Friday Night SmackDown, August 5th, 2011 - The Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. "Yes, sir, we promised you a great Main Event..."
Cue Opening Package.
The pyrotechnics explode and we are greeted by Josh Mathews, Michael Cole and Booker T. They remind us that tonight, we will see the World Heavyweight Champion, Christian take on the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus in a non-title match. Also, we are told that Mark Henry will go head-to-head with Kane. Suddenly, we hear the theme of the World Heavyweight champion, Christian to a ton of heat.
Christian tells the WWE Universe that Theodore Long has been a terrible excuse for a General Manager as of late with his awful decisions, but those awful decisions were nothing compared to the catastrophic decision he made last week when he made the Fatal 4-Way Match for his World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. The crowd pop for the match, but Christian tells them he doesn't know why they're cheering, because it's totally uncalled for, and Christian is out here tonight to protest against the match. He gets a steel chair, sets it up in the middle of the ring and sits on it, saying that he isn't moving until the SummerSlam match is called off. The crowd boo and chant "You suck" as Christian sits in silence. Suddenly, the theme of Sheamus hits to a pretty decent pop from the crowd. He comes out, telling Christian that he's just embarrassing himself, because Teddy Long won't call off the match, and he will leave SummerSlam as the World Heavyweight Champion. Christian tells Sheamus that his opinion is invalid, and he will remain on protest, which also means he will not be competing in the Main Event tonight. The crowd boo and Sheamus laughs, saying that if Christian won't fight him in the Main Event, then he's going to fight him now. Sheamus enters the ring and Christian gets up and folds the chair, ready to swing as the crowd cheer. Suddenly, the theme of Wade Barrett hits to a ton of heat. He comes out shouting for them to stop, saying that this is pathetic. He says that both Christian and Sheamus are missing the point, because regardless of what happens here tonight, it won't change the fact that he is leaving SummerSlam with the World Heavyweight Championship. He says that he was robbed of the Money in the Bank briefcase, so it only seems fair that he be compensated for that. Sheamus says that Barrett needs to stick to what he does best, and that's losing. The crowd cheer, and Barrett enters the ring, looking angry and ready to fight. The tension is broken when the theme of Randy Orton hits and he walks out to an enormous pop. He says that all he sees is a bunch of guys that can talk the talk, but none of them can walk the walk, which is why he's about to show them all exactly how to do it. He goes to slide in the ring but...
The theme of Theodore Long hits and he stops it before everything gets out of control. He says that he understands the tension between all four men, but he can't have random brawls going on during the show. He tells Christian that his protest will go unheard, because the SummerSlam match has been made official. He then says that with Christian facing Sheamus tonight, he sees no reason why Wade Barrett and Randy Orton shouldn't be in action too... against each other! The crowd pop as Orton begins to smirk. We then cut to a commercial break as Barrett looks on in shock.
Commercial Break.
Wade Barrett def. Randy Orton. Christian and Sheamus had left ringside when we return. These two fought, just a couple of weeks after their last match, but this time, the result was different. Randy Orton went for the RKO, but Barrett shoved him off into the turnbuckle and then followed it up with a roll up and a handful of tights for the win.
Barrett quickly escaped the ring as he celebrated the victory, Orton looking extremely angry. He wasn't too happy about losing that way and it's almost certain he'll be looking for revenge. We then cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE SummerSlam, airing on August 14th, 2011. It is played to the theme of 'Bright Lights, Bigger City' by Cee Lo Green. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
A.J. with Kaitlyn def. Tamina. The 'spitfire', as Booker T calls her was victorious in this one after hitting Tamina with the Shining Wizard.
After the match, A.J. and Kaitlyn celebrated as Tamina rolled out of the ring, but suddenly, Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes appeared out of nowhere and attacked the duo. Natalya hit the ring, but Fox escaped. However, Natalya managed to get a hold of Rosa Mendes, dropping her with the Discus Clothesline. Natalya pointed to Alicia Fox, warning her off as we cut backstage.
We see the SmackDown Money in the Bank holder, Daniel Bryan to a huge pop. He is interrupted by Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase to a ton of heat. Rhodes says to Bryan that he watched him get destroyed by Mark Henry last week, and it made him realize that he doesn't even deserve to hold the Money in the Bank briefcase, he isn't worthy enough. Daniel Bryan tells Rhodes that he may have lost to Mark Henry, but he would have never backed out of the fight, he would have never cowered away, much like Rhodes does behind his mask. Rhodes says that his mask is necessary after his facial reconstructive surgery. Bryan says that he just thinks Rhodes is insecure, and that his father would never hide behind a mask, no matter how battered or bruised he got. Cody gets angry and tells Daniel Bryan to watch his mouth, before storming off with DiBiase. Bryan shakes his head and we cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Mark Henry def. Kane. This match was made last week after Henry demanded it from Teddy Long, following an attack by Kane. Henry dominated most of the match, destroying the Big Red Monster like nobody had ever seen before. The match came to a close when Henry hit the World's Strongest Slam for the victory.
After the match, Mark Henry didn't really celebrate. He exited the ring, grabbed a steel chair and proceeded to wrap it around the leg of Kane. Everyone knew what was coming, as they had seen it at Money in the Bank when Henry did it to the Big Show, and took him out. Henry went to the middle rope and then jumped back, hitting a huge splash onto the chair, virtually shattering the ankle of Kane. The crowd gasped in shock as Kane screamed in pain, holding his left leg. Mark Henry screamed "Who's next?! Who wants some of this?!" before leaving as EMTs and referees tended to Kane. We then cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE's Anti-Bullying Campaign, featuring multiple WWE superstars and divas. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see a recap of what just took place between Mark Henry and Kane. We then see Theodore Long in his office, shaking his head at what he just saw, before being interrupted by the World Heavyweight Champion, Christian to a ton of heat. Christian says Long still has times to fix things and call off the SummerSlam match, but Long says he has no intention of doing that. He tells Christian that he's sick of watching him run away from his challenges, so he considers this a test of Christian's worth as World Champion. Christian tells Long that once he retains the title at SummerSlam, he's going to make Long regret every single bad decision he's ever made towards him. Christian leaves and we cut to ringside.
Daniel Bryan def. Ted DiBiase with Cody Rhodes via Disqualification. Daniel Bryan was out to prove himself in this one, after being slated by Rhodes earlier on. Unfortunately, this one ended more suddenly than expected when Rhodes entered the match and brutally attacked Bryan, causing the disqualification.
Rhodes and DiBiase continued the attack, and hit Bryan with their respective finishing moves. Rhodes then grabbed the Money in the Bank briefcase and told Bryan that he doesn't deserve it. DiBiase passes Rhodes a microphone and he issues a challenge to Bryan for SummerSlam. He tells Bryan that he'll see him on August 14th, for a beating he'll never forget. He throws the briefcase and the microphone at him before taunting with DiBiase. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali in the ring to a ton of heat. Jinder Mahal says that last week, The Great Khali proved how pathetic the Intercontinental Champion, Ezekiel Jackson really is. He says that he would make a better Intercontinental Champion, and would also bring class and culture to the belt. The Great Khali says something in Indian, and Mahal translates to say that Khali agrees. He continues, but before they can finish, Ezekiel Jackson comes out to a huge pop. He says that Jinder Mahal talks tough, but when you're hiding behind a seven foot tall giant, it's easy to talk tough. He says he'll happily take on Mahal next week on SmackDown, if he wants to try it again, but this time without The Great Khali. Mahal says that Khali is merely a supporter of his, and he doesn't need any help to win his matches. BUT... he worms his way out of the match, saying that if Jackson wants to get to Mahal again, he can take on The Great Khali next week first. The crowd boo as Mahal avoids a second match with Jackson. Jackson laughs and says that if that's what he wants, that's what he'll get. He says that he hasn't forgotten the Vice Grip from last week, and he's going to make sure that Khali never forgets it either. His theme hits and he taunts with the Intercontinental Championship as we cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for this Monday's Raw, advertising a Contract Signing between both the WWE Champion, CM Punk and John Cena to solidify their SummerSlam match in just over a week. We then return to SmackDown.
We are shown a split screen which shows the World Heavyweight Champion, Christian and Sheamus walking down separate corridors. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Sheamus def. World Heavyweight Champion Christian in a non-title match. This was a brilliant Main Event, and really allowed Sheamus to shine. The match was back and forth mostly, but Wade Barrett made his presence felt, wanting to get an upper hand before SummerSlam in just over a week's time. He tried to get involved in the match by distracting Sheamus, but Randy Orton came out to a huge pop and took Barrett down on the outside with a Lou Thez Press. Christian went for the Killswitch, but Sheamus shoved him off, and when Christian ran back at him, he hit him with a thunderous Brogue Kick for the victory.
Sheamus celebrated his victory before seeing Orton roll Barrett into the ring. Sheamus drilled Barrett with a huge right hand, turning him into a massive RKO from Randy Orton. For the second time in a row, Sheamus and Randy Orton are the ones left standing in the ring to close SmackDown. They stand face-to-face with smirks on their faces as SmackDown fades to a close. © 2011 World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

