Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Cena fan, but I welcome the idea of him taking some lengthy time off. All that needs to be done is to build up this match with Rock which is a long way away yet. Give him a rest in terms of TV time, let him have some literal rest and he can come back in a few months. What should be done now is seeing how other members of the RAW roster can far when the top guy isn't about. This. I have heard Cena is working through multiple injuries, so give him time off. Raw will be fine without him, it just depends on where Punk and the WWE title is going. |

Hes not really getting fired. Its a storyline. Punk is still signed to WWE, he is in a storyline free agent.

Let Cena have some time off, recover from some nagging injuries...then around December- have the Rock start calling him out on his abandoning the fans by accepting that stipulation against Punk which got him fired. Pointing out how he wasn't good enough to win, keep the title around, etc. and that 'The People's Champ' would never stoop so low.
That builds up steam to Cena crusading to get back in the WWE in time for WM to get his match with the Rock, possibly even leading to his storming the WWE headquarters in Stamford or sneaking into the Rumble match or Elimination Chamber just to assure his place in the company.
It has to have more build and payoff than the Nexus' 'Cena's fired' storyline.

do wonder how they will work it this time, hopefully better than last time. Shouldn't be too hard to make it better than last time...all they have to do is not have Cena show up every week. |
