The alternate reality "good twin" of me who does the generic GO THROUGH 8 GYMS DO ELITE 4 IN JOHTO and then KANTO then become undisputed champ and rule Kanto-Johto me would have a series of epic adventures before the worlds merge with both of us. I'd just be like the intense law enforcer and stop the evils and keep peace.


and one of my missions is to observe a new island for pokemon attractions made with NOTHING BUT FOSSIL AND DINOSAUR-STYLE POKEMON!!!!

(yes Jurassic park pokemon style and and I go with prof oak and elm and disaster happens and the owner tries to cover it up and i confront him and leave him to the fate of Tyranitar/Rampardos while we three good guys fly away on Tropsiuses.)

I'm gonna go on a little rant here. I've been separated from the Pokemon (only in the game aspect) for a few months... actually since I got 646 last May.



Man I hate how a lot of people judge Pokemon only on their place on the "competitive" metagame. Competitive. AKA playing to win. Isn't that what you do play the game? Play it to win it? Or battle randomly with friends without making specific IVs/EVs/etc? Yeah. I play to win there, as well.
I find the whole competitive scene very pretentious. Say I spend hours (HOURS!) breeding a Pokemon with the right moves/strategy/IVs/EVs. But maybe the IVs aren't as good. Someone with PokeSav or whatever can breed perfect, legal Pokemon that can pass all legality checks. And thus they are better than me by cheating. Screw that. I liked Pokemon better when I didn't have to play it with a notebook of a perfect team, moves, and EV yields. Including a calculator.

Then there is the fact that online Pokemon are in "tiers". "OH YOU WANNA USE LOSER POKEMON LIKE PERSIAN AND ESPEON JUST PLAY THE NEVER OR RARELY OR WHATEVER USED TIERS!" Yeah, forget that. So I have to make a perfect perfect team of 6 for all different tiers? Wow... that's a lot of wasted time hatching and releasing and stuff. Forget it.

Like, seriously, people judge Pokemon on nothing other than their place in online battling. Talking about tiers and stuff, and their usefulness, and what moves they can use. Yeah I'm into it a little but the obsession of it by some people IRL and on sites like Gamefaqs (where I mean there used to be okay topics to browse now it's just "SMOGON SUCKS" or "SHUT UP SMOGON HATERS").

There are so much MORE things to do with Pokemon than the games that people don't seem to realize. The card game. I'm a collector. Started again after literally a 12 year absence. The anime. Got back into that as well. The overall coolness of a Pokemon.

Example- this is my favorite one but there are dozens I've argued before...
I don't care if Reuniclus is a bulky psychic type who can learn this and that. Gothitelle is a freaking emo human with the freakiest cry ever. Who knows the death date of her/his trainer. Who had an episode in the show where she traps people in a past reality. Tell me what's cooler. That or a generic strong psychic blob of green.

yeah, okay take the nostalgia goggles off. And Jolteon and Flareon and Vaporeon sure are real creative.

so anyway, yeah, when it comes to Pokemon aside from this forum I cant talk to anyone about anything aside from online. and it's annoying.

To sum it all up- if i wanna talk about a specific Pokemon and their usefullness in the game or the "metagame", then go ahead and lay on me their their movepool and stats and strategies.

If I just talk about Pokemon that I like from a personal standpoint, developed by stories/fan fiction/anime/cards/games/dex entries combined, I don't need to hear the spiel about how bad the Pokemon suck in and only in the metagame.