SmackDown:
- Solid opening segment to build towards Summerslam and set up the nights matches. I'm still going to be very disappointed if Christian drops the belt this early in his reign. - Loved Barrett going over Orton. He definitely needed the win to make himself look like he can handle himself in the main event picture. - I've already told you how boring SmackDown's diva divison is, and I stick by that. The only upside here was A.J. taking the victory. - Decent Bryan/ Rhodes segment. Hopefully we're getting a match between the two at SS. - Henry going over Kane was the right call but I'm not so stoked on you using the exact same scene as WWE used to take Kane out. I see why you did it, but there were others way it could happen that using the exact same method. - Good to see Bryan vs. Rhodes being added to Summerslam. Both of these men need a big feud to take them to the next level and if done properly it could be this. - I'm not so thrilled about the idea of a Jackson/ Mahal feud. Sure, Jinder needs the big feud and all but the guy is green in the ring and a match with Jackson would be a mess. Plus Ezekial/ Khali is not a match I'd tune in to watch. - I'm split on Sheamus going over Christian cleanly. It makes Sheamus look strong, which is all well and good, but it also makes your World Heavyweight Champion look weak ahead of a fatal four way, a match that he's already at a disadvantage in. Not a big complaint by any means, just one that personally I think should have gone the other way. - A decent show but nothing special by any means. SmackDown's in a bit of a rut right now and you need to turn that around.

WWE SmackDown: Friday 5th August 2011...Christian kicking off the show is a decent move, his appearances at the beginning of SmackDown is getting quite repetitive though. Mix it up a little bit. More tension with Christian and Randy Orton going into SummerSlam, putting Christian and Orton into different matches, the whole shabang. Wade Barrett beating Randy Orton was quite surprising to see, but I like it. Happy to see Barrett with a win against the number one contender, roll-up or not. A.J. beating Tamina wasn't anything special. Like that you are beginning to potentially do something with AJ. Natalya, AJ and Kaitlyn dominating Tamina, Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox makes sense. Mark Henry beating Kane was a good move, these two have had way too many matches though. Liked Henry just annihilating Kane. Daniel Bryan beating Ted Dibiase sounded typical; nothing too special, but it sounded decent. I hope Cody Rhodes and Bryan's feud ends at SummerSlam. Mixed on whom I want to win though; would rather Cody win, but Bryan needs it in his first feud following winning Money in the Bank. And believe me, Bryan needs A LOT of work to look like a main eventer. Jinder Mahal and the Great Khali's promo was good, quite enjoyed it. At least Mahal and Ezekiel Jackson hopefully won't be happening at SummerSlam. I hope Zeke manages to keep the WWE Intercontinental Championship for another couple of months, too. Interesting move to make said match offer a promo, too. Sheamus beating Christian was a solid main event, happy to see Sheamus with the win; I'd like him as World Heavyweight Champion, but I see Christian or Orton winning. Overall, decent show, but it wasn't anything other than usual.

A possible return for The Undertaker? Recent rumors have surfaced that The Undertaker is indeed on the verge of a return to the WWE. It is expected that it could be in time for WWE Survivor Series this November. There has been some doubt over Undertaker's WWE status, and even news that he could be omitted from this year's WrestleMania in terms of an actual match. The feeling is that The Undertaker should retire upon a 20-0 WrestleMania Streak, but there are no worthy contenders for a final opponent this year. And with The Rock versus John Cena as the focal point of WrestleMania 28, it is felt that The Undertaker's final match would be overshadowed, and instead should be given Main Event status, perhaps at WrestleMania 29 the following year. More on this as it comes.
Sin Cara's future improving Despite recent reports that Sin Cara's future with the WWE is uncertain, it seems that it is looking better than expected. It is still unsure, but it is looking more positive. Cara was removed from the WWE SummerSlam poster and replaced with R-Truth, but has continued to be advertised for live events later this year. His 30-day suspension will be coming to an end towards the end of the month.
CM Punk versus John Cena - What will happen? The entire wrestling universe have been gripped by the head storyline between CM Punk and John Cena. It is unsure as to which way the decision will go, as many believe that CM Punk only signed up to a short extension on his contract so he could wrestle to SummerSlam, while others say he is contracted full-time. If CM Punk wins at SummerSlam, John Cena will be 'fired' from the WWE. This Monday on Raw, we will witness the official contract signing for the match between the two.
Daniel Bryan set for mega-push Upon his victory at WWE Money in the Bank, Daniel Bryan is set to receive a huge push in order to build him towards his eventual World Heavyweight Championship Match. Many feel that while Bryan has the skills within the ring, he isn't credible enough to be competing in the Main Event just yet, let alone for the World Heavyweight Championship. We learnt on SmackDown that Bryan will take on Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam in what is slated as the end to their recent feud. Feud ideas for Bryan have been brought up for after SummerSlam, and names include Wade Barrett and Mark Henry, but nothing is certain. Expect to see Daniel Bryan in a larger role on SmackDown in the coming weeks.
The Anonymous Raw General Manager to be revealed soon? With the recent silence of the Raw General Manager, only recently re-appearing this past Monday on Raw, it is expected that he will be revealed in the coming months. The GM is likely to be involved in the Punk/Cena/McMahon storyline, but nothing is confirmed. More on this as it comes.

