I love both shows equally. Pretty much. Out of all the shows brought up in this thread... Simpson's, Family Guy, American Dad, Cleveland Show, and Futurama The only one I genuinely dislike is Cleveland Show. The rest I've loved for quite some time and still do.

The problem with Family Guy is it's totally unoriginal, all the jokes are stolen from films or tv shows, I unfortinately saw a few minutes of one of the star wars films not long ago, and the fat blonde kid was singing "My Little Buttercup" with a head on the floor that was his, all they seem to do is take two things, merge them together and try and call that good television.
I can see it may be funny to a 7 or 8 year old, but I don't see how a grown up would like his shows or call them funny.
Credit where credit is due, Dexters Lab was an awesome show.

Homer is in that one episode of Family Guy where Peter goes golfing with O.J. Simpson.

There must be some form of friendship. McFarlane sings the opening theme in "Into The Wild Green Yonder", the 4th Futurama movie.

I love watching Family Guy with my dad.

"Uh, they know he's a dog, right? I mean, I could understand if it was like 'ALF', where only the family knew he talked. But, this is a little out there."

The Simpsons is more "family friendly" for sure, and has been less funny since the late 90's. It's a shame because the early episodes from the early 90's top everything.
Family Guy isn't always funny, but when it is, it's really good stuff.
