on the microphone would be Jericho but he's not active, so that probably IS CM Punk.
As far as the business of "sports entertainment," John Cena plays that game the best.

I actually understand that, Alberto is a little awkward when it comes to selling. As much as I love Christian I feel Edge got over regardless of being heel or face and I don't think he has people eating out of his hands as much as Edge did.

Daniel Bryan without any doubt. I have to agree. Great tech skills and can do almost everything in a ring.

Daniel Bryan without any doubt. See but Bryan's mic skills are lacking incredibly, I have yet to see him with a good promo yet, he seems almost shy on the mic like he is just a pure wrestler with no character. And I'm a fan of Bryan. I actually agree more with Kurt Angle, even if he has slowed down A LOT in the ring.

I'd have to say CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, or Davey Richards.

In my opinion, it's a toss up between CM Punk, Christian, and Kurt Angle. I feel like Daniel Bryan will be on that level soon. His character in the WWE still needs to be developed. Once he turns heel...

Currently CM Punk... he can do it all... Historic wise just for fun I'd say Exotic Adrian Street. Even though noone asked about the past. But I always felt Street was awesome on the mic and amazing in the ring.

The best in the world needs to be someone who can handle the mic and constantly entertain in the ring. Last year I would have said Jericho, but this year as obvious as this might sound I truly feel that CM Punk is the best in the world right now. Of course that'll change in the coming weeks though if he decides to take a break.

ok I stand corrected, but the fact is right now he isn't like that and virtually has no character at all but yeah if he grows into a character and is able to shine on the mic I would agree he is the best.
I've seen Bryan in ROH and I know he can be as good in WWE as he was there but creative and the TV producers need to give him some time to shine.