Monday Night Raw, August 8th, 2011 - The HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. "Yes, sir, we promised you a great Main Event..."
Cue Opening Package.
Pyrotechnics explode from the stage, and the WWE|HD banner flashes across the screen. Michael Cole and Jerry 'The King' Lawler welcome us to this sold out show in San Jose, California. They remind us that tonight, the official contract signing between John Cena and the WWE Champion, CM Punk will take place, and the Chairman, Mr. McMahon will be there to oversee it. Lawler explains how he senses something fishy about this whole situation, but Cole shrugs it off, saying Lawler is just paranoid. We then hear Justin Roberts introducing Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez to a ton of heat. The theme of Alberto Del Rio follows.
He comes out in one of his priceless cars, holding his Raw Money in the Bank briefcase. He hen enters the ring to an introduction from Rodriguez. Del Rio explains how tonight, we will see a WWE Championship contract signing between CM Punk and John Cena, but he reminds us all how he won a Triple Threat #1 Contendership Match a month ago before Money in the Bank. He says that anything to do with the WWE Championship should be completely void until he gets his rightful WWE Championship Match. He then goes on to explain why he attacked and challenged Rey Mysterio last week. He says that Rey Mysterio is loved by everyone, whether it be man, woman or child. He says that Mysterio is an icon to the WWE Universe, and by attacking him, he gets noticed. He says how the lack of respect for him since winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match has been disgusting, and that he is the most valuable person on the roster. He says that he will defeat Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam, and then take on whoever is the WWE Champion afterwards. Suddenly, the theme of Rey Mysterio hits to a huge pop. He tells Del Rio that he needs to stop running his mouth about respect, because respect has to be earned, and so far, he done nothing but cheat to win, saying how Del Rio knows full well the severity of taking off another wrestler's mask in a match in Mexico. Del Rio laughs, telling Rey that he cares not for anything but winning. Mysterio tells him that wrestling isn't all about winning, it's about honor and respect, and that's what he's going to teach Del Rio, but not at SummerSlam... right now! Mysterio slides into the ring and Del Rio escapes, the Raw General Manager chimes in.
"May I have your attention please, I have received an e-mail from the Anonymous Raw General Manager..." Michael Cole says, getting a ton of heat. He then reads. "And I quote - This rivalry clearly needs to be settled, and quite frankly, I don't think it can wait until SummerSlam, so tonight in the Main Event, you two will be competing against each other... in a tag team match. It will be Alberto Del Rio and R-Truth, versus Rey Mysterio and John Morrison!" The crowd erupt as the Monday Night Raw theme hits. Del Rio clutches his briefcase and walks around the ring to the ramp, pointing and shouting at Mysterio. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
The Bella Twins def. Divas Champion Kelly Kelly & Beth Phoenix. In what was a shocking turn of events, The Bella Twins managed to defeat the Champion and the challenger in one match. The Bellas beat down on The Glamazon, until she found an opening to tag in Kelly. She did, but as Kelly ran towards the middle of the ring, Phoenix grabbed her wrist, yanked her back and planted her with the GlamSlam! The crowd looked on in shock as Phoenix shouted at Nikki Bella to make the cover, and she did.
The Bella Twins escaped in celebration as Beth Phoenix stood over her SummerSlam opponent. She squatted in the center of the ring as Kelly lay flat on her back, and simply tilted her head at the Divas Champion. Phoenix then stood up and taunted to a ton of heat as we cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE's Anti-Bullying Campaign, featuring multiple WWE superstars and divas. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see Josh Mathews backstage alongside The Miz to a ton of heat. He asks him how he feels about the Loser Leaves Raw stipulation in his match with Alex Riley at SummerSlam. Miz does his "Really?" skit before saying that he knows that he isn't going nowhere. He promises to beat Alex Riley and send him back to SmackDown where he should be. Miz says that if he was by any chance to lose, which he won't, that Raw would die a slow and painful death, because without him, it's just another show. He says that Alex Riley is just a little pest that needs to be exterminated, and that's exactly what he's going to do this Sunday. He leaves and we cut to ringside.
United States Champion Dolph Ziggler with Vickie Guerrero def. Evan Bourne in a non-title match. Both Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre were on commentary in this one, at either side of the desk. Ziggler put away Bourne with the ZigZag to finish the match.
Afterwards, Ziggler requested a microphone and Vickie handed him one. He pointed to both McIntyre and Kingston and told them that neither of them are worthy of a shot at the United States Championship, and he doesn't even understand why they're here. He says that he is the future of Raw, and with a beautiful woman by his side (we'll assume he means Vickie), there's nothing that can stop him. McIntyre grabs a mic and gets to his feet, saying that Ziggler is all talk, and given the chance, he would take the United States Championship from him easily. Kingston also stands with a microphone and says that McIntyre walks onto the scene and thinks he can take his title shot, but it isn't going to happen. Kingston says he wants one last shot at Ziggler. McIntyre and Kofi Kingston go face-to-face in front of the announce desk, virtually breathing down each others throats. Ziggler and Vickie take the time to escape the ring at this point. McIntyre and Kingston turn towards the ramp to see Ziggler walking away with a smile, sarcastically waving to them both as we cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We see a promo package for WWE SummerSlam, airing on August 14th, 2011. It is played to the theme of 'Bright Lights, Bigger City' by Cee Lo Green. We then return to Raw.
Alex Riley def. Jack Swagger. After costing The Miz his match last week against Rey Mysterio, Miz tried to return the favor, but he didn't succeed. He rushed to ringside to try and distract Riley, jumping on the apron, but after Riley had come face-to-face with him, he dodged and Swagger collided with Miz, knocking him off the apron. Riley then planted Swagger with the Floating DDT for the victory.
Riley celebrated to a huge pop as The Miz looked to be furious. He entered the ring and the two began to trade blows. The fight went outside by the commentary desk and Riley slammed Miz's face into it. Michael Cole stood up, shouting abuse at Riley, and the crowd erupted when Riley socked him one right in the jaw. Lawler laughed his ass off as Cole fell back into his chair holding his jaw. The change of attention meant The Miz could escape however, rushing up the ramp holding his head. Riley's theme hits and he shouted to The Miz that he was going to beat him at SummerSlam. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to commentary desk where Lawler is still in hysterics and Cole is holding an ice pack to his jaw. Cole shouts at Lawler, telling him it isn't funny and that Riley should be fired for what he just did. Lawler tells him to get off his high horse and that he was asking to get punched. We then go to our next match.
Jimmy Uso with Jey Uso def. WWE Tag Team Champion Michael McGillicutty with David Otunga. In the second of two matches between these two teams, Jimmy Uso defeated Michael McGillicutty. Last week, Jey Uso lost to David Otunga, but The Usos regained their momentum this week on Raw when Jimmy hit McGillicutty with a huge Samoan Drop.
After the match, Otunga and McGillicutty fled with their WWE Tag Team Championship, but The Usos got on the mic and challenged them to a match at SummerSlam. The WWE Tag Team Champions turned to each other before accepting the challenge. The crowd popped as The Usos celebrated the victory. We then cut backstage.
Josh Mathews is backstage alongside John Morrison to a huge pop. He asks Morrison if he is 100% healed from the injuries sustained at the hands of R-Truth. Morrison says he doesn't know about 100%, but he's feeling a lot better. He couldn't wait and heal fully because he just wanted to get at R-Truth so bad. he says that at SummerSlam, he's going to make Truth feel all the pain he felt when he injured him, and he's going to knock those voices right out of his head. Morrison walks off to a pop as we cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Rey Mysterio & John Morrison def. Alberto Del Rio & R-Truth. A brilliant tag team Main Event right here, with Mysterio and Morrison coming out on top. At one point, Morrison finally got his hands on Truth and starts pummeling him, but Del Rio got involved and kicked Morrison off. Mysterio springboarded in and took Del Rio out with a seated senton. Morrison was eventually able to hit the Starship Pain on R-Truth for the victory.
After the match, Rey Mysterio and John Morrison celebrated the victory as R-Truth and Del Rio fled. A double staredown took place as we cut backstage.
We see a split screen with John Cena walking on one side, and the WWE Champion, CM Punk with Mr. McMahon on the other. Cole and Lawler tells us that the contract signing - is NEXT!
Commercial Break.
We return to see the ring set up, ready for the contract signing. We then see the entrance of the WWE Champion, CM Punk and Mr. McMahon to a ton of heat. They have two security guards with them. Punk walks in front, almost hogging the spotlight as McMahon struts behind him. They enter the ring and CM Punk begins to speak as the security guards stand behind Punk. He tells the WWE Universe that he couldn't care less what they think of him, because love him or hate him, he's taking the 'precious' John Cena out of the picture for good, and he's going to be the new cover guy. He says that his exclusive contract for Vince McMahon gives him power above everyone else, to help make the WWE a better place and it starts by getting rid of the cancer that is John Cena. The crowd boo as Punk says that John Cena is nothing but an ass kisser who talks his way to the top. He says that he had to work to get here, climbing through the 'indies', while John Cena got it handed to him on a silver platter, debuting in a match against Kurt Angle of all people. Punk turns to Vince and asks him "What were you thinking?". McMahon takes the microphone and says that he was thinking about business, he was thinking about money. He says that Cena drew in the dollars, he put people on seats, filled up his arenas. But he admits that now, John Cena is a stale character, and needs to be removed from everything WWE, because all he is doing is draining the life out of the WWE. Jerry Lawler mentions how Mr. McMahon appears to be talking like CM Punk, as if he's been... brainwashed. Punk says that he's now calling out John Cena to come and sign the contract and gets this over with. John Cena's theme hits to a huge pop and he walks out looking pretty serious. He enters the ring and comes face-to-face with CM Punk. Two members of security enter the ring and stand by the sides of Punk as Punk smirks. Cena doesn't say a word and simply sits down with the pen in his hand ready to write. Punk says "What's wrong, John? You upset because you know this is your last night on Raw?". Cena looks up with an angry face and says nothing. Punk slides the contract over to him and John Cena signs it. Punk tells him he's a "good boy" and then signs it himself. He tells the WWE Universe that the match is now official, and they can officially say goodbye to John Cena. Cena grabs a microphone of his own and tells Punk to wait a minute. Punk comically says "He speaks?!".
Cena tells CM Punk that he's happy with all of this, and he likes nothing more than to fight with everything on the line, because it gives him more motivation. He says that Stephanie McMahon and the WWE Board of Directors have given him this opportunity because they had faith in him to save the WWE from the corruption that is CM Punk and Vince McMahon. He says that at SummerSlam, he will do all he can to win back the WWE Championship and stop this once and for all, and if it means putting his whole career on the line, then that's fine. CM Punk says that fighting talk from Cena won't get him anywhere, because it's inevitable that he will lose this Sunday. Cena says not to count him out yet, because he recalls that CM Punk only beat him at Money in the Bank because of Mr. McMahon and John Laurinitas' interference. CM Punk says Money in the Bank was always his night, and he was going to win either way. Cena gets up in Punk's face and tells him to try it again. Security are quick to shove Cena back. Punk says that Cena will have to wait six more days before he does that. Cena tells him that he can't wait. CM Punk starts the 'Goodbye' song but the crowd just boo as McMahon laughs. Suddenly, as everyone is laughing, Cena explodes, shoving the two security guards back, jumping across the contract table and tackling Punk to the canvas to a huge pop.
Cena drives his right hand into the skull of Punk multiple times before security is able to pull him off. Punk gets back to his feet telling Cena that he'll regret that come Sunday. The security guards hold an arm each of John Cena, and CM Punk proceeds to hold the WWE Championship in front of Cena's face. He then lowers it and to the shock of the crowd, SPITS in his face. Cena becomes irate and CM Punk and Mr. McMahon flee from the ring. Cena delivers blows to the security guards, throwing one out of the ring. Cena then lifts the other onto his shoulders and looks directly at Punk on the ramp before driving the security guard through the contract table. Cena's theme hits and he leans on the ropes, breathing heavily in anger as he stares at Punk. Punk smirks at Cena before doing his 'You Can't See Me' taunt in mockery. Monday Night Raw fades to a close. © 2011 World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

