Mattel says the reason they can't give us nice things like more Legends is because they don't sell very well, but yet they give us crap like this Tribute to the Troops set? Are they serious with this thing? It's going to warm shelves and pick up dust right next to the History of Rey Mysterio box sets and the Wrestlemania Shelton Benjamin figures.
This is the reason why stores don't stock new products and why Mattel has such crummy distribution. It's because they get crap like this that doesn't sell and just assume that either they shelves are stocked so there's no need to order, or that WWE isn't all that popular so they don't need to order as much.

It should be fine with those exclusive figures to go with it.

I'm personally excited about the Tribute to the Troops set, It's one of the only things I actually want from the upcoming lines besides a few other figures which are already out in some locations.

Thats the only one I've seen so far with the beard. It looks great. If the price isn't outrageous, I might get the set for that Orton head and then use the ring for my display.

Given Mattel's current prices, I would guess between $50 and $70

I'm guessing because Kmart wanted it. You forgot the other dust collectors... Kmart exclusive Legends.

I've seen worse, but most of these figures blow hard. The Big Show is especially bad, with plastic shirt Rey and no pants Orton not far behind. Cena actually looks decent and will probably be the main selling point for most.

I would LOVE to see you run a toy company.

At least it will only collect dust in KMart.

I'm tired of people pretending to know how to run a retail giant toy company. Mattel has been in business for 66 years, and I'd say they're still going pretty strong. Obviously, you won't like every single WWE product they put out, just please don't complain and say that they are wasting their money just because YOU don't want to buy it.

A lot of times, when we get silly playsets like this, it's not even Mattel's doing. Many times they get directives straight from WWE's marketing department on items which they want produced, so Mattel could very well know this set is going to be a loser, but since WWE wants it, WWE gets it. At least they don't have to go for broke releasing it nationwide, and only has to produce it in limited numbers for one of the smallest retail outlets, K-Mart.

Then your initial gripe and reasoning for this rant should actually be with the WWE, not Mattel.

I think a lot of Troops that see this set might just pick it up, it's kinda cool and a tribute for our soldiers fighting for our country.

What sucks is I am going to buy it just for the Rey Mysterio.