RAW:
- I couldn't honestly care less about the Del Rio/ Mysterio feud. It's been done and that was only what, seven months ago. You're meant to be building Del Rio up in the main event and really you could have used someone else in Mysterio's role, literally anyone else, and I would have been more interested. - The Diva's match should have come later in the show. Meh, I've just seen Beth turn heel in real WWE, making her turn here even more obvious than before. Still, hopefully Beth takes the title at Summerslam. - The loser leaves RAW stipulation adds an interesting end to Miz/ Riley. I think you'd be foolish to offload Miz to SmackDown, it would be so much better for Riley's career if he went to the blue brand. - See, Ziggler/ Bourne would have been a much better opener here. I dodn't want to see yet another Ziggler/ Kingston match so hopefully McIntyre wins whatever number one contender match seems to be coming. - Solid win for Alex Riley here, I really hope you find something for Swagger to do soon. - Good win for Jimmy Uso here, The Uso's deserve the tag titles and Summerslam is the perfect opportunity. - Solid tag team match, I'm not really sure if the clean victory was the best choice to make on the go-home show to Summerslam but that's a minor complaint. - Solid ending segment, one of the better parts of an otherwise stale show. You've hyped up the Punk/ Cena match well. It may not have the grandiose feel to it that their MITB bout had but it's still going to be an interesting match. - A decent show but other than the ending segment there really wasn't anything that would have kept me hooked. Hopefully you can improve things after Summerslam.

WWE RAW: Monday 8th August 2011...Decent promo from Alberto Del Rio to kick off the show, did the job quite well and is a nice change from having John Cena, Triple H and CM Punk out on the opening promo every week. Good set up for Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio's match at SummerSlam, something to look forward to. Good to see the Anonymous RAW General Manager again, but he does need to be revealed quite soon. Not quite interested in the tag team match tonight; John Morrison needs to come off more angrier at R-Truth, and with six days until their match at SummerSlam (which will hopefully end the feud at long last) I feel like he could have used a promo later tonight rather than just jumping into the generic mixed-feud tag team situation. Weak opening contest, the Bella Twins beating Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix was alright I guess. Good to see Beth take the heel turn, I just don't think it was too necessary. Would have made Dolph Ziggler and Evan Bourne the opening contest, really. Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre on commentary? Odd. Would have been an awkward commentary team in this match. Ziggler winning was quite likely. I suppose Kofi Kingston and McIntyre will challenge Ziggler for the WWE United States Championship soon. Not going to be that fond of it though, Kofi's awful these days. Alex Riley beating Jack Swagger was the right decision, good match. Liked The Miz coming out, I feel that with this being one of the men's final appearance on RAW, they should have had a promo. It didn't do a lot to final build the match at SummerSlam, Loser Leaves RAW is an important stipulation. Yet Swagger got more air time than Miz. Liked the involvement of Michael Cole in this though. Not interested in the Usos' match with David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty at SummerSlam, it wouldn't be an interesting pay-per-view match. Should happen on RAW or SmackDown, really. In addition, eight matches PLUS the Cee Lo Green concert in the space of three hours is a little too much. Unless one match is extremely short. Jimmy winning made it even for the Usos and the WWE Tag Team Champions; can not see Otunga and McGillicutty retaining on Sunday though. Rey Mysterio and John Morrison beating Alberto Del Rio and R-Truth did the job suitably. Good promo with CM Punk and Vince McMahon, and John Cena to close the show. That was a good build for SummerSlam on Sunday. Decent show, I'm interested

Santino celebrated his victory in classic fashion, doing his trumpet taunt. He then went under the ring to pull out a box, full of Cobra handsocks. He started throwing them into the crowd as we cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE's Anti-Bullying Campaign featuring multiple WWE superstars and divas. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Jack Korpela and Matt Striker are now on commentary.
Brodus Clay with Tyson Kidd def. Yoshi Tatsu. Tyson Kidd sat back and watched as his newly hired bodyguard ploughed through the Japanese superstar, finishing him off with a huge Big Splash.
After the match, Brodus Clay lifted Tatsu to his feet and Kidd proceeded to slap Tatsu across the face. They then celebrated to a ton of heat as we cut backstage.
Todd Grisham is backstage alongside Eve, Gail Kim and Natalya to a pop. He asks them their opinion on Beth Phoenix's recent change of attitude this past Monday on Raw. Eve says she was shocked when she saw Beth turn on the Divas Champion, Kelly Kelly. Gail Kim explains that she always new Beth had a mean streak, but she thought she had changed. Natalya says she understands that Phoenix wanted to get a head start on SummerSlam, but she thinks she went about it the rong way. The divas leave and we cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
Josh Mathews and Scott Stanford return to the commentary desk for the remainder of the show.
Zack Ryder def. Primo. Former tag team partners, and Ryder seems to have a knack for defeating them. Tonight was no different as Ryder once again vanquished a person frm his pastm, defeating Primo with the Rough Ryder.
Ryder celebrated to an enormous pop from the crowd. Ryder leaves the ring and gives a high-five to Scott Stanford who is well-known for appearing on Ryder's YouTube show. Stanford applauds the Long Island Iced Z as we cut to a promo package.

Commercial Break.
Eve, Gail Kim & Natalya def. Maryse, Alicia Fox & Tamina. In what was a great Six-Diva Tag Team Main Event, the face divas came out on top. Natalya got her revenge on Alicia Fox as she made her tap out with the legendary Sharpshooter, shame of her uncle, WWE Hall of Famer, Bret Hart.
The divas celebrated as Maryse, Fox and Tamina left in disappointment. Mathews and Stanford remind us that at SummerSlam, Kelly Kelly will defend the Divas Championship against Beth Phoenix. WWE Superstars then fades to a close. © 2011 World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

WWE Superstars: Thursday 11th August 2011...Santino Marella beating JTG is a strong opening contest. Can see Vladimir Kozlov getting booted since he's not at ringside. Hope that JTG manages to build up some steam; he's a good heel character. Brodus Clay beating Yoshi Tatsu was pure elimentary. Liked Tyson Kidd's confidence. Hopefully Clay lasts longer than Jackson Andrews. Zack Ryder beating Primo made a lot of sense. Liked the spot with Ryder high fiving Scott Stanford. Fair divas six-woman tag team main event to close the show, Natalya getting the win wouldn't have been my first choice, but oh well. Nothing special this week on Superstars.

Friday Night SmackDown, August 12th, 2011 – The Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento, California. ”Yes, sir, we promise you a great Main Event…”
Cue Opening Package.
Josh Mathews, Michael Cole and Booker T greet us following a spectacular pyrotechnics display. The WWE|HD banner flashes across the screen and we are then taken to the commentary desk. We are told that with WWE SummerSlam just two days away, the SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long has issued four singles matches pitting the four competitors of the Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Championship Match at SummerSlam against opponents of his choice, but none of them have been told who their opponent will be. They also remind us that the Intercontinental Champion, Ezekiel Jackson will take on The Great Khali in a non-title match. We then hear the theme of Sheamus to a huge pop. He comes out, enters the ring and awaits the theme of his opponent. The crowd boo as the theme of Cody Rhodes hits. We then cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE SummerSlam, airing this Sunday, August 14th, 2011. It is played to the theme of ‘Bright Lights, Bigger City’ by Cee Lo Green. We then return to SmackDown.
Sheamus def. Cody Rhodes with Ted DiBiase. Both men are looking for an advantage going into their respective SummerSlam matches, but unfortunately, Sheamus has been on a roll as of late, and after disposing Ted DiBiase from the apron by throwing Rhodes into him, he was able to hit Rhodes with a Brogue Kick for the victory.
After the match, Sheamus celebrated his win, one step closer to capturing the World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday at SummerSlam. DiBiase helps Rhodes to his feet, but Rhodes slaps him off and storms off, angry at his loss. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see Matt Striker alongside the Intercontinental Champion, Ezekiel Jackson to a pop. He asks him how he feels about going up against SmackDown largest superstar, knowing what he can do with his signature Vice Grip. Jackson says that The Great Khali is without a doubt a large obstacle, but he has no worries, because he’s going to do what he always does, and that’s dominate! And as soon as he is finished with The Great Khali, he’s going to get it into Jinder Mahal’s head that if he wants a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, he’s going to have to deal with that very domination. He leaves and we cut to ringside.
Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson def. The Great Khali with Jinder Mahal in a non-title match. After Jackson was driven to unconsciousness two weeks ago at the hands of The Great Khali, this match has come about. Mahal shouted at Khali to put Jackson out, but he couldn’t get the job done as Jackson took Khali out with a thunderous Running Lariat. He then covered the giant, his eyes locked on Jinder Mahal who gulped at the sight of the huge Ezekiel Jackson with a smirk on his face.
The crowd erupted as Jackson celebrated his victory. Mahal gets on the microphone and shouts something in Indian before translating, saying that Jackson got lucky. He says that once he is in the ring with him again, he promises to become the new Intercontinental Champion. Jackson beckons Mahal into the ring, but Mahal shakes his head, saying “soon”. The Great Khali leaves, holding his head, Mahal following him, shouting abuse at Jackson in Indian. We then cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see Wade Barrett in the ring, ready for his individual match set by Theodore Long. He awaits his opponent, and the crowd erupts as the SmackDown Money in the Bank holder, Daniel Bryan hits the ring.
Wade Barrett def. Daniel Bryan. This was a great match, and we were reminded of Barrett and Bryan’s past, both former members of the original Nexus. When Daniel Bryan was looking to take the match, a frustrated Cody Rhodes arrived at ringside without Ted DiBiase, but alongside his personal ‘bag holders’. Rhodes got one of the bags and held it up to Bryan who was watching him, telling him this was for him. Bryan told Rhodes to back off, but turned around into Barrett, who lifted him up for The Wasteland and planted him before picking up the win.
Wade Barrett managed to escape with the victory as Cody Rhodes smirked. Daniel Bryan held his head as he got to his feet, but Rhodes had entered the ring, the bag still in hand. He grabbed Bryan and then planted him with the Cross-Rhodes. Cody then sat Bryan up and placed the paper bag over his head before kicking him back to the canvas. Rhodes screamed at Bryan, saying he was going to disfigure him at SummerSlam so he knows how it feels. Rhodes leaves and we fade backstage on a shot of Bryan laying on the canvas with the paper bag over his head.
We cut backstage to the office of SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long. He is approached by the World Heavyweight Champion, Christian to a ton of heat. Long asks him what he wants, and Christian tells him that he doesn’t think that a match tonight is fair. He says that he’s the World Heavyweight Champion and deserves his rest just two days before the Pay-Per-View. Long tells him to stop trying to worm his way out of matches, and that he should go to the ring now, because his match is up next after this break. Christian looks angry, and reminds Long what he said last week, that he would pay for what he is doing to him as Champion. Christian leaves and we cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
World Heavyweight Champion Christian def. Justin Gabriel in a non-title match. Justin Gabriel as getting the chance of a lifetime here tonight, a chance to defeat the World Heavyweight Champion. However, Christian’s experience combined with his anger as of late allowed him to pick up the victory, avoiding a 450 Splash and then hitting the Killswitch.
Christian celebrated his victory, holding his World Heavyweight Championship up high. He shouted that he was the true Champion to a lot of heat. We then cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for WWE’s Anti-Bullying Campaign, featuring multiple WWE superstars and divas. We then return to SmackDown.
We see Matt Striker backstage once more, this time alongside Randy Orton to a huge pop. He asks Orton if he has any ideas who is opponent is tonight, but Orton tells him he doesn’t know, and he doesn’t care. He says that whoever his opponent is, they will not stand in his way of winning tonight, just like Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Christian won’t get in his way of regaining the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton says that he doesn’t care if he has the Punt his way through the competition, but he is leaving SummerSlam with the gold. He walks off and we cut to a commercial break.
Commercial Break.
We return to see Josh Mathews and Booker T stood in the ring. They run down the entire WWE SummerSlam card for this Sunday, closing with the huge Main Event of CM Punk defending the WWE Championship against John Cena, and if John Cena loses, then he is fired! The SmackDown theme hits as Michael Cole starts slating his colleagues on commentary, saying he could have done a better job, and saying that they barely even mentioned The Miz’s match with Alex Riley, which The Miz “will win”. We then cut backstage.
We are shown the divas locker room where Natalya is talking to A.J. and Kaitlyn. She tells them that she is proud of them and that they will be Divas Championship potential in no time. They are interrupted by Alicia Fox, Tamina and Rosa Mendes to a ton of heat. Fox laughs, telling Natalya to stop building they’re hopes up, because they’re nothing but little girls, not powerful women like her. Natalya gets in Alicia’s face, telling her that is wasn’t too long ago that Fox was a novice in the ring, so she can’t talk. Tamina steps in front of Alicia and tells Natalya to back off, and that just because she has a legendary father doesn’t make her special, because she has a legendary father too. Natalya tells Tamina that her father is proud of her, but Tamina walks around and abuses her status as a second generation diva. Tamina slaps Natalya, and Natalya fights back. A huge diva brawl breaks out and referees are called in to stop it. We then cut further backstage.
Randy Orton is shown walking down a corridor, ready for his match tonight as Michael Cole exclaims that he is in action – NEXT!
Commercial Break.
Randy Orton enters the ring to a huge pop and awaits his opponent. He crowd go from cheers to a huge amount of boos, and the commentary team express their worry as the theme of the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry hits.
Randy Orton def. Mark Henry via Disqualification. Mark Henry was as destructive as ever, throwing The Viper around the ring with ease. Orton put up a good fight as he always does and at one point, measured Henry for the RKO, but out of nowhere, Orton is attacked by the World Heavyweight Champion, Christian who cracks him with the title belt, causing the disqualification.
Christian smiles and stands tall over Randy Orton, happy with what he has done. Sheamus appears from the crowd, and drills Christian with a huge Brogue Kick to a massive pop. Wade Barrett makes an appearance and takes Sheamus out with a huge clothesline. Wade Barrett shouts that he will be the next World Heavyweight Champion, only to turn around in an RKO from Orton! However, just as it looks like Orton is standing tall… Mark Henry picks him up and drops him with the World’s Strongest Slam! The crowd are in shock as the one man left standing is Mark Henry. We see Christian leave the ring with his World Heavyweight Championship, looking back at the carnage as Mark Henry towers above everybody. Henry beats his chest and screams to a ton of heat from the crowd. Christian looks on worried, clutching his World Heavyweight Championship belt. SmackDown then fades to a close. © 2011 World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

Each competitor facing an opponent tonight should be some good warm-up. Like the Sheamus face turn in your diary as well. Sheamus over Rhodes hurts Cody's cause, but makes Sheamus look pretty strong. The slap is confusing though. Solid Zeke promo. Seemed like he had a pretty easy job putting Khali down too. Barrett over Bryan evens the score for Sunday; should be an interesting midcard match. Like how Christian tried to weasel his way out of the match. An easy opponent for Christian with Gabriel; was expecting someone different. Divas segment seemed like a filler and its so hard to book them to me because they are just uninteresting. Orton gets Henry? How is that fair? haha Good way to end though with Henry standing tall...I am surprised he was left out of the World Title match. Solid show; looking forward to the PPV.

Sheamus as a face is nice, unsure if that's going on currently on WWE programming. Possible Cody/Ted feud? Zeke/Khali was what it was. Would have sucked but made Zeke look good with a win over Khali. Barrett over Bryan is interesting as it means both Bryan and Cody are going into their match at SummerSlam with pretty much no momentum. However, Barrett and Sheamus both needed more momentum than Cody and Bryan. Easy win for Christian over Gabriel. Henry/Orton was the right choice for a main event here. Odd for you to push Henry so much yet he's not even on the SummerSlam card. None of the releases fuss me except Trent Barreta. You could have really used him well.

Excellent choice of opening contest here, would really get the crowd going. Rhodes does lose a bit of momentum, but he can afford to take the hit against a reinvigorated and now face Sheamus imo. Like that he took anger out on Ted afterwards as well. Good interview with Jackson, glad you mentioned the domination thing, and got across his dominance by having him beat Khali. Good stuff. Don't think really Mahal is good enough to be IC Champ yet, but love that you are keeping him high on the ard by giving him a title feud. Good stuff. Wade Barrett vs Daniel Bryan is another good match up, a nice run of contest on this show so far. Glad that Wade took the win, and Cody gets into Bryan's head afterwards. If I was Christian, I wouldn't have been whining about Gabriel. Would've been an entertaining match up no doubt, but too easy an opponent for Christian imo. The rundown segment seemed like filler, which isn't good. The divas segment was good, set up a potential feud which I like. I liked Christian interrupting the close of the match, it helped keep both men looking strong, but I hated the aftermath. I just don't think Henry should've been left standing tall over three World Title contenders when the match is in two days. Good show, it felt a little short and the end of it seemed iffy, but Summerslam seems like it will be a solid event.

I can get into this more once you get past SummerSlam because I feel like this will become more of your own ideas and not just dragging things out from what actually has been happened or recent feuds. I’m looking over the SummerSlam card, which looks pretty decent to me. Just some brief Smackdown thoughts.
Decent start to the show as it makes sense for Sheamus to get the win considering he is in the co-main event for SummerSlam. I don’t know exactly when DiBiase/Rhodes have been paired but it seems fairly recent, so I don’t know about teasing a split. Alright win for Jackson, but I don’t have any interest in Khali or his buddy. didn’t really like Bryan losing but it advanced his feud with Rhodes. I hope Bryan goes over Rhodes. Gabriel is a rather weak opponent for Christian and I didn’t buy into the whole champion being weakened or whatever. Typical brawl to end the show after a rather lackluster main event. Seemed like a fine episode with some last minute feud progression. I’ll be reading SummerSlam.

| WWE SummerSlam, August 14th, 2011 - The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. | Dark Match: Zack Ryder def. Jack Swagger with the Rough Ryder. |
"Yes, sir, we promised you a great Main Event..."
Before the show opens up, we see a quick highlights package, hyping the main matches for tonight, including the Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Championship Match, and the WWE Championship Match. It closes with a shot of CM Punk standing with one foot on John Cena's chest, raising the WWE Championship with McMahon applauding him in the background. We then kick off SummerSlam.
"And now... WWE and 7-11 present - WWE SummerSlam!"
The pyrotechnics explode and the Los Angeles crowd go wild! The theme of 'Bright Lights, Bigger City' by Cee Lo Green echoes around the arena as the WWE|HD banner flashes across our screens. We are greeted by the commentary team of Michael Cole, Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Booker T. They welcome us to this sold out show here in Hollywood and tells us that tonight will be nothing short of amazing. They run down a few of the matches, accompanied by graphics on the titantron, before finally mentioned the WWE Championship Match where CM Punk will defend against John Cena, and if Cena loses - he is fired! The crowd then pop as the theme of John Morrison is heard, and SummerSlam is about to get underway.
#1 | Street Fight - R-Truth versus John Morrison. | | These two men have gone from former best friends and tag team partners, to mortal enemies in the space of just a few months. R-Truth is guilty of injuring John Morrison earlier this year, and Morrison has returned for revenge. The Street Fight rules soon come into play when R-Truth gets a bottle of water and smashes it across the head of Morrison. He starts telling "Little Jimmies" in the front row to shut up. Morrison battles back, hitting some kicks to Truth. Morrison then picks up a steel chair and takes out his frustration, smacking it across the spine of Truth. Morrison decided to go one better, and pulled out a table from under the ring. He set it up inside and laid Truth on it. Morrison went for Starship Pain, but Truth moved and Morrison drove himself through the table. Morrison struggled to his feet, only to be hit with the Shut Up! onto the steel chair, giving R-Truth the victory. | | R-Truth defeats John Morrison with the Shut Up!. |
The crowd boo as loud as they can as R-Truth gets to his feet in celebration. They cannot believe that John Morrison has failed to get revenge on his former best friend, and once again, the conspiracy theorist has prevailed. R-Truth grins from ear-to-ear, talking to his imaginary characters surrounding him. Booker T calls Truth a "mad dawg" and Michael Cole tells him that Truth may be mad, but he's as dominant as ever. We then cut to a promo package.
We see a promo package for the WWE's Anti-Bullying Campaign, featuring multiple WWE superstars and divas. We then return to SummerSlam.
Backstage, we see Josh Mathews standing by alongside Wade Barrett to a ton of heat. He asks Barrett if he thinks that tonight could be his chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion. Barrett tells him that he doesn't think that, he knows that. He is guaranteeing victory tonight, and promises to walk out of SummerSlam as the NEW World Heavyweight Champion, no matter who he has to pin to get there. He walks off and we return to ringside.
#2 | WWE Tag Team Champions David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty versus The Usos. | | The Usos have really upped their game as of late, and managed to get themselves a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championships. But the former Nexus members were not about to hand them the belts without a fight. Otunga isolated Jimmy Uso for most of the match, frequently switching with McGillicutty and vice versa. However, Jimmy managed to make the tag to Jey, who exploded in and looked to be in complete control. Jimmy Uso sacrificed himself and catapulted himself over the top rope to take out McGillicutty. Inside the ring, Jey went for the Samoan Splash on Otunga, but got nothing but knees. Otunga then planted him with The Verdict for the victory, before Jimmy could do anything about it. | | David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty defeat The Usos to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships. |
Otunga and McGillicutty fled with their titles intact as Jimmy Uso entered the ring to tend to his brother. The WWE Tag Team Champions raised their titles high with smirks on their faces to a ton of heat. We then cut backstage.
Josh Mathews is backstage once again, but this time alongside the SmackDown Money in the Bank winner, Daniel Bryan to a huge pop. He asks Daniel Bryan if besides facing Cody Rhodes tonight, he has any other plans with the World Heavyweight Championship and his briefcase. Bryan says that his main focus tonight is on Cody Rhodes, and making sure he proves that Rhodes is wrong, and that he is worthy of holding the contract. He tells Josh that with that being said, he will be watching the World Heavyweight Championship Match tonight, very closely. He leaves and we return to ringside.
#3 | Cody Rhodes with Ted DiBiase versus Daniel Bryan. | | An already unhinged Cody Rhodes has become even more so in recent weeks, targeting Daniel Bryan due to his victory at Money in the Bank. Rhodes wants to expose Bryan as unworthy of holding the Money in the Bank contract, but Bryan thinks otherwise. The match gets underway, but just two minutes in and Ted DiBiase sticks his nose in. The referee soon sees to that though and bans him from ringside to a huge pop. Finally, the match can go uninterrupted. Rhodes unleashes his frustration on Bryan, delivering visious headbutts which are even more dangerous thanks to Rhodes' protective face mask. Bryan suddenly goes for the LeBelle Lock to a huge pop, but Rhodes leaves the ring in a hurry. The match continues once Rhodes get back in the ring and it's looking in Rhodes' favour. He sits Bryan on the top rope and then climbs up, looking to go for a superplex of some sort, it seems. However, the thr crowd's excitement, Daniel Bryan grabs the facemask of Rhodes, causing him to grab it, losing his grip and falling backwards to the canvas. The crowd cheer as still in Bryan's hand in the facemask, and Rhodes lays on the canvas covering his face. Bryan looks at the protective facemask and then looks around the crowd. He puts the facemask on and then leaps of the top rope, hitting a Dynamite Kid-esque Flying Headbutt! He then hooks the leg of Rhodes and picks up the victory. | | Daniel Bryan defeats Cody Rhodes. |
The crowd erupt as Daniel Bryan celebrated his victory. He takes off the mask and looks at it smirking. Michael Cole exclaims that Bryan cheated, but King says that Cole never said anything when Rhodes was using it as a weapon. Bryan throws it to the canvas then then climbs to the top in celebration. However, Rhodes is back on his feet, and he quickly puts the mask back on, protecting his face. Suddenly, his eyes glaze over and he tilts his head, before rushing at Bryan in anger. He clips his legs, dropping him from the top rope. Rhodes begins to stomp down on Bryan with vicious intent. They leave the ring and Rhodes bounces Bryan's head off the announce desk. He then grabs Bryan and then drops him with unbelievable impact to the arena floor with a vicious Cross-Rhodes. Rhodes pulls at his hair, as if he's lost his mind. He then picks Bryan up for a second time and then plants him again with a second Cross-Rhodes. Referees finally arrive to put a stop to the attack and Rhodes backs off, looking like a madman. We fade to a promo package as EMTs attend to Bryan, shouting his name for a response.
We see a promo package for WWE Night of Champions, airing on September 18th, 2011. We then return to SummerSlam.
We see some footage from earlier which shows a limousine pulling up in the parking lot, and out stepping Mr. McMahon, shortly followed by the WWE Champion, CM Punk to a lot of heat. The commentary team plug the WWE Championship Match as we return to SummerSlam.
#4 | Divas Champion Kelly Kelly versus Beth Phoenix. | | Last Monday on Raw, Beth Phoenix had a sudden change of attitude and turned on Kelly Kelly during a tag team match against The Bella Twins. This new attitude followed through into tonight as Phoenix decimated the beautiful blonde, throwing her around like a ragdoll. The match didn't last all that long, Phoenix destroying Kelly with ease. With this new found focus, Phoenix was able to plant Kelly Kelly with a thunderous GlamSlam and become the WWE Divas Champion for the first time in her career. | | Beth Phoenix defeats Kelly Kelly to become the NEW Divas Champion. |
Beth Phoenix snatched the Divas Championship from the referee and raised it above her head to a ton of heat. Eve and Gail Kim rush to the ring and tend to the fallen Kelly Kelly. Beth Phoenix laughs at them before leaving. Eve looks on in anger at Beth as she leaves with a sadistic grin on her face. We then cut backstage.
Once again, Josh Mathews is backstage. The crowd boo as the camera pans around to show him standing with The Miz. He asks The Miz what he plans to do if Alex Riley does beat him tonight and forces him to leave Raw. Miz asks him "Really? Really, Josh? Really?" before telling him that he will not lose tonight. He taught Alex Riley everything he knows, but he didn't teach him how to be "awesome". He says that when tonight's match is over, he will be the one standing tall, sending Alex Riley home without a job. Miz tells us all that Alex Riley will probably get signed up to SmackDown, but the fact of the matter is, he's better off there, because just like everyone else on the Raw roster, he is forced into the shadows by The Miz, because he's AWESOME! Miz leaves and we return to ringside.
#5 | Loser Leaves Raw - The Miz versus Alex Riley. | | What started out as a student/mentor relationship, has boiled down to a bitter rivalry. These two became allies on Season Two of WWE NXT when The Miz was appointed Alex Riley's Pro, but Riley had had enough of Miz using him to stay on top, when he could be out there getting to the top himself. Riley beat The Miz at Money in the Bank, but can he do it again tonight? The two traded blows, and The Miz took an early advantage, almost mocking Riley by slapping him around, shouting that he'd be nothing without The Miz. Riley wasn't standing for this and lunged at Miz, tackling him to the canvas and drilling him with rights and lefts. Riley went for the Floating DDT, but Miz slipped out and went for the Skull-Crushing Finale, but Riley slipped down under the legs of The Miz adn rolled him up, but only got a two count. Miz eventually hit his signature corner clothesline and then measure Riley for yet another Skull-Crushing Finale, but this one wasn't successful either and Riley reversed it... hitting a Skull-Crushing Finale of his own! The crowd erupted as he covered The Miz, but again only got a two count. Riley lifted him up and went for the Floating DDT once more, but Miz did a jackknife cover, only for Riley to kick out at two. Miz ran at Riley in anger, but Riley moved, Miz hit the turnbuckle and Riley rolled him up, getting a shocking three for one of the biggest upsets in recent history! | | Alex Riley defeats The Miz to force him to leave Raw. |
The crowd are deafening as Alex Riley jumps out of the ring, claiming a sneaky victory over The Miz. Miz holds his head in disbelief as the realization sets in. Michael Cole screams "NO!" repeatedly as Riley leaves up the ramp, extremely pleased with himself. Miz grabs the referee and demands he restart the match, but he says he can't because it was a fair finish. Miz cannot believe it, and once Riley's theme fades, there is a classic rendition of "Goodbye" by the Los Angeles crowd. Miz tells them all to shut up before leaving. Booker T and Jerry Lawler are in hysterics at the sight of Michael Cole's bright red face, filled with anger. Lawler goes to pat Cole on the back sarcastically, but he slaps him off. We then cut backstage.
We see SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long in the back, watching what just took place. He laughs and says that either one of those men would be a good addition to SmackDown, so he doesn't know what The Miz is complaining about.
